But what if your work schedule or other factors don't leave you that much time to devote to exercise?

Be aware of opportunities

Exercising is always possible provided you just squeeze it into your schedules in a more resourceful manner. Get off your couch and start moving around, advises fitness guru Ann Grandjean. Every bit of chore inside your house is an opportunity to get fit. The trick is to get yourself moving - clear out the attic, do some gardening, walk to the grocery store. Any activity that expends energy also burns up calories.

Use Your Time Wisely

You might think that several short forays into an exercise routine throughout the day won't add up to much, but you might be surprised. In a recent clinical study, researchers found that participants who exercised in 10-minute increments throughout the day are more likely to exercise on a regular basis. They also managed to lose more weight than their counterparts who exercised for an hour at a time.

The Professional Consensus

Exercise physiologist Glenn Gaesser's recent study conducted in Virginia involved men and women who exercised for 10 minutes at a time. The startling results showed that these men and women were able to dramatically improve their overall health by conducting 15 of these 10-minute sessions per week for one month. At the end of that time, Gaesser found his subjects as fit as men and women who were 20 years younger.

Breaking your workout up into small chunks to better fit lifestyle has many benefits. Harold Taylor, who specializes in time management, says that short bursts of exercise can boost your self-esteem and keep you motivated to stay healthy and keep moving. Otherwise, you can become frustrated that you don't have time to work out and give up altogether.

Not a replacement

Remember, however, that short exercise blocks are intended to make use of available free time; it should not take the place of your existing fitness program. Here are some practical tips to squeeze exercise in your daily routine even if you "don't have the time." Don't tackle all of them in one day; simply choose the ones that work for you.

* Take a quick walk to the corner and back, about 5 to 10 minutes of your time, first thing in the morning.

* If you're stuck at home to care for a sick child, work on the exercise bike or Stairwalker while your "patient" is asleep.

* Jump rope or do jumping jacks. Russell

You might have certainly come across the term of acai berry or you may have heard or seen some kind of advertisement for products containing the berry. Do you really know the true facts and nutrition of this wonder fruit and the benefits of the acai berry juice? It can be better explained so as to provide you the details and reasons why this berry has attained so much popularity and how it is beneficial to those who are looking for antioxidants.

It's very important that your body gets plenty of antioxidants in order to stay healthy. The ORAC test, which stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, was a test that Dr. Guohua Cao came up with that essentially measures how certain foods work to help the body fight off health problems. Essentially it measure the antioxidants that are in particular foods so that you have an idea of how much antioxidant power the food really has.

So, how much ORAC should you end up having on a daily basis? Well, the recommended amount is 1670 each day. However, most people don't get this much. Many don't even get half of this amount. Eating the acai berry can change that and give you the antioxidants that you need in your diet.

You see, you'll actually find that the acai berry fruit actually contains 3800 ORAC for every 1 oz of the juice you drink. This means that you get more than double the amount of antioxidants that you need from one, one ounce serving of the juice. Now you may be understanding why you see it advertised all the time. With this amount of antioxidants in your diet you can really reap some great healthy benefits.

Why are the antioxidants found in the acai berry so important? Well, antioxidants are important to the body because they help to get rid of free radicals. These free radicals can cause all manner of different diseases, including cancer. So, you can definitely benefit from getting plenty of antioxidants in your diet.

Naturally, as long as you are going to buy acai berry juice, you should only go for organic. What's the point of ruining all of the great benefits of this juice by ingesting a bunch of harmful chemicals? Make sure that the company is a trustworthy one and that they only use organic acai berries before you buy anything from them.

So, if you are interested in better health, getting more antioxidants is key to achieving this. Learn more about the acai berry and how it can make a positive change in your life. No doubt you'll find that the acai berry juice totally changes the way you feel and impacts your health for the better.

About the Author:

For all the facts and truths about acai berry come to the Amazing Acai Berry. So take it slow at first - little and often.

If you are used to sitting behind a desk all day and the most exercise you normally get in a day is the walk from your house to your car in the morning then a brisk walk around the block once a day should be sufficient to get your system going and help you lose weight.

If you are active already, and enjoy being out and about, then quick and easy weight loss tips like these will be no effort at all for you.

