The term sub-prime borrower simply means you are one with poor credit. It doesn’t necessarily mean you cannot obtain a decent car loan on a used Toyota, just that you may have higher interest rates on the loan. Typically one with a credit score less than 620 will be considered a sub-prime borrower.

Finding a lender will to work with you may be a bit difficult. However, those who are eager to lend to sub-prime borrowers may be out to simply make money. All lenders make money off of their loans. However there is a distinct market that is out to take advantage of such borrowers. In order to obtain the best possible rate on your auto loan in is imperative that you take control of the process. Simply knowing your credit score before applying will put you in a different playing field than others.

Take the time to check your personal credit report and determine if everything on it is accurate. Do your best to improve your credit score as much as possible prior to applying for an auto loan. It used to be that credit scores could only be viewed by lenders. Now there is no excuse for anyone to be unaware of their credit score.

Once you have applied for and accepted a loan, continue to make improvements to your credit score. Not only will this help you in other loan experiences, it will allow you to refinance your current auto loan for a more affordable loan at a lower interest rate.

Purchasing and installing a remote starter kit is an excellent way to add value to your used Toyota. The remote starter was an instant hit the moment it came onto the automotive scene. The system allows a driver to, well, remote start the vehicle. It allows the driver to start and warm the vehicle, from an alternate location, during the winter months. At the same time, a driver can start and cool the car during the summer months.

There are several types of remote starter kits on the market today. Shopping for the correct kit can get a little confusing. It is important to purchase a starter kit that is completely compatible with your vehicle. Never buy a kit that is closely compatible and then modify it to become more compatible with your vehicle. Doing this could result in damage done to the starter or even the transmission of your vehicle.

If you plan on installing the system on your own, be sure to follow the directions completely and carefully. Always use the proper tools and parts needed. Failing to complete the instructions, set forth by the manufacturer could result in the system malfunctioning and not performing as it should. At the same time, a properly installed system should work without fail upon first use.

If you are a bit wary about installing your own remote starter system, speak with your dealership service department. You may be able to order the feature from them and then bring your vehicle in to have the system installed by a technician. Another option would be to purchase the system independently and then schedule an appointment with a certified technician to have it properly installed.

The summer months bring warm weather, cook outs, and family road trips. However, the heat during this time can really affect your new or used Toyota. The heat affects all cars, new or used, on some level. Having your vehicle properly prepared for the heat of summer is the only way to combat the affects. The newer cars are developed for better fuel efficiency; which means they are usually built using more aluminum than the previous cast iron material. The problem with this is that aluminum has a much lower melting point than cast iron, leaving it especially vulnerable during the summer months.

If you happen to be driving one of the newer, more fuel efficient models; be sure to keep current on all required and recommended maintenance for your vehicle. The transmission of your vehicle may need a little extra TLC during the summer months simply due to the fact that it has to work harder than normal to keep all systems working correctly. If the vehicle does not have adequate cooling ability it forces more the transmission to work harder than normal. Also, if the transmission has not been maintained properly and is forced to work with a poor flow of fluid or a dirty filter, it could easily result in overworking the transmission.

Transmission maintenance should be the cornerstone of your maintenance routine. If the transmission is not serviced as recommended by the manufacturer, it will over time malfunction and could end up costing you much more than you would’ve spent on the maintenance in the first place. You probably paid a good amount of money for your vehicle. Having it regularly serviced is the only way to protect your financial investment.

Toyota salespeople are the best in the business and are extremely professional. In fact, they are a direct reflection of the product they are selling. Whether you are looking to buy, trade-in, lease, or rent an Toyota, the salespeople will be able to adequately assist you. Many people don’t even realize that there is an option to rent a Toyota at a participating dealer. It makes no difference what your renting needs are, the Toyota Rent a Car program will provide you with an outstanding renting experience.

Oftentimes, current Toyota owners choose to take advantage of the Toyota Rent a Car program while their current vehicle is being serviced. This allows for the owner to go on with their daily activities as normal, without having to sit and wait for their vehicle to be serviced. In addition, the Toyota Rent a Car program is an excellent way to get to know a vehicle before purchasing. It takes the test drive a step further and allows you to take your time when becoming acquainted with the latest Toyota model.

