DJ Jelly will be back at the Graveyard in East Atlanta with the Cobra Corps fam for the anual Down & Durty Jello Tussle this Saturday May 19th!

Lets keep this review simple. Meek Mill is my rookie of 2011 hands down! He’s fierce, menacing, and has an urgent delivery that demands attention and to be respected. Although some folks may find his voice annoying, he follows in a traditional legacy of great MC’s before him. Mill demands your attention like Run, KRS-One, and DMX. Mill flexes confidence…not “swag” throughout his latest mixtape Dream Chasers 2 (And fpr the record, my people, swag needs to go ahead and die. For real).

From the intro to the sixth track “Flexin’” his range of sound and lyrics exercises a master fusion of northern and southern hip-hop. This fusion starts out balanced and fluid but eventually becomes a blur towards the middle picking up drastically towards the end. Production from all-star team including Jahlil beats and Sap create more of a believable soundscape for a young MC who potentially could be a bonafide star rather than a Twitter flavor of the month. Shouts also to my lil homie Beat Billionaire who did “Take You Home.” It was good to hear him switch up from his normal comfort zone. Other key cuts to check for are “Amen” featuring Drake, “Flexin’,” “Real,” “Ready or Not,”  and the strip club banger “Face Down.” “Face Down” will wickedly temp the ‘most virgin’  of a woman to straddle any dance floor.

Dream Chasers 2 is a decent ride but its the much anticipated debut Dream & Nightmares dropping August 28th that I’m looking forward to hearing. If Mill has more compelling songs like “Used to Be” hidden in his subconscious then I know that this youngin’ will vividly paint a picture of Philly that will rival the street cinematography of Nas’ magnum opus Illmatic. Hats off to Ross and the Maybach Music Group for making dreams come true.

I want to introduce you guys to Daily Paper. A clothing line founded by one of my homies in Amsterdam. They just launched they’re 2012 Summer collection.

Founded in 2010, Daily Paper is a Dutch street-couture label. Our focus lies in the design of contemporary men’s fashion apparel that considers quality, culture and fine detailing. We are inspired by our own African heritage and our passion for authentic casual wear. Summer is coming and with it the 2012 Daily Paper Summer/Pre-Fall collection. The collection consists out of a variety of all over print T-shirts and cut & sew pieces. For this collection we used a variety of African inspired fabrics and prints. The Summer/Pre-fall collection will be released through selected retailers and online in the 2^nd week of May.

April 30th is a huge party day every year in Germany. May 1st is a holiday here so there are usually tons of parties the day before.
