Janzen Jackson, 19, and Nu’Keese Richardson, 19, two freshman wide receivers at Tennessee, are charged with three counts each of attempted armed robbery. Freshman defensive back Michael Edwards, 18, and a fourth suspect, Marie Montmarquet, 21, face similar charges.

Montmarquet is also being held on drug charges.

Ricahrdson and Edwards are being held on bonds of $19,500 each. Jackson’s bond is set at $15,000.

Police say three men, Corey B. Zickefoose, 20, Benjamin J. Everett, 20, and Corey M. Smith, 18, were sitting in a 1998 Hyundai Elantra at Pilot on Cumberland Ave.

The men said they were parked next to a light blue Toyota Prius when one of the four suspects approached their car holding a semi-auto handgun.

The victims told police the man opened the driver’s door and ordered the three to "Give me everything you have." A second suspect then went to another door of the car and said, "Give us everything you’ve got."

When the victims showed their wallets to the suspects to prove they didn’t have any money, a third suspect arrived, saying, "We’ve got to go."

The victims said the suspects got in the Prius, which went southbound on Volunteer Blvd West. They said a woman was driving and three men were in the car.

Using descriptions from the victims of the suspects and their vehicle, police later spotted the suspects near Gibbs Hall on the UT campus, still in the Prius, and stopped it.

Officers saw two black hoodies on the back seat. Under the back seat, they found a black, CO2 powered pellet gun. In the glove box, officers found a marijuana grinder.

A search of the suspects revealed a plastic baggie with a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana in Montmarquet’s jacket pocket.

Montmarquet later said the marijuana grinder belonged to her.

Police confiscated the hoodies, the pellet gun, the marijuana and the marijuana grinder. The Prius was towed to the city impound lot.

The four were taken back to Pilot where the victims identified Edwards and Richardson as the two who demanded money. Jackson was identified as the suspect who said they had to go.

The police report said two other people, Charles Miller and Carly Hair, witnessed the incident and told them the same description of the event as the victims.

UT Men’s Athletics Director Mike Hamilton released this statement Thursday morning. "At this time, we are currently evaluating the circumstances surrounding an incident involving Mike Edwards, Janzen Jackson and Nu’Keese Richardson. Any decisions or comments regarding their status will not be made until the evaluations are complete."

Head coach Lane Kiffin is said to be looking into the incident.

Jackson is a 6′, 180 pound defensive back from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was rated as the no. 2 cornerback in the 2009 class by Rivals.com.

Richardson is a 5′10", 165 pound wide receiver from Pahokee, Fla. He was rated as the no. 9 wide receiver in the 2009 class by Rivals.com.

Edwards is a 5′10", 170 pound defensive back from Cleveland, Ohio. He was rated as the no. 48 cornerback nationally by Rivals.com.

The victims are not UT students. They told 6 News they don’t know the players and didn’t recognize them during the incident. They said they were at Pilot to buy cigarettes.

The victims also said they feel the players should be allowed to continue playing for UT.

Yeah, that just happened. Unfortunately for Dana though, 85 has his last game of the regular season the very next day so if they follow through with it, it probably won’t happen at UFC 108.

Oh and if you’re wondering if there’s any way Ochocinco doesn’t embarrassing himself against Silva or whoever else the UFC might match him up with (Rashad Evans wants some), check out the video above. 85 does a little boxing training in the offseason so he might actually last 40 seconds instead of 30.

The Tigers recently held an open day of tryouts in preparation for its 2010 season. Tryouts were at D-1 Training Facility in south Huntsville. Herrin and Christina Whitney, both from Madison, were among more than 30 women who tried out. Herrin has played with the team for three seasons. Whitney was a rookie last season when the Tigers posted a 5-3 record as part of the Independent Women’s Football League.

"I used to think football was just a guy’s sport," said Herrin, 36. "I’ve always been a sort of tomboy, so I tried playing and now look forward to making the team roster again."

Whitney, 27, couldn’t complete her rookie season as place kicker due to a severe left ankle injury that occurred in the third game of the 2009 season. She has gone through an extensive off-season exercise routine to get back in condition.

"Actually at the tryout was the first time I ran on the injured ankle and it felt pretty good," Whitney said.

At the tryout, each participant was put through a cluster of physical tests under the watchful eyes of the sports training staff at D-1 Sports Training. Each woman was tested for speed in the timing of the 40-yard dash, core strength with the medicine ball throw, agility in the L-Drill, and the 5-10-5 drill, which tested each player in speed and agility.

After individual testing, the group broke into skill tests by position to try and determine where each player might fit on the team.