The Toyota Rent a Car program is unlike any other car rental establishment. The rentals are Toyota dealer based; meaning you will get the same courtesy and service as those purchasing a Toyota model. Every Toyota Rent a Car rental comes with 24-hour Roadside Assistance. This will cover any mechanical breakdown, fluid delivery, tire changes, jump starts, lockout service and towing during the duration of the rental period. The program is a simple extension of the Toyota service that many have come to expect from the auto maker.

But as safety has become top priority for all buyers on the Toyota dealer lot, manufacturers are forced to meet these needs in order to stay competitive in the industry. Ultimately, though, the government still plays an integral role in what the safety standards need to be.

It wasn’t until 2007 that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration mandated that all auto manufacturers were to add side impact protection, as a standard feature, to all their models. This requirement began to take effect in September of 2009. All vehicle manufacturers have four years to be in total compliance of the requirement.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety side impact crashes were responsible for the deaths of about 8,225 Americans in the year 2007. Adding the side airbag, head protection was expected to greatly reduce this statistic and have a lasting positive impact on vehicle safety standards. However, most automakers are already within compliance and seem to be a step ahead of the requirement. In fact, during the 2009 model year it was found that nearly three quarters of the vehicles manufactured were already in compliance with the requirement, offering side airbags as a standard feature.

“We’ve gone all the way from coercion via regulation to carmakers competing to see who can get these safety devices into cars,” said Ann Fleming, a senior vice president of the IIHS.

“For consumers, the fact that the two sides got together so agreeably means that this safety advancement, that we know is so beneficial, got into cars much faster than the regulatory process could have forced it,” said Fleming.

You may be able to cut your cost of auto insurance without even switching carriers. What initially may have seemed like a good deal on your auto insurance coverage could later turn into a bill costing you too much each month. There are some things you can do to trim the edges off your monthly insurance payment. As an owner you may have gotten a good deal at their Toyota dealer, then saved some money at the gas pump, but failed to consider the savings you could have on your auto insurance premium each month.

You may be over covered for your vehicle, which will in turn result in over payment for your coverage. You do not necessarily need full coverage on a vehicle that does not serve as your primary mode of transportation. A seasonal vehicle may only need to be fully covered during the months in which you drive. If you store a vehicle during the long winter months, talk to your insurance carrier about changes the terms to better accommodate your insurance needs.

There are even ways to drop your insurance cost without compromising the coverage of your vehicle. It is recommended, before dropping coverage, to talk to your insurance carrier to discuss your discount options. Oftentimes insurance carriers will offer discount for students or those with a good driving record. Just as a blemished record will increase your monthly payments, a good driving record will decrease the payment.

It is always important to keep enough coverage on any vehicle. Having inadequate coverage puts you at a greater risk of assuming financial damage in the case of a collision or other unfortunate circumstance.

In fact it has pushed our government to put into action new laws prohibiting texting and cell phone usage under certain circumstances. In response to the new laws auto manufacturers are coming up with new technology to offer with their vehicles. Toyota is working hard at putting together technology that will defeat this public safety issue.

At, Toyota they created a Driving Simulator, simply to measure the amount of distraction caused to a driver under certain circumstances. The simulator is designed to mimic actual driving as closely as possible. It is a sophisticated system that allows the team to perform tests that are as accurate and as realistic as actual driving.

Toyota has also begun testing upcoming technology in the Driving Simulator. The Pre-Collision System, or PCS, was developed as a tool that will detect a possible imminent frontal collision and then alert the driver, in order to add to the driver’s reaction time. The PCS determines that a frontal collision will potentially take place and then a series of warnings are sent to the driver. Next the pre-collision brakes and pre-collision seat belts are automatically deployed in an attempt to avoid the collision or greatly reduce the damage done by the collision. In early prototype testing the PCS system seemed to be performing its job well, and giving the driver added warning before a potential collision.

