Yesterday I had the pleasure of working with a client of mine who I would consider my “perfect Client” and man o man, we got so much accomplished! I bring this up because many of us can say we have had “those” clients that did not appreciate what we do. Or maybe we could even say we have had just plain crappy clients!

Well, in a recent webinar I did with Branding expert Samantha Hartley, many had their eyes opened to the fact that the root cause of always dealing with bad clients is a branding issue. It’s a lack of us (as the entrepreneur) understanding and defining what our brand (the message we want to deliver to our target audience) is.

When we don’t clearly understand our brand, how on earth are our clients supposed to!?

Although, I can say I have had my share of interesting clients. I can also say that the majority of my clients are truly my perfect clients. These are the people who appreciate me, my time and my expertise.

If you have not experienced working with your perfect clients, I encourage you to do the following…

- Really work on defining your primary message you want to express to your target market.

- Refine your message to a sentence, making it easy to deliver when someone asks “What do you do?”.

When you get this down and begin working with your perfect clients, you will experience much more joy and freedom in your business.

Foursquare has recently added a new feature that offline business owners should be paying attention to…

This new feature is a “Add to my Foursquare” button that you can now add to your web site. This very simple little button will allow visitors on your website to add going to your location as a “to-do” item and receive a push-notification to their phones whenever they check-in anywhere nearby.

Now, if you are not familiar with Foursquare, it kind of works like Twitter, but it will add a GPS (from your phone) link to your updates, so people can come visit you while you are at Starbucks on the corner of so and so…

This is just another very cool tool that will turn your web traffic into foot traffic! You can click here for a sample of what one business is doing.
Now remember, this is not going to be relevant to everyone who comes to your site. This is for the people who are using Foursquare. But it defiantly doesn’t hurt to test out and see if you get any results.

Well, it goes far beyond Apple making a good product. Although that is extremely important, that is not the secret to their success…

Apple has done an amazing job on marketing ad branding and this is where the secret to their success is at… Branding.

Apple has done such an amazing job with their branding, they have gone beyond just building a loyal tribe of customers, they have built a culture!

Atmosphere

A friend once told me that there is no other feeling like walking out of a Apple store with a new computer. It just makes you feel good about yourself. Wow! Can you say that about your product or service?

Apple has done an amazing job with the looks and feel of their products. Because they have built their products with quality materials and added a more space age smooth look, it causes you to feel like you have gotten something special.

Add all of this up with their moto “Think Different”, they have created this image that if you get an Apple product it’s the best of the best… which must mean “I am the best!” And this makes me feel good about myself. See how this works?

Price Point

Because everything that Mac produces is sold for a premium price, even if you are on a payment plan with them, this still can cause you to feel more successful. Like you own something that someone who is struggling financially would never have.

Once again…. Striking to the heart of the emotions of their target market.

And when you can do that and offer that kind of experience, product, etc… You can charge a premium price.

Loyalty

Have you ever talked to a Mac user about getting a PC? lol… There is no way you are going to change their mind that Mac is the best thing ever!

I was talking to a friend of mine (a hardcore Mac Culture Member) and I was telling him about how much I like my Droid Incredible. Well, he would hear it! He proceeded to tell me that he has never heard anything good about the Droid since the iPhone 4 has come out! I have to wonder what rock he has been hiding under since the only thing that is all over the news is the reception issue with the iPhone 4.

But it proves a point, some little ol’ reception problem isn’t going to stop a Mac user from getting the iPhone 4! That is loyalty!

If you think about it, why would they give up a product (brand) that works well and makes them feel good about themselves?

A few weeks back we heard the announcement that we were now able to purchase .CO domain names. .CO can stand for “Corporation”, “Company” or “Community”.

So should you go out and purchase a .co domain name? Well, I would say that depends on your situation. If you want to protect your brand, then sure, go get it.

But are there any other reasons why we should go buy a whole bunch of .co domain names?

I decided to do some research on this brand new virtual real estate….

During my research I found out that Overstock.com spent $350,000 on O.co, which they thought was a very good deal!

I also found out that Twitter purchased T.co for a premium price. They are using that domain name for a service.

So why on earth would a company spend so much on a .CO domain name!?

Well, I think it’s important to understand that domain names are virtual real estate and with the release of the .CO has opened up some amazing opportunities to now be able to grab domain names that you never could have before.

Some people buy domain names to sell them for premium prices and others to protect their brand.

I really believe this is an an amazing opportunity for Niche marketers. Now you can get keyword rich domain names that have always been taken by someone else. I think it’s important to point out here, that there is no news as of yet that the .CO will be favored by Google like the .Com and Org. So time will tell…

So depending on what you do, it might be a great idea to go get some .CO domain names, but expect to pay $30.00 per domain names instead of the usual 9.99 or so.

Now one more thing I want to bring up is, because so many people have already been programed to type in .com and if you are going to be using a .co and don’t own the .com, it’s important to make it very clear that it is .CO not .com. So something to think about…