A Moment on the Lips

You will find that most quick and easy weight loss tips will involve some amount watching what you eat.

As much as some people don't want to hear it any quick weight loss tips that are successful will involve cutting way back on the amount of sugar and sweets that you eat.

An easy one is to cut out fizzy drinks if you find you are drinking more than 1 a day. Replace them with smoothies or fruit juices.

All junk food like candy and cookies need to be cut out completely. If you add this to your quick and easy weight loss plan then you are in a better position to lose some serious weight quickly.

Instead of peeling open that Mars bar for a mid afternoon energy boost in the office, try substituting wholesome natural foods like for a bunch of grapes, an apple or a banana. These will trick your sweet tooth into thinking that it has been given some sugar and should curb your cravings.

Mind Over Matter

Your success will be measured by how much you are able resist those temptations that we face in our every day lives - don't forget this.

Quick and easy weight loss tips are useless if you don't have the will power to stick to what you have started. Set yourself a realistic weight loss goal of a few pounds a week, but back on treats, increase activity levels, and you will be looking great on the beach this summernot next summer.

About the Author:

Understanding all there is to know about quick and easy weight loss tips is not always easy. This isnt always necessarily so. More osteopaths are now recommending that clients adopt both and do a combination of Western osteopathy and Eastern Acupuncture.

Originating from the Far East, acupuncture takes a holistic approach to health and encompasses a practice which has been refined over the past 2000 years. Its underlying philosophy holds that health is dependent on the free flow of our bodys energy " known as Qi " through a system of pathways that lie beneath the skin. All pathways are linked to the vital organs, so if the flow of Qi is upset in some way (i.e. by emotional turmoil or physical injury), the bodys health and harmony is disrupted.

The way acupuncture works is that very small needles are placed into certain pressure points in our bodies which exist along the energy pathways underneath our skin. This is aimed to disperse the built-up tensions and stimulate the flow of Qi, tapping into the body's own healing response which helps restore its natural balance.

But what does acupuncture have to do with osteopathy? Acupuncture and osteopathy have very similar philosophies in the sense that both believe that a problem can only be solved if you eliminate the root of the illness, rather than merely treating its symptoms. They treat the body and mind as interconnected entities, and this is why osteopaths often recommend acupuncture in addition to osteopathic treatments.

While some people see acupuncture as simply a way to alleviate pain, it helps heal specific complaints as well as illnesses. Here are some of the problems and conditions that acupuncture can help with:

- High blood pressure and problems with circulation

- Cranial problems, including headaches and migraines

- Respiratory problems. These include asthma, breathlessness, and various others.

- Musculo-skeletal complaints, helping alleviate pain in the muscles and joints. Deals with many osteopathic problems such as sciatica, frozen shoulder, arthritis, and stiffness in the knees and neck.

- Allergies

- Insomnia or aiding relaxation

Many patients also note that acupuncture also gives them a general sense of wellbeing " improving their energy levels, vitality, and overall health.

Many people tend to shy away from acupuncture because they are uncomfortable with the idea of needles. Therapists often reassure their clients that the needles used for acupuncture are very different from the ones used to administer injections: they are a lot small and do not penetrate the body in the same way. While everyone responds to pain in different manners, most do not find the experience painful at all.

Some people are convinced western medication is the only option. Others strongly believe eastern healing practices are the best solution. There does not always have to be a choice between the two. For people in chronic pain or with enduring anxiety problems, fusing eastern and western approaches might be the best solution to feeling healthy, happy, and whole.

About the Author:

Andrew Mitchell, clinical director of the Osteopath Network, writes papers about musculo-skeletal conditions and Manchester Osteopath. Why? Probably because of a coincidence 20 years ago. Someone at Red Bull, for whatever reason, added Taurine to their drink and over time, this became the Bull Standard. Close to 10 billion cans of energy drinks are produced every year (more than one for everyone of the planet!). Surprising when one considers the toxic mix of chemicals contained in this product. We definatley enjoy following the crowd!

Several studies indicate that taurine and caffeine together are a highly toxic mix (see Taurine and Caffeine). So taurine in energy drinks apparently is not only useless, several studies seem to indicate that it is actually damaging for your health, especially when it is synthetic (see Heart Problems with Synthetic Taurine).

