What Holiday?

It's still a holiday in some parts of this country including where I live but unfortunately I can't really enjoy it as I have to go in to the office today ... siggghhh ... it's not by choice, mind you. My partner in the office thinks we have too much holidays and decided not to declare it an official holiday which I think is a little silly cos both KL and PJ are off today and that would mean our customers don't work either.

We'd probably loose more opening the office today than actually make any profit. Sometimes I can't understand the logic but what to do, have to show up or the boys will think us senior people have life easy. Maybe I could use the free time to do all those cd replication I've been putting off.

Back To Work

Today is the last day of mt CNY holiday. Normally we'd be off the entire week but I have to go in to the office tomorrow for some directors meeting to discuss the direction, aim and how to generate more business after the CNY holidays are over and work starts in full gear again.

I hope we don't take too long and start discussing about Ladies Hats or stuff like that cos I'm so not in the mood to work just yet. Must be the fact that everyone else is still on holiday. At least the roads will be clear, that's a plus point.

Layla

I was going through my old files just now. This is the real hardcopy kinda files, not the kind of files on your hard disc's just so you don't get confused, ya.

I happened to come across an old concert ticket. It was the one and only concert I ever attended and it was the time when Eric Clapton came to Malaysia to perform. I'm a huge fan of the man and I saved up every cent I had just so I could by a ticket and watch the great Eric Clapton strut his stuff on his signature Fender Stratocaster.

I was mesmerized. I can still remember standing just mere meters away from the stage and was utterly hypnotized when he belted out Layla, one of my favourite numbers. I was so captivated that I missed getting my hands on his guitar pick when he threw it into the audience after the song. It landed just a few feet from me before it was snapped up by someone ... siggghhh ...

even though it was years ago, I can still remember the concert as if it was yesterday.

Scorched Mind

I hate being sick! I absolutely hate it! I abhor it! Unfortunately right now I'm down with a terrible bout of the flu, sniffles and fever. The heatwave that we're going through right now doesn't seem to help it one bit.

My nose is dripping like a leaky faucet that if I put a bucket underneath it, it'll fill up in no time and probably ruin this book pottery barn coupons on that I'm reading. And please don't ask me why I'm even reading books on pottery barns. It must be the heat that's playing havoc in my mind.

I think I'll go lie down now.

Hot, Hot And Hot!

The weather has taken a turn for the worse. The past two months has been wet, wet and more wet but now it's hot, hot and more hot. It's blistering outside. The air-conditioning in my room is having to work three times as hard just to keep me cool.

Trying to concentrate on making some electronic payments for a few running items I bought is taking a huge effort just to make sure I key in the details correctly. On one hand, it's going to be a nice cool beautiful night but on the other hand it's going to ruin my run this evening. By the sounds of the rain drops pitter-pattering on the awnings outside, it looks like the run is off for today ... siggghhh ... Oh well there's always tomorrow anyway.

I could just run in the rain but I get sick very easily if I'm out in the rain for too long and I don't want to fall sick, especially so near to Christmas. Looks like I'm going to have to sit here and finish reading this Treksta evolution Mid article I just downloaded yesterday. We were supposed to run the 'Ammah' hill this morning and while it was the correct route, we just happened to run the wrong hill :P

I should really get my map reading skills brushed up and make sure of the route before attempting it the next time. But you all know about men and directions ... hahaha ... To top it off I had to hold back the world's worse tummy ache and suffer walking for close to 2KM looking for a Petrol station.

That's what you get for eating pizza, garlic bread, mamak mee goreng, chicken tandoori, rempeyek all in one seating the night before you run! The thing is, sometimes you really need to check properly before downloading these episodes for hours to be sure they're actually in English and not dubbed to Spanish which is what happened to me.

Imagine my surprise, after downloading and gleefully waiting to watch it, only to see them speaking in Spanish! LOL! What a waste of bandwidth and time. At least I know better now. Oh by the way, if any of you know any best video download websites to download more Star Trek series, please do let me know, ya :D

A Mattress With Memory

A post or two ago, I wrote about wanting a new bed. Well, now I'm wanting a new mattress. Not just any old mattress, mind you. It has to be a memory foam mattress!

Not that I really know what the heck a memory foam mattress is but it does sound pretty high-tech :D I wonder how much of memory it comes with? 16GB? 32GB? Or better yet, 64GB?

Oh, The Pain!

Darn it! My right ankle hurts like crazy. I wonder what's up with it? It feels like all the tendons are twisted and knotted together ... siggghhh ... I really don't welcome the pain with this weekends race just around the corner.

I don't even remember how I developed this injury but it's been there on and off and today it hurts just a little bit more. Maybe it's time to seek some medical help to find out what's wrong with it.

My Kingdom For A Bed!

Mrs. Spiffy and me are in need of a new bed. The current one we have is being held together with spit and prayers and we're worried one day it'll just collapse on us.

