In addition, job seekers will be able to register in the Employ Florida Marketplace database to search and apply for additional employment opportunities throughout the state. JobsPlus team members will be available to critique resumes, make suggestions on how to upload resumes in their system, provide tips concerning dress and appearance and conduct comprehensive job searches for potential employment opportunities.

“The goal of JobsPlus One-Stop Career Centers is to help match our local job seekers with employers who are hiring,” stated Trisha King, Business Service Representative for JobsPlus One-Stop Career Center. “We feel that by partnering with Silver Sands for this event, we are able to provide these services to our job seekers and employers.”

The mobile career center is equipped with twelve computer stations with Internet access, flat screen televisions both inside and outside for training and class presentations, an outdoor canopy, a sound system and a generator to provide its own power.

“Silver Sands first partnered with JobsPlus last year and saw a 45 percent increase in the number of applicants that came to the job fairs,” stated Stokes. “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership and provide these great resources to the community.”

Applicants are able to begin their job search at Shopper Services, located near Michael Kors and Lacoste, and complete a profile sheet that will be accepted by all 100 stores and restaurants. Complimentary copies of the profile sheet, a list of job opportunities and benefit information will be distributed. Stores will be reviewing applications and hiring seasonal staff from now until the beginning of summer.

The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy’s unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight … 27 songs in all. The show’s title was inspired by Cline’s letters to Seger, which were consistently signed, “Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline.”

Under the direction of Rep interim Artistic Director Brook Stetler and the musical direction of Anne Marie Carroll, the cast will be comprised once again of Jennifer Steele Saunders as Patsy and Teance Blackburn as Louise. A live band will also share the stage, including Bill Garrett on guitar and Jim Garrett on bass and piano.

The Torchlight Film Series springs ahead in 30-A communities with a series of conversations with actor Stephen Baldwin, and a special sneak preview.

After an exciting and successful program of feature screenings last fall, The Torchlight Film Series reconvenes next week with a series of conversations between Torchlight Director Paul Cohen and celebrity guest Stephen Baldwin.

On Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:30pm, Torchlight will present the first conversation with Stephen Baldwin, accompanied by a screening of “The Flyboys,” an adventure film, based on a true story, about two kids from a small town who accidentally stow away on an airplane owned by the mob. Recently completing the national festival circuit, this family friendly film captivates and entertains. It is rated PG-13, and will screen at the WaterColor Boathouse.

On Thursday, March 25th at 7:30pm, the conversation continues in The Town of Seaside with a screening of the critically acclaimed classic, “The Usual Suspects.” This film launched the careers of a number of actors, including Baldwin and Kevin Spacey. The event will be held in the Lyceum Meeting Room, 42 Smolian Circle, Floor 2, in Seaside. (Please consider that the film contains violence.) CONTINUED BELOW

On Friday, March 26th at 7:30pm, the final conversation will be presented with a screening of “Midnight Clear.” Based on the short story by best-selling author Jerry B. Jenkins, “Midnight Clear” is an award-winning family friendly film that interweaves the stories of various lonely characters on one Christmas Eve. This event will be held at the Rosemary Beach Town Hall, 48 S. Barrett Square.

On Tuesday, April 6th at 7:30pm, Torchlight will present a special sneak preview of a work in progress, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker. “Thespians” is a Florida-made documentary by Florida filmmaker Warren Skeels, and is about to hit the national festival circuit before its theatrical release. The film follows four high school thespian troupes on their journey to the largest high school theatre competition in the world. It will be shown at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre.

Attendance at the March and April programs is free, no tickets required, and all four programs are open to the public.

During the inaugural Torchlight Film Series last fall, 30-A residents had the opportunity to join with and support documentarian Louis Psihoyos who visited with his film “The Cove” as it was released in theaters. The film went on to win an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature, in addition to nearly thirty other awards from a spectrum of festivals and organizations.

Torchlight Paul Cohen’s relationships with performers and filmmakers like Baldwin, Psihoyos and Skeels have made it possible for the residents of the remote 30-A communities to participate in the national dialogue about independent filmmaking, and have helped deepen residents’ appreciation for contemporary cinema.

Created by The Torchlight Program at the nationally acclaimed Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, The Torchlight Film Series screens contemporary feature films to residents who live along Florida’s scenic highway 30-A, and brings in guest filmmakers and cinema experts to talk about film.

■ 30A Market Summary and Analysis for Feb 2010 by South Walton Realtors Tracy and Craig Baranowski

February is always a volatile month for Real Estate…it is after the holidays…just starting the new year…before spring break…and can set the tone for the year for Real Estate. I have been looking deep into the crystal ball to see what 2010 will shape up to be and so far I have been spot on with my assessment:

Distressed Property is making up a significant portion of sales and inventory as the number of foreclosures rise. Distressed property represented 62% of all transactions for combined residential sales in February of 2010!
2010 is the Year of Land! I said this back in October of last year and land sales and prices are getting blown to pieces. Year to date pending sales compared to the same period in 2009 are up 177%, lots sold up 135%..Distressed land sales are up 310%…Average price sold is down 42%...percent of selling price to list price is 78%. What this means is land prices are still too high and will continue to adjust downward until we decrease inventory. We have 3,674 parcels for sale along the Emerald Coast with only 120 parcels selling YTD in 2010. If you looking to purchase land, now is the time to start searching for some fantastic deals!

