Stirling Dog! is owned and operated by Catalina Stirling of Frederick, Maryland. Catalina’s dedication to rescue animals in conjunction with her benevolent disposition have naturally drawn her to the world of dog training and behavioral education. She has an extensive history of animal interaction in her personal and professional life, from rescue work to the ownership of a successful dog walking business in San Fransisco, CA several years ago. Catalina can’t recall a time in recent history when she hasn’t been heavily involved with the 4-legged world.

Catalina is also my partner in rescue work and the person I’ve chosen to spend my life with; a wise decision on my part, for once! She never updates her website, but I made it for her knowing that would be the case, and it has managed to get her a few training leads despite herself!

Recently, Esti Livingston and I developed a new website and rebrand for Man Alive, Inc in Baltimore.

The organization needed an affordable solution that would be easily editable in-house, so we developed a simple worpress solution that incorporated the new logo with their current color schemes.

A hair salon located in Baltimore, Maryland: NV Salon Collective is a collaboration of like-minded professionals offering salon services in a friendly and relaxing environment. Created by Nikki Verdecchia in August 2009, NV Salon Collective is an opportunity to put to practice the experience she has accumulated over her 17 year career as a stylist.

The logo design and branding for this project was inspired by the feel of the space and the personality of its creator.

Recycled Love Banner

This 2×5 banner was designed for Recycled Love Rescue. The dog-starlet photographed and featured on the banner is Frida, my first foster dog.

A few years ago Frida was in an accident involving a drug raid, and was shot several times in the face. She had a broken jaw, and damage to one ear. For a while, she ate though a feeding tube, but in true pitty-fashion, she healed with super-speed and is doing fantastically well.

The darling formerly known as Francie has long since moved to her forever home where she was renamed Frida and is currently living happily ever after with her awesome new people.

As for her adorable face and ginormous ears: Recycled Love Rescue will exploit the cuteness at future adoption events in an effort to remind people to give the gift of adoption

I did a postcard for Kelly Walker this week. It’s for her upcoming show at Donna’s Coffee Bar. Her new work features a line of canvas and painting styles that are abstract and fun, while still elegant and sophisticated in their own right.

The opening is on May 7, 2009, First Thursday in Mount Vernon. Opening the new First Thursday season is New Hampshire based indie band, Wild Light. Also on the program is Philadelphia singer-songwriter, Matt Duke. The music starts at 5:30 PM, and Donna’s Coffee Bar is at 800 N. Charles Street, so stop by the opeining too.

Logo Design

My friend Heidi at Colonial Companies needed a new logo for one of their properties. It is a property that Colonial recently purchased, and Heidi felt like it was in need of a fresh, new image that was more representational of the neighborhood and its local culture.

Greater River Valley Townhomes is located in Montoursville, Pennsylvania, and is bordered by the West Branch Susquehanna River. It was named in memory of Elizabeth Catherine Montour, a Native American leader residing in the town that used to be called Otstonwakin.Montoursville is also recognize in reference to the TWA Flight 800 that exploded in 1996, while carrying on board 16 students from Montoursville High School.

In response to Heidi’s request, I came up with 3 logo versions that brought together the symbolism, color and emotion that I felt captured the history and legacy of Montoursville. She and her colleagues at Colonial Companies chose the following logo as the centerpiece for the future branding of the community. More marketing collateral is to come, but for now:
