When it's properly done and the rubber is correctly glued, the effect is quite clear''

No I would not encourage youngsters to do this, and if any new member or youngster seeks advice we would clearly indicate that using any type of booster is not legal for ITTF events.

However we encourage people to speak their minds freely here, and do not moderate posts or comments just because they are against ITTF rules or because a youngster 'may' get the wrong idea here if they don't spend enough time looking around at numerous other posts that DO discuss the legalities.

As I'm sure you know, boosting is only illegal for competitions that adopt ITTF rules, and there are many other competitions worldwide which don't fall under this catagory. Remember speed glue was legal for several decades, which was a far worse health hazzard, and people spoke freely about this all the time despite the obvious health hazzards...

I do hope you stick around this forum, and get to see what we do stand for, and how we try to help and educate each other in both technique and equipment knowledge. It's the love of our sport that brings us together here, and you might struggle to find another group of friends that feel so strongly about helping each other and promoting our sport.

Re: Removing Old Glue

Some good tips there V.

For water based glue - at least the types I have used such as Falco "normal glue" - you simply need a damp cloth or baby wipe to make the glue liquid again and wipe it off; takes a little effort but works perfectly.
