Microsoft cuts off thousands of Xbox players caught downloading pirated games

Microsoft is clamping down on piracy by banning up to one million customers from using its services if they are caught playing illegal games. The technology giant said gamers who install hardware to play pirated games on the Xbox 360 console would be barred from using its Live service. The online service allows multiple players to compete against each other over the internet and is central to the Xbox 360's popularity.

E.ON's Humber Gateway offshore wind farm moves one step closer

E.ON has taken the next step in developing its Humber Gateway offshore wind farm by submitting a planning application to build a new substation on industrial land near Salt End. The substation would connect the proposed wind farm, located approximately 8km off the Holderness coast, to the national grid via 30km of underground cable.

Xbox Sky Player now available to all

Microsoft has released an updated statement regarding the availability of the Sky Player on the Xbox 360 platform, noting that the service is now available to "100 per cent" of the platform's user base in the UK and Ireland.
