Worship at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, Iowa. This is the 6:30 AM Easter Sunday service for April 12, 2009.
Pastor Niezwaag delivers the resurrection message this morning. The Gospel reading is: Mark - Chapter 16.

Trinity Choir sings Risen Indeed and He Is Exalted at this service. The St. John Wind Ensemble joins the organ during the opening and closing hymns and the postlude is the traditional St. John Easter anthem of the Hallelujah chorus.

Worship - Good Friday

Worship at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, Iowa. This is the Good Friday service for April 10, 2009. Our service this evening takes us from the Garden of Gethsemane to the Sanhedrin Trial of Jesus, through Pontius Pilate and King Herod and finally to Golgotha for the crucifixion and Jesus’ burial in the tomb.

Pastor Weges and Erik Hoefer read the scriptures. Pastor Niezwaag, Chris Suake and Erik Hoefer are the soloists for the evening worship service. Listen in the final seconds for “the earthquake” as noted in Matthew 27, verse 51.

Worship at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, Iowa. This is a Wednesday evening Lenten service. Our special visitor we have this evening is Barabbas. Barabbas, as you know, was the insurrectionary whom Pontius Pilate freed at the Passover feast in Jerusalem at the crowd choosing. Barabbas was released and Jesus was hence crucified. Barabbas is portrayed by Pastor Dennis Niezwaag.
