Federal Minimum wage in America is currently $7.25, which was set in 2009 almost 13 years ago. If you work a full time job at minimum wage, the wage you will earn is around $13,920 for the year. The majority of workers in Americans can not survive off of just minimum wage. Most jobs pay more than the federal minimum wage to their workers.

Nevertheless we have seen hundreds of thousands of people protesting in an effort to increase their wages at many different companies all over the United States of America. We all feel like we deserve more for the work we do at other jobs.

“We’re blessed in the city.

We’re blessed in the field.

We’re blessed when we come and when we go.

We cast down every stronghold, Sickness and poverty must cease, For the devil is defeated.

We are blessed.”

That is the chorus that rings out, loud and strong in Fred Hammond and Radical for Christ’s song “We’re Blessed“. It proclaims that we the children of God are blessed in all things that we do and the devil is defeated because God loves you. God loves you so much that he will pull you out of the dark places that you ran into full speed. God loves you so much that he is willing to cover you, while he is waiting on you to decide to change your path. God loves you so much that he will prepare a table before you in the presence of your enemies. And in exchange what does God require of you?

Faith and Worship.

Let’s talk about your worship. Where is your worship level with God? Do you praise him for waking up every morning? Do you worship him for the roof over your head or the clothes on your back? Do you give him glory for the people he has place in your life and the ones he has removed? Do you really pay God the worship he deserves or are you giving God that minimum wage worship?

You get up every day and head to work ,clock in and you begin your assigned work duties. You take your breaks throughout the day then you clock out and head home. At the end of the pay period you expect your paycheck for the amount of time and pay rate you agreed to. Now thing about not receiving the paycheck you worked so hard for! The pay per hour is incorrect and the hours work is all wrong.This happens every week, HR promises they will fix the problems but it never happens. How long will you work and labor at this job? How long before you decide “I Quite!” This is what we do to God! God is continuous working for you. When you was tired and can’t stay awake to read your bible,God was still at work. When you didn’t say a pray all day ,God was still at work. When you was ready to curse that person out,God was still at work. When you had it but still did not give it,God was still at work. Even when you said “NO” to God,God was still at work. I thank God he is not the same type worker we are. We would never go to a job excepting your correct payment and only receiving minimum wage.

For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.
Luke 12:48

You have so much to give God praise for in your life. You owe so much to the Lord but we can’t pay what we owe, but do you read your bible daily or only for Sunday service and Wednesday night bile study? Do you only pray at bedtime or when you are making a request of the Lord. Do you really pray without ceasing? Or do you cease to pray?

Let us try to give God what he requires. Let us be faithful worshipers not just when we are winning but when it doesn’t turn out the way we planned. Give God the praise for the failures in our lives. Let us be faithful worshipers. When that person you loved and prayed for still did not make it. Give God the praise! I know we will not be able to pay God for what he is worth. But lets do more than minimum wage. Revelation 4:8-11 gives you a picture of what is like being in the presence of the Lord.

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:

“Holy, holy, holy,

Lord God Almighty,

Who was and is and is to come!”

Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Revelation 4:8-11

No more minimum wage worship! We own God so Much!
