When i went to an ad agency they are asking for any creative done by me, unfortunately i dont have one yet except this . This is done in Photoshop, Jayaree madam from IMAGE gave this assignment.

So i thought of making one ad with this picture, but it lacks a good copy. So the copy is

This vaction gave me many new experience, "Dwaja Prathistha" in kunnath temple is one among them. It is once in a life time opputunity for me. I got a chance take part in the process of putting the Kodi Maram in to the Enna Thoni.

Kunnath temple is one of the famous and oldest temple in malappuram district. This temple is famous becuase of the connection with the Angadipurram temple.

This is the place where this wood is going to rest for the next one year in a oil, after one year they will take this from it and will make it as a Kodimaram.

Melshanti pouring oil into the the vessel where they kept the wood. After his turn all the guys and gals who have gathered there got chance to pour the oil into it.

Birthday Gift

Yesterday we had two birthday in ad club. It was kind of surprise for me because yesterday was our last day in ad club so we got a good reason to celebrate.

For this birthdayt i decided to do something different other than just eating the cake and pose for the photos. So this time i decided to give gifts to these b'day guys.

One guy is working in a Indian Express in a managerial level, who is in his 30's so there is no better option for me than giving him a book.

I hope this book will help him especially during this time to tackle the bloody recession.

The other one is a gal who is in her 20's. For her i decide to give a Gold plated coin having 24-carat gold plated image of Saraswathi . There is no good gift than this for gals because it have some kind of gold in it.
But the packet is too small so i decide to do something to make my gift looks big.

When i was searching for a box i couldn't find anything other than a Wills cigarette packet, so i decided to put this small gift into this packet.

But it was not looking so good, then i decide to do some make over on this wills packet and i got something like this.

Then i bought a gift wrapping paper from Landmark and wrapped these gift from there itself.

Wish You many many happy returns of the day................

So guys and gals be my friend i can make you happy as much as i can.

I dont know what the hell you are thinking about me after reading this crap. But one best thing is that it is the first poem i have written in my life.

Today i happened to read one poem of Rabindranatha Tagore that gave me the inspiration to write this crap. Try to read his work but dont ever compare it with mine please.........

Clouds and Waves

Mother, the folk who live up in the clouds call out to me-
"We play from the time we wake till the day ends.
We play with the golden dawn, we play with the silver moon."
I ask, "But how am I to get up to you ?"
They answer, "Come to the edge of the earth, lift up your
hands to the sky, and you will be taken up into the clouds."
"My mother is waiting for me at home, "I say, "How can I leave
her and come?"
Then they smile and float away.
But I know a nicer game than that, mother.
I shall be the cloud and you the moon.
I shall cover you with both my hands, and our house-top will
be the blue sky.
The folk who live in the waves call out to me-

not where we pass."

It was surprise for all the ad club students who attend the Business line quiz that Balaji got a audience prize because any of us except him cant gave a right answer.

Getting a audience prize was bit difficult because nearly 20 to 30 people raise their hands and the quiz master choose one.

Surprisingly he answered the toughest one, they called it as a theme round. In this round quiz master gave 5 question and we have to find the answers and these answers will give the theme. I think his engineering background did help him to got this answer.

So i would like to say thank him for making us proud that someone from our batch also having this kind of talent.

Last day i found a new way to do something which i am looking for ie copywritting.

I started to make ads for myself, i look at the client brief from magazines like campaign.

Then i do take one newspaper and cut suitable words and pictures for the ad then connect all that things together to make something sense.

It gives me a lots of joy and immense confidence that i could do well in this field.

Today me and my friend in ad club went to AVM studio to see one of the prominent ad film maker Kammath because he is planning to do his intern in ad film making. I also accompanied with him and got a chance to see the making of an ad film.

It is for the jewelery brand called Emanuel Jewellery from kerala. It is directed by Rajeev and Camera man is Kammath.

And the model is film artist , she is pretty and very lively and energetic. I couldnt see any sort of bad behaviour i have heard about film stars.

Nearly 20 to 30 can see in that floor who busy with their work and also can see nearly 10 to 15 guys like us who come to see the shoot.

Fairpro 09 property show

I had a many doubts about the success about FairPro 09 before when i went to the Venue. Before when i went to this property show i had a wrong perception that nobody will buy or book the villas and flats during this tough time. But the crowd and the stalls revel me that there are still many guys having money and looking for new villas and flats.

But almost every builders reduce the price/square feet. Some villas which cost nearly one lakh some months ago are now avail at nearly 60 lakh.

I saw more crowd in the stall of SBI home loan, because they recently cut the interest rate of the home loan.

I was not so interested to go for that show, i just accompanied with my friend who is working in an ad agency. He wanted to know who are the new players in this field and projects

Crazy Combination

You may seen the advertisement of Bingo which telling about crazy combination, but my friend is far better than Bingo guys for finding a Craziest combination.

I know you are very curious about the combination.

He found a new combination ie. coffee with sambar, i mean he drinks sambar with Coffee. He take sambar insted of Vada or Bajji.

