Cheltenham drawing closer. A couple of each-way fancies for the Friday. With Mille Chief out of the Triumph have sided with Advisor. It has done nothing wrong and the stable expect plenty of improvement. Another stable fancy is The Betchworth Kid in the Albert Bartlett. An out and out stayer on the flat, he should relish this 3 mile trip. Let me know what you think.

Another Cheltenham pick for the friday in the Martin Pipe hurdle. Ashkazar, trained by Martin's son David. This time last year he was rated 156 he is now down to 137. He looked on his way back last time out and if anywhere near his best must go close.

Although we do like the Bryan Smart newcomer in the opener. Excellent Vision. He boasts a very nice pedigree and increased significantly in value. If supported today follow the money. In the 4.10 Milton Of Campsie won nicely last time out and a 6 pound penalty may not stop the follow up.

But a couple stand out today at Yarmouth . Cojo in the opener can make a winning debut. Brian Meehan's well bred youngster is entered in the Cheveley Park stakes and hasn't been set too hard a task today. Pure Heir is my second choice in the 3.40. David Barron's three year old has shown promise in better races and could be primed for success. My colleague Ian Brindle also has a strong fancy today Barons Spy in the Haydock 3.30. He doesn't have much to find on official ratings and the trainer reckons this opposition isn't as strong as his recent opponents.

Plenty on my mind, so hard to study. However I have had a good look today and found a few at Goodwood to watch out for. Cansili Star in the 2.00 is the first choice. First time in a handicap and his maiden form has worked out very well. A mark of 80 seems very fair. Jessie James won with plenty of authority last time and can follow up this afternoon. Robby Bobby is a bold front runner and has been leading at the trip in mile and half contests, he could lead his rivals a merry dance today.

Today we start with a jumper, Captain Becket in the 4.30 at Fontwell. He saves his best for this track and is only 2 pound higher than when winnuing this race last season. In the opener at York William Morgan still looks on a fair mark, despite an 8 pound rise following an emphatic win last week.

We head to Kempton for our first selection Curtain Call in the 2.40. He is not the most consistent of performers but a repeat of his last run in Ireland could be good enough to win this group three. In the 3.10 Musleh could oblige. Lightly raced, he won well here last time and there should be more to come.

Although Wing Play stands out in the 3.30 at Ripon. Hughie Morrison's gelding showed improved form last time out and can follow up despite a 6 pound rise in the weights. In the last East Of The Sun is a speculative choice. This one is stepped up to 2 miles after three modest efforts. The stable though does do well with staying types.

So let's have a look at today's action. At Epsom Piscean holds strong claims in the 3.10. He is back down top a favourable mark and ran a great race in defeat last time out. Businessman in the 3.35 at ripon is our second choice. He won well on debut and we expect plenty of improvement to come.

So just an each-way selection in the last Snoqualmie Boy. He was staying on really well over a mile and a half last time and is worth a chance over this longer trip. Kings Point is the selection in the 2.30 at Chester. He ran well at this track in May and has dropped down to a very lenient mark.

Let's see what we can do today. Beyond Desire is our first choice in the Lowther. She won well on debut when the stable wasn't in such good form, and the race is working out well. She should improve on that effort and can take this step up in class. An old favourite returns in the Lingfield 4.25, speed machine Corrybrough. At his best, these rivals would not see which way he went.

And looking forward to York on Wednesday. Showcasing is our first choice in the 2.50. Always well thought of by connections he won his maiden in great style and there should be plenty more to come. It is hard to get away from the chances of Changingoftheguard in the Ebor. His form has franked on a couple of occasions and he looks to have got in on a very decent mark.

John Gosden has a terrific record with his juveniles at this track and Kona Coast could go well in the 1.50. He started slowly on his debut but got the hang of things late on a nd should improve a bundle. In the 2.55 Oasis Knight in tried in a visor to day after disappointing on his return. The form of his handicap won last season is rock solid and off just a three pound higher mark he should go well.

In the first at Beverley today Saffrons Star could be the value. Doesn't have too much to find with Kochanski on recent running here and that looks the best form on offer. Storm Hawk in the 4.25 is improving with each run and was just touched off from a poor draw at Catterick last time out.

In the opener at Beverley High Curragh should go close. Drops into claiming company for the first time and is well in on official ratings. Ran well at Catterick last time and has little to beat. In the 4.20 Van Bossed has dropped down to a very low mark and has been running better than form figures suggest.

However we do like acouple this afternoon. The Godolphin juveniles ar ein great form and Tia Juana looks the part in the 3.30 at Lingfield. This daughter of Shamardal is related to numerous winners and holds an entry in a valuable sales race. Sir Mark Prescott has hit a decent patch of form and Prescription looks set for a good run in the 4.00. She looked in need of her return last month and should strip a lot fitter today.

But we head into a new week with a couple of selections. The first is Robby Bobby in the 3.15 Southwell who takes a big step down in class and can carry topweight to victory. Pawan is hard to catch right but is now down to a very low mark for the 4.15 and has shown a liking for this track.

But we need winners. We have a couple to look at today. The first is By Command in the 2.30 at Windsor. A group three performer at his best he has dropped down to a mark of 67. He has shown some signs of his past ability this season and is worth a chance today at the odds on offer. In the 3.00 Sunraider certainly looks the part on paper. He is entered in some top races and if the money comes take note.

But very tricky and we will head to Newmarket for our first selection Longboat Key in the 1.55. he disappointed last time out but is better judged on two previous efforts when just touched off in decent races. At Redcar in the 3.45 Flow Chart is the choice. Another one that didn't do well last tim wout but has solid claims on his two earlier runs.

Sermons Mount though could go well in the opener at Brighton. Second last time out in a slightlty better contest where the winner has just been beaten since. In the last at Haydock Solas Alainn has been in consistent form but not really slipping down the weights. However the first time visor may just bring out enough improvement for him to get his head in front.

But had a good look today. At Haydock in the 4.40 we reckon Shanavaz could run well at a decent price. She ran a much better race last time out after getting hampered at the start and only tied up in the closing stages. The handicapper has dropped her another couple of pounds and the drop back in trip should suit. In the last at Bath Chandika could go well. She boasts a superb pedigree and has run in some decent maidens. 58 looks a decent mark for handicap debut.

But we will keep going with a couple this afternoon. The Snatcher in the 4.40 at Chepstow looks on a fair mark. He had little chance on his return from a poor draw and should strip fitter this afternoon. In the 4.20 at Catterick we will give another chance to Rasaman. He has a little bit to find with Obe Gold, but we are hoping the first time visor brings out a little bit of improvement.

Let's try and make a good start to this week with a couple at Ripon. In the 2.45 Africa Star shouldn't be far away. He was well backed last time out but baulked at the start. With a clear run today he can reverse form with that winner. Amanda Carter hit form this time last year and is weighted to go close in the 3.15. Ground and trip are ideal and the stabel continues in excellent form.

Some modest racing at Newbury today and Lytham could be good enough in the 1.35. He has gone close this season off higher marks and is ridden today by a very capable rider. In the 5.00 Eurotanz catches the eye on her last run. It was an improvement on her reappearance and she attracted plenty of money. The form is solid in the context of this event and she could go well at decent odds.