Taurine is banned from the supermarket shelves in France, Denmark and Sweden, and other countries such as Australia and Canada are putting together regulation initiatives.

There is no doubt that energy drinks make us feel more mentally alert and help us perform. I drink some myself once in a while before a long drive or when working late at night. The same way I drink coffee or tea: as a stimulant when I need it.

What I find offensive is that most of these drinks come with so many other toxic ingredients (Taurine, HFCS, aspartame) that the overall risk of consumption outweighs the potential benefits. The same could be said of several drugs currently in the clinical trial phase. This is why the FDA is involved in reviewing and ultimately rejecting those drugs where the negative side effects outweigh the postive atttributes. There is no such review of these potentially toxic cocktails.

So is there another choice? Coffee on its own is not a bad alternative as it doesn't come with all the artificial ingredients found in the Red Bulls and other products. Then there are some natural energy drinks which basically contain a stimulant (coffee, guarana or tea) plus a minimum of other ingredients. I recommend Guyaki Yerba Matte, GURU Energy Drink, and Sambason Energy. In the case of GURU and Sambason, they also have gone the extra step of making them with entirely organic ingredients.

I am sometimes amazed at how the truth sometimes comes out in the oddest manner. World leading bad boy music icon Kanye West just annouced his work on an organic and natural energy drink with GURU Energy Drinks. Imagine the irony, bad boy rapper sees the light and leads America back to a healthier lifestyle! Coined “superfoods,” they tend to have fewer calories, higher levels of vitamins and minerals, and many disease-fighting antioxidants.

Beans (legumes), berries (especially blueberries), broccoli, green tea, nuts (especially walnuts), oranges, pumpkin, salmon. soy, spinach, tomatoes, turkey, whole grains and oats, and yogurt can all help stop and even reverse diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and some forms of cancer. And where one might have an effect on a certain part of the body, it can also affect the health of other body functions and performance, since the whole body is connected. With these 14 foods as the base of a balanced, solid diet, weight loss gimmicks and other fly-by-night programs can become a thing of the past in your life.

Conversely, the ill-effects of an unbalanced diet are several and varied. Low energy levels, mood swings, tired all the time, weight change, uncomfortable with body are just a few signs that your diet is unbalanced. An unbalanced diet can cause problems with maintenance of body tissues, growth and development, brain and nervous system function, as well as problems with bone and muscle systems.

Symptoms of malnutrition include lack of energy, irritability, a weakened immune system leading to frequent colds or allergies, and mineral depletion that can trigger a variety of health concerns including anemia.

And since the body is connected, realizing that an unhealthy body will result in an unhealthy spirit only makes sense. When we nourish our body with these superfoods and complement them with other nutrient-dense and healthy fresh foods, our spirit will be vitalized and healthy as a direct result.

Many modern diets based on prepackaged convenience foods are sorely lacking in many vitamins and minerals, which can affect our mental capacities as well, and cause irritability, confusion, and the feeling of ‘being in a fog’ all the time.

Superfoods can be the basis of a sound, healthy, nutritious solution to curing many of these ailments and more.

How to Feed your Family Superfoods

A good deal of attention is being given to the alleged "Superfoods". What comprises a Superfood, what is a Superfood, and why you may need or consider Superfoods in your diet? There are a great deal of so-called superfood listings that are being provided via the Internet and through the traditional news media.

"Superfood" is used to identify foods that comprise high phytonutrient capacity, and that some evidence shows may provide special health benefits as a consequence. For instance, blueberries are oftentimes regarded a superfood (or superfruit) since they contain substantial amounts of antioxidants, anthocyanins, vitamin C, manganese and dietary fiber. Nonetheless, the concept is not in common currency among dieticians and nutritional scientists, many which would dispute any claims made surrounding particular foodstuffs having any extra special health benefits. Since there are no legal definitions for the terms superfood, superfoods, or super food, for this reason it frequently is said that these terms have contributed to public confusion and are therefore over-used as advertising and marketing hype.

Privacy Policy for Superfood Review

Our Privacy Policy
The Superfood Review Blog takes your privacy seriously.