First Florida Bank to Move to New Corporate Headquarters First Florida Bank, formerly Destin First Bank, recently announced that beginning Monday, April 19, 2010 its corporate headquarters will be at a new location. Defying economic indicators, First Florida Bank is embarking on an aggressive growth plan with the relocation of their corporate headquarters and the opening of a second location at The Market Shops at Sandestin in late May.

The corporate offices for First Florida Bank will be moving to its new location at 125 Main Street in Destin, which coincidentally is where Destin Bank first got its start.

“Some have said that we’re returning to our roots. The goodwill and nostalgia of the original building, with the rocking chairs on the porch and where we knew everyone’s name, feels like a good fit,” added president Ronny Clay.

'ANNIKA Experience at WaterSound' Last Month Raised Over $100,000 The ANNIKA Foundation and The St. Joe Company recently announced the "ANNIKA Experience at WaterSound" raised over $100,000 for local children's charities and the ANNIKA and Mia Hamm Foundations.

Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc. Welcomes New Members to its Board of Directors Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has expanded with the addition of two new members, unanimously voted onto the board during the February Board meeting.

“The Board of Directors is essential to the smooth running of the organization, and its participants must be 100% dedicated to our mission,” stated Alice Stapleton, Executive Director. “Both Cindy McBrayer and Melissa Wheeler are leaders in our community, and the children that we represent will be better served because of their willingness to give their time to further our mission,” Stapleton went on to say.

Cindy McBrayer was born in Houston, Texas and is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, where she received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration. She spent many years in the employ of Mohawk Carpets, and also owned a paint-your-own-pottery studio specializing in children’s projects. After she relocated with her family to the Emerald Coast, she began operating an in-home daycare and also now serves as support staff at Van R. Butler Elementary School. McBrayer has three young children, Blayze, Bryce, and Braden, and is married to Ronnie, pastor of A Simple Faith church in Seagrove Beach.

Also joining CVHN is Melissa Wheeler. Wheeler relocated to the beautiful beaches of Walton County in 2003 after vacationing here all of her life. She is a Marketing and Communications professional who brings with her over twelve years of public and community relations experience spanning both the public and private sector. Melissa received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing along with her Master’s in Public Administration from Valdosta State University. She is a graduate of Leadership Walton and a founding member of the BUILD Council, a group working to create a community-wide mentoring program for young professionals in Northwest Florida. Melissa became involved with CVHN in 2008 as a volunteer and is now honored to further her service as a Board member. She is currently chairing the Public Relations task force for this year’s Cottages for Kids event to be held in Rosemary Beach during the month of May.

The Seaside Repertory Theatre, Northwest Florida’s premier professional theatre company, announced that tickets are now on sale for the reprisal of the hit musical play, "Always…Patsy Cline," sponsored by Midtown Seagrove. It's been six years since Patsy has been featured on the Rep stage, and the show will kick off the theatre’s 10th anniversary season on March 18, running every Thursday, Friday and Saturday through April 10.

The Saturday morning SEASIDE Farmer's Market is now an annual event! Located in Seaside, Florida's Town Center behind the Raw & Juicy airstream [MAP], winter market hours are Saturday mornings from 9AM-1PM.

"Hello Beach Lovers! Spring has sprung! (I am knocking on wood) The Camellia Trees are blooming in Point Washington, the air is balmy, and finally breakfast is back! John from the Artesano booth will make a beautiful farmers market breakfast with all the ingredients coming from the market. Break out the bike and pack up the family for a fun morning in Seaside. Come get your local milk and eggs, soap and bread, and even a Camellia Tree of your own at the market this weekend...

The Seaside Farmers Market is not only a fan favorite for its fantastic produce, but also for its artwork. The 2009 Seaside Farmers Market poster series, designed by DeGregorio Design, was recently awarded a Gold Addy Award by the Emerald Coast Advertising Federation. Ocheesee Creamery: The Wesselhoeft's will be at the market this weekend with local certified Pure Jersey Products. Skim Milk, Whole Milk, Butter, Cream and Cheese. If you haven't had fresh dairy this is a real treat and very well priced. All products come in traditional milk bottles and require a deposit, support your local farmer here!

Twin Oaks Farm: We have farm fresh organic chickens and they are gorgeous ..I dont know if we are getting really good at raising them or if they like it so much at the farm but they are big, ... lots of 4lb up and even 5lb perfect for jamborees or just because you like them so much ....Our broilers are fed a certified organic feed without soy, they are pastured, bugs, grass and sunshine is part of their diet. We sell whole bird only at $8/lb and they range between 3lb to 5lb.

To pre order your chicken/s please send us an email with size range (3lb to 4lb or 4lb to 5lb) and we will pack it/them ready to pick up.

"Chicken Broth Starter Kit" Feet/head and gizzard : all you need to make your own chicken broth, get over it People real food is not cubic in shape. $3.50 to make a gallon of organic chicken broth. We will have ready to go Chicken Broth (yayaya we know some of you are not going to make it) made at the farm with our own certified organic chickens.

Our chickens and ducks are certified organic. They are fed USDA certified organic grains without soy, grass, bugs and fun are part of their diet.

It looks like some of the feathers are growing back and the production has improuved so we have eggs. Duck eggs, duck eggs, duck eggs, duck eggs, duck eggs, duck eggs...If you are allergic to chicken's eggs this is the good alternative ... they are big and beautifull, packed with 2 to 3 times the nutrients of a chicken egg ....including B-12