It was a fine bed until one day the boys decided to use it as a trampoline and cracked the wooded bottom thingies, I have no idea what you call it and I managed to somehow fix it back together with wires and rope switch the broken parts to our leg section so it doesn't take so much of our weight.

So far it's been holding up just fine and though I think it will hold up just fine for years to come, I think the time has come to go bed hunting soon. Maybe one of those nice log beds will be just what we need. The sky did look a little dark in the late evening but that was about it. No rains came which made it just nice to run.

But today is a compulsory rest day from running and no matter how itchy those feet felt to run i just had to stick to the specified rest days. I've gone through some utterly painful injuries from over training and I don't intend to go through it again, otherwise I'd have to be visiting allergy doctor austin for some medication.

The worse thing is, he knows I'm not a fan of any apple products and he knows I totally advocate the Android OS and yet he comes and asks me about iPhone cases! Well, I did tell him where he could get nice cases for an Android powered phone though ... hahaha!
Just the other day, I heard her calling out,

'Brenda, Brenda, where are you?'

I thought she was calling her daughter or something and when a cat in a little bell turned up and she started talking to it, I was looking at her with this weird look. Who in heaven's name names a cat Brenda? Fluffy maybe, Pussycat maybe, Garfield maybe, heck even just plain old Cat but Brenda?

I've always wanted to name my dog 'Cat' but wifey would have nothing doing with that name. So Pebbles it was ... hehehe ... but seriously wouldn't it simply be awesome to name your dog 'Cat'? Imagine the identity crisis the poor dog would have ... hahaha!

Ok, ok, I know I'm not going to be considered for any Veterinarian

Where did the time go? Not that I'm complaining, mind you, I just can't imagine the time moving so fast. I suppose when you have lots and lots of stuff to do, time just seems to fly by in the blink of an eye.

I'm hoping today is a slightly less stressful and hectic day for me cos I really need some time to sit at my desk and clear up all my paper work and also check out this article on ipod
nano cases that I came across yesterday. No, I'm not thinking of getting an iPod Nano, but the cases do look kinda cool :D

Happy weekend people,

Click

There really isn't enough time in a day to do all the things I want to do. Sometimes I wish I had that remote control, the one used by Adam Sandler in the movie, Click. I could just pause time, get everything that's needed to be done completed and then have enough time to do the things I really want to do.

But then, things like that only happen in the movies. Ok, enough blogging for now, I need to get back to looking at this term paper that was left on my desk and figure out just what the heck that needs to be done with it!

Is Money Everything Or Isn't It?

After last weeks hectic schedule, I just found out that this week will be another hectic work week! Siggghhh ... just when I was looking forward to an easy week sitting down and surfing on this new batch of exam tables that I bought. Looks like I'm going to have to put that on hold and steel myself up for a busy time.

I hardly got time for myself these days. One minute I'm waking up for work and the next I'm getting ready to sleep. I can't remember what I did in between! I really have to slow down but then, more work means more money, right? Then again, some people say money isn't everything ... siggghhh ... can you people please just make up your freaking mind!

Service For Customers

Customer service in Malaysia leave a hell of a lot to be desired. Sometimes I wonder if these people manning all these customer service sections even know what the word 'customer service' really means. Instead of having problems solved when you call up customer service over here, you end up with a raised blood pressure!

Just the other day, I called up a few different customer service people from different companies to sort out some issues and ended up having to wait for god knows how long on the line listening to some stupid recording and when I finally was put through, all their customer service people were engaged. I was left fuming. All I wanted was to have a few issues resolved and in the end, I didn't get to speak to anyone and nearly had burst a few blood vessels.

I've given up hope with the customer service in this country so much so that I'm now worried about having to call up the customer service section for this corrugated hose problem that I'm having right now.

The loyalty of this Labrador is so touching that during the funeral service of his owner, Petty Officer Jon Tumilson, Hawkeye walked up to the casket, heaved a sigh and lay down in front of the casket for the entire duration of the memorial.

Just looking at the picture was heart wrenching. I guess a loyalty of a dog for his owner knows no bounds, even in death. Maybe I'll just go sit in one of those wooden swing sets and keep Pebbles company, she is also a loyal little thing.

Mrs. Spiffy and me normally share a blanket and half the time I'll just kick it off cos I tend to sweat pretty fast if I'm under the blanket for too long, with the exception of cool nights like today. I actually can't wait to go sleep but tonight is the Dog Whisperer night and Mrs. Spiffy and me just love that shoe. There really aren't many shows about dogs and we never miss the two hours of this show.

There's still an hour an a half before it starts so I'd better see what this email I received about mens lingere is all about. I'm a little lost on the word lingere, I wonder if it's actually supposed to be lingerie, but then, if it is, I never knew men used lingerie ... hahaha!
