Ubuntu 12.04 LTS review

A precise and beautiful Linux distro is now available for all Linux lovers. I was eagerly waiting for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) release.I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop the very day it was released.I faced many issues after the installation, I was unhappy as force quit was quite frequent. But with in a week new updates were available and everything was fixed :)

For anyone familiar with Ubuntu 11.10, Precise Pangolin will welcome you with the familiar Unity interface. I stared using Unity interface when Ubuntu release Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Edition, since then I never switched back to the old Classic GNOME interface or GNOME 3. People hate Unity Interface because of various reasons, but let me tell you from my experience you will start loving it, as days goes on.People tend to fear and resist change -- just ask Mark Zuckerber.

Precise Pangolin comes with HUD, something Ubuntu refers as "beyond interface". When you press ALT key HUD pops up which will ask you to type in your command. For windows users this will be an awful feature as they love there mouse clicks, but for command line lovers this will be the next greatest thing.

Unity interface got much better with the new quick list support and video lens.
Quick list support will help you to access your favorite folders, website and lot more much faster and easier. Video and music lenses will be a boon for anyone who store lots of videos and music in an Ubuntu machine. Just by clicking the super key and selecting the preferred lens one can search everything and anything :)

Other noted changes in Precise Pangolin are the latest Linux kernel 3.2.14, LibreOffice 3.5.2, improved Software Center, Ubuntu One Control Panel. Ubuntu 12.04 replaces Banshee music player with Rhythymbox, I hate both the music players. I prefer Audacious music player ;).
