Charity Fundraiser At The Railway Inn

The Railway Inn is supporting a fund raising day on behalf of Diabetes UK and the childrens ward Stafford, which is being hosted and organised by the family of 4 year old Emerson Jeffreys who has recently been diagnosed with the disease.

During the day (12-6ish) families are most welcome, with entertainment being provided in the form of a bouncy castle, live music, a raffle, a cake sale and more! There will also be a BBQ.

Stafford Bible Week

Wednesday 18th August at 10:00am the Mayor of Stafford, Councillor Malcolm Thomas Millichap, will open “The Bible Today” Exhibition at the Stafford Gatehouse. The exhibition will then be open from 10am – 7:30pm on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Other events also taking place – see Stafford Bible Week website

A number of old Bibles will be on display along with a guide to how our Bible came to us – from the earliest English translators like Coverdale and Tyndale to the King James (Authorised) Version to modern versions.

Lunchtime Seminars

We are running lunchtime seminars during the Bible Week under the theme “Is God Your Anchor or Your Lifeboat?”. The sessions will start at 12:45 at the Gatehouse Theatre from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th.
Bible Talks

Also on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the week we will be holding evening Bible talks at the Gatehouse Theatre. The talks will being at 7:45pm with the following subjects:

Wednesday 18th – “Life on Earth, Design or Chance?”
Thursday 19th – “What is the World Coming To?”
Friday 20th – “Fishing for Bible Hope”

New Live Acoustic Music Night in Stafford!

The venue will be Stafford Rangers FC’s Social Club. There will be an admission charge of a few pounds (& all money will go directly to Stripes (Stafford Rangers Supporters Trust)).

Why’ve we decided to do this? We want to create a brilliant acoustic night consisting of 6-7 acts, that everyone who attends – loves, it’s on a Friday night, so it’s a night after everyone has had a week at work, people can come along, listen to some quality acts and have a few drinks with friends and family.

We were encouraged by the srfc beer festival and all the people who came down and said they loved it and had a great day or two at that, as a non-footballing event, as we were two of the group of volunteers who did that for the club.

Little Shop of Horrors

Theatre Ingestre are following up their last performance, Man of La Mancha, with the classic musical Little Shop of Horrors. I’ve been assured the performance will be amazing going by the rehearsals and is definitely worth the watch! This is an open air show, so I’ve included details on how they react to rain and other un-nice weather;

The performances will take place in the open air within the wonderful historic courtyard of Ingestre Stables.

Outdoor theatre productions vary, in some the stage is covered, and the audience are “outside”, in others the audience are under cover but the stage is open. In many, such as our production of Little Shop of Horrors, both the stage and the audience are outside.

The production will continue except in the most extremes of heavy rain, when the show will “pause” until the weather calms.
