Based on the immortal short stories of Rudyard Kipling, Just So takes you on a fantastic journey along the banks of Africa’s great Limpopo River to meet an amazing collection of wonderful creatures.The musical weaves five of Kipling’s famous tales into a fanciful lesson about personal coverage, individuality and friendship, all set to an eclectic, upbeat score from the writers behind Honk!This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd.

This Sunday, the 18th of July, pop down to Victoria Park (Town park for us regular folk) opposite the railway station from 11am to 4pm.

The main event is music from Stafford College students, there will also be Bouncy castles as well as food and other entertainment throughout the day.

As the title suggests this is a free entry event, so get down there!

After attending the rehearsals for this event myself, I can honestly say this will be an amazing performance for all! Your toes will be tapping throughout and if you manage to leave without singing, humming or whistling the tunes I’d be very much surprised! Well worth the ticket price indeed!

It’s my understanding that there is a limited amount of tickets available for the concert, so get your orders in as soon as you can!

COMMITMENTS Too are an outstanding 10-piece tribute band, emulating the passion, commitment and pure love of soul music as seen in Alan Parker’s award winning film THE COMMITMENTS.

As in the film, the band come from all walks of life, dedicating themselves to becoming “the hardest working band” of their genre and it’s that dedication and passion for soul music that captures the audience from the moment the band explode onto the stage. Inspired by Alan Parker’s film, based on the book by Roddy Doyle, the band began over 14 years ago by founding members Steve and Joanne. The band deliberately did not set out be a direct look-a-like of the characters in the film, but to reproduce the spirit, feel and energy of the film. And unlike the characters in the film they are all very good friends and consider themselves a family of soul brothers and sisters.

Stafford Castle Food Festival

“Food through the Ages” is the theme of the event on 20 June, with costumed characters from historical re-enactment groups cooking up recipes spanning 900 years.

Visitors to the Stafford Borough Council-run venue will be able to see and taste dishes prepared, cooked and served up from eras ranging from the Middle Ages, through Tudor and Victorian times to the present day.

Welcome to Shakespeare Under the Stars with Stafford Festival Shakespeare

This year mark’s the twentieth anniversary of Stafford Festival Shakespeare and the beautiful surroundings of Stafford Castle is the perfect backdrop to enjoy Shakespeare's hilarious comedy, The Merry Wives of Windsor.

With its physical laughs and vivid characters The Merry Wives of Windsor is a brilliant constructed farce, which features the infamous fat knight, Sir John Falstaff. The boisterous and mischievous character is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved creations and features in Henry IV Part One, as well as The Wives. It is also said that the play was written at the request of Queen Elizabeth I because she loved the buffoonery of Falstaff and specifically wanted a comedy with him as the central character.

The Merry Wives, which opens on Thursday 24 June and runs until Saturday 10 July 2010, sees Falstaff arrive in Windsor with little money, so he launches a plan to seduce two married women in order to gain from their husband’s fortune, which they control. The wives (Mistress Page and Mistress Ford) however learn of Falstaff’s intentions and are cleverer than him, humiliating him on a number of occasions with hilarious consequences.

Enjoy a long chilled drink from the refreshment marquee, a deli picnic platter or a three course meal before the show with family and friends. Then take to your seats in the impressive grandstand which is fully covered and sit back and enjoy the unique Open Air experience.
