Why a church should use wordpress for their website?

Wordpress is one of the most buzzed search terms at the moment, its open source, its free and its probably going to get bigger!

So why should any church go down the wordpress route? I came across a cool post here at living open source about the church communitties that are using wordpress and its growing daily.

Why do it?

1. You can install for free and church website hosting like bluehost will install it at the drop of a hat for you.

2. You can maintain and add new content either daily, weekly or monthly.

3. The search engines like. Google, Yahoo, MSN eat your content up all day.

4. Doing SEO (search engine optimisation) is easy to do in wordpress and is very quick.

5. Its easy to drive links in with wordpress by collaborating social media into your blog.

6. You can make wordpress look like what you want it to by

7. Build an interactive online church community with your congregation and enagage with the outreach community (there will be more on this soon)

Church Marketing Training – It starts here

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of speaking to some probationary ministers at an event held in the UK about marketing and mission. It came to my attention that leaders are open to this modern day ministry tools but don’t have the time or inclination to learn and implement it themselves.

After a conversation with the regional team we decided that I would role out some training to our technical volunteers or staff at the next regional day.

After agreeing to roll out this training we understand and realised that there are churches worldwide that don’t have expertise but have willing volunteers that can follow a series of video based tutorials that could really help churches get a professionally designed website for free.. learn how the internet actually works.

Mike at Freedom Church Bury contacted us regarding a website requirement for an emerging church in Bury. With careful consultation with Pastor Darren Durham we built the site to build a presence within the community and to give a good indication of worship at Freedom Church Bury.

We have seen people within the community of Bury contact and join the church by use of the website.

Thesis Wordpress Theme – Header Design

We recently were approached by a member of the Thesis community to help design a header for a Golf Club in the states. We took a brief from the client and got to work creating a total of 4 banners using the existing logo design and adding the Square Pear professional edge to it.

As you can see the banners look the business and I am sure when the coder has finished customising the thesis template, Timber Trace Golf Club will have a outstanding website.