"I’m a lineman and I tried to tell the other women on hand at the tryout to do not compare themselves to others because the game features all shapes and sizes of necessary players that make up the sport, an aspect of the sport that I love," Herrin said. "I also told others that this football is much different than the backyard-touch football they may have played in. This is real hard-hitting, full-contact football with helmets and pads."

Herrin graduated from Bob Jones High School in 1991. She works at a call center for the West Company, which handles insurance businesses. She is pursuing a master’s degree in accounting.

Whitney works as an assistant manager at Aeropostale, a retail clothing store at Madison Square Mall. She has earned four college degrees and would love to one day be a buyer for a large clothing company.

She played soccer in high school, was on the female weightlifting team and has coached youth soccer in Madison. "Playing football is almost like a miracle for me," Whitney said, "considering an incredible situation at birth."

She was born with her intestines on the outside of her body. The deformity required extensive surgery, including inserting her appendix onto the opposite of her body that it’s usually situated. Whitney said somehow through the years, her appendix has worked its way to the correct side of her body.

"The birth defect has not affected me in any way with playing football," Whitney said. "I’m very excited about making the team for our next season of action."

The Tigers will continue off-season workouts once a week. Preseason practice begins in January. The season runs from April through June, with home games played at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville. The team Web site is www.tigersiwfl.com.

This is long, so hold on lol Although you didn’t win, you showed what the sport of MMA needs more of: Gutsy, Tough, Tenacious Warrior female athletes who will fight anytime, anywhere and anyone. We have talked a few times over the years & iv always felt for you bc you have wanted nothing more than to compete in the sport you love.
You did the best you could with what you were given and you went out on a limb and took a big chance. Anything can happen in MMA and there is always the possibility of either side winning. You stepped up to the plate, and even though you didn’t win, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
IMO I don’t like seeing true 135ers having to come up in weight because they have NO other options. Its not right & its not always fair, but I commend you on being one of the few, true, competitive real athletes in womens MMA who always takes on any challenge or challenger.
I hope that SF sees the sacrifice that you and a few others have made for them, and that this shows your dedication to MMA. The 145 is such a tricky division bc bigger girls have to cut & smaller girls have to bulk up. There aren’t too many true 145ers, even lol
I wanna see more of the women who deserve to be signed to a big promotion like Roxy, Meisha, Tanya, Lana & other great Japanese MMAers. Its hard to know there are so many women who deserve to fight that are sitting on the sidelines waiting and waiting and waiting.

Damn it.  63 seconds.  wait… "63" is my nick name.  That is way too ironic to be a coincidence.  Couldn’t I lose in like 64 seconds or something? -_-;;; … I really feel like I suck right now, but I know I don’t suck, because I beat her before.
Interviewers asked me, "What happened?"
Well, a well-setup arm-bar happened.  That’s about it…
It just kills me that I didn’t get to do ANY THING I trained SO HARD FOR ALL DAMN YEAR LONG.  And I injured my arm. 
Like I mentioned in my last post, MMA is about stepping on other people’s dreams to reach your own.
Thank you Strikeforce, for giving me the chance.  It was a great show and I was treated really well.  Congrats, Marloes, and good luck with Cyborg. 
I don’t want to face Kunioku-san…..even though he wrote me a sweet email.  God I hope they don’t show that fight on CBS…showing me demonstrating my fine skill of tapping.

The Amazing Uppercut

So cutting weight sucks. 
I did not cut weight.  In fact, I did the opposite- in practically every way.  I call it the "uppercut." 
Yes, I didn’t go hungry…but I  got a stomach ache from eating too much.  Because according to the athletic commission’s rule or something, I had to be within a 5 lb limit of my opponent, who I suspected would weigh in on target at 145.  So that means I have to be between 140 and 145.
To cut, you go sweat out water weight.
I guzzled so much water that I felt pretty sick.  And then, just as it was about to start…I had to pee.  I mean, I REALLY had to pee.  I had to pee so bad, but I was afraid that if I peed, maybe I wouldn’t make weight?  LOL I don’t know how much pee weighs!!! 
Well maybe if I pee a little bit…I thought.
I learned something VERY fascinating and essential for daily life hereafter….once you start peeing, it is difficult (rather, impossible) to stop.  I.e. one can not pee just  ‘a little bit.’  Did you know that?  I did not know that.
Damn.  Imagine that.
So there were a lot of press people, and some guy came bounding over to me from waiting in line outside to shake my hand, which made me feel all happy.  I felt all warm and fuzzy inside when people asked for my picture. ^^  I met a lot of writers for popular websites that I love to read, and who support me.  Thanks guys!!!
But I seriously felt like I was drowning.  @_@