The systems developed by Toyota are of utmost importance to the auto maker. The tumultuous start to the year gave Toyota a chance to refocus on their safety standards and begin developing such systems. Although the PCS is not yet available, it speaks poignantly about the direction the company is heading.

The 2002-2006 model year Camrys remains to be one of the favorite family cars. The interior of these cars are simple, but comfortable and roomy. Toyota made the rear seat just as comfortable as the front and made sure everything was perfectly laid out. Same may say it is plain, but the payoff is in the efficiency and usability of the features.

The ride of the Camry is undeniably one of the smoothest on the roadway. The Toyota Camry offers excellent suspension with tight and precise handling. Above all, the Camry is a safe family vehicle. In fact, the National Highway Traffics Safety Administration tested the 2002-2003 Camry models. The Camry received five stars for the driver crash tests and four stars for the front passenger crash tests. As for the 2004 model, it earned four stars for, both, the driver and front passenger tests. More impressively, they continued to build their safety standards which resulted in an even safer 2005-2006 model Camry. The 2005-2006 Toyota Camry received a total of five stars for, both, the driver, and front passenger crash tests. Equally as important, the IIHS rated the 2005-2006 Toyota Camry ‘Good’ in the offset front crash tests.

Despite a turbulent start to the year, the Toyota Camry, both new and used, continue to be a family favorite. Its classic style and quality craftsmanship ensure that this model will remain a favorite for years to come.

At the same time it is certainly far from a typical wagon. Some describe it as a blend between the three. What it is, though, is a vehicle that is perfect for family transportation, a jack of all trades, if you will. It has similarities to both the Camry and the Highlander, drawing attributes and characteristics from both models.

Its wheel base is the same as the Camry’s and it is similar in height and width to the Highlander. Drawing even further from the Highlander, the Venza’s engine choices are the same in a 2.7 liter four cylinder or a 3.5 liter V6. Although the wheel base is the same as the Camry, the Venza offers a more spacious interior. And what the Venza lacks in third row seating, it makes up for in ample cargo space. Its cargo capacity is a full 70 cubic feet. Its interior features mimic those of the high-end luxury models, such as the Lexus.

Toyota made sure that the 2010 Toyota Venza was just as safe and reliable as any other model on the market. In government crash tests the Venza scored perfectly on all frontal and side impact crash tests. The IIHS also gave the Venza its highest grade on frontal and side impact crash tests. Its safety and reliability features along with its unique characteristics are what set this model apart from all its closest competitors. Toyota developed the Venza to stand out from the pack and deliver the best features from all models. Visit your local Spirit Toyota dealership to test drive one today.

Toyota cars were the first hybrids to be launched. After decades of quality gas-fueled vehicle manufacturing, Toyota Motor Corp. redirected its creative efforts in an environment friendly direction. The first model from the Toyota hybrid cars was, of course, the infamous Prius which was a true revolution in the world of hybrid cars.

The design of Toyota’s hybrid cars and SUVs is considered superior to all the other similar models available on the market, the engine, and fuel economy are some of the best, not to mention that the viability of the design and the price are equally advantageous for car owners.

Some Toyota hybrid cars are also expected to bring modifications in terms of cylinder performance so that they may come to mark a total change in independent circuit racing. Not everybody is prepared to purchase green vehicles, in part due to the increase in price which is the reason why the production remains limited.

Consumers who are interested in purchasing Toyota hybrid cars can find more information and assistance from Jim Lynch Spirit Toyota Dealer in St. Louis.

The biggest drawback to Toyota hybrid cars is that they tend to come with a higher sticker price than conventional combustion engine vehicles, but when you consider tax credits and fuel savings, the price is not really such an obstacle.

New Toyota hybrid cars will be designed as a more powerful and larger vehicle with an engine upgrade to 1.8 liters. The range of all-electric fuel-free driving possibility will be extended without making Toyota models heavier.

Although the future Toyota hybrid cars will undergo some major revamping, they will still operate on the nickel metal hydride batteries. The new Toyota hybrid cars are tributary to the first Prius models with the all-electric mode available for low speeds. Then, the combined power engines of the gas and electric motor devices that will let the owner enjoy the speed of their ride while saving at the gas pump.