I think he have to take patent for this crazy combination because he can sell this idea to Bingo or Lays.

So try this out and find new combinations.

One of my friend having a habit of taking tea irrespective of the time. Some days back we were watching one movie upto late night 1 am.

Then he forced me to go for tea, i was shocked what the hell is talking about tea at 1 clock and who is going to give tea at this time.

But guys there is a one place for you if you really want a tea after 12.oo, take your bike and ride near to the pothys textile and you can find one person selling tea in his bicycle. His main clients are securities guard working in T.nagar area. You can also find a Ice-cream person near to him.

Guys believe me it is a great tea, it is worth to go even at one'O' clock. There is only one life to enjoy so experience everything and try this out.

"LESSONS FROM THE RECESSION'

Last Friday we attend the seminar comes under the Gyann Series conducted by Ad club Madras.
This session is taken by Mr. Satish Kumar (Managing Director,Henkel India Limited)

This session is relevant during this days.He spoke about the causes and opportunities we can find during the recession time.

But at the end of the session he spoke about something which really matters to me, its regarding the new recruitments in his company and other companies. I think it will be hard to get a new job during this tough time. Let see what will happen.

During this function they also gave the prizes and certicates for the last batch of PGDAM.

Wild snakes in chennai....

The outskit of chennai city is filled with wild snakes, like you seen in this picture. You are able to find these type of snakes near to the bar, they call it as a TASMAC.

I was very proud to be an mallu because i thought we are the one who consume more liquor than any one but when it comes to show these peole gaining more points.

Trip to tirupati

Last week we went to tirupati the richest temple in the world in bike. It was really fun we enjoyed a lot and had many great experience.

We started our journey from chennai at nearly 6.00 pm and reached there before 11.00pm. But it is always better to start before the peak hour between 4 to 7. We caught in a traffic jam and it took nearly 30 min to escape from that hell. If you are going in car it could be worse. so try to start before 4.00 pm.

Tirupati is a well maintained and clean city than any other place i have visited earlier for the pilgrimage purposes.

If you want to enjoy tirupati and tirumala try to go in your private vechicle, if it is bike you can explore everything.

But when you go to tirumala by bike dont forget to take helmet. If you forget helmet dont worry i will you a useful tip.

TIP: go to the nearest tea shop which is near to the checking point and pay Rs. 400 advance and Rs. 40 rent you will get one.

Clever Merchant...

I saw one really clever shop keeper in Amjikarai.

He is really smart because he don’t have a weight for small quantities like 50g, 25 g e.t.c. So he uses some products in that shop which has the same weight like chips packet for 50g.

chennai police really tough..

Hey guys be very careful when u deal with chennai police, they are really tough than you think.

Last Saturday i saw a horrible seen where one police dealing with a drunker. The victim is also a partially handicapped.

The police beat him like a dog, the victim is also not so good because he was arguing with the police and hold his color. That mad the police angry and he took him into autorikshaw and went to station.

I don’t know whether that guy is still alive.

Guys i took these photos with some sort of risk, so as far as i am concerned it is the best pictures of mine.

Yesterday i had a dream about my mother it is more than couple of months i havent seen my mother. So i decided to write something about my mam.

She is one of the well known artist in our home town. She draws well because of that she run a small drawing school name "CHITRAPURI". But she is very lazy to conduct exhibition to showcase her works.

But unfortunatelly i dont have enough collection of her works.... lets watch some of here work which is especially drawn for me for some occasions like marriage, birthday e.t.c

All my tamil friends made me dissapoined because nobody invited me to their home for pongal. I was very thrilled that someone will call me and can experience the biggest festival of tamil nadu. I am very disappointed with my tamil friends.

So i think mallus are better than tamilans in this matter. I have to find some good friends here in chennai.

But nobody can beat us, so i called my mallu friend who ying MBA here and we enjoyed pongal in our own way but insted of Pongal we used Chicken fry and beer insted of Payasam.

We had some session about photography in ad club. This topic is dealing by John Sudhakar one of the veteran photograher in chennai From foprtune studios.

He spoke about lighting, lenses, the relationship of Photography with advertising e.t.c. He also bought some cool cameras and lenses which cost nearly six Lakh.

I think it is one of the best job in this world. But these gadgets are very costly some decent lenses cost nearly one lakh.

Last day i visited the 32nd chennai book fair. It is conducted in the St. George's Anglo Indian School. Being a new to the chennai city it is the biggest book fair i have evern seen so far. It will take nerly 2 hr to see all the staff for casual visit. More than 200 halls is there.

But i could only find only one mallu stall of Malayala Manorama but they are using this event for making circulation for their publication. I went to book fair with my friend, he is more intrested in religious, devotional,yoga e.t.c related books which i am not intrested.

I bought two books during the second visit. Both books are sort of motivational kind of book, i think i lacks some motivation..haha. Books are "Megaliving" by Robin S. Sharma and "The 7 habits of highly effective people" by Stephen R. Covey.

Hey lets compare the crowd in these book stalls and food corner. Even books cant beat spirit for food. But the tocken system in the food corner is disgusting. We have to go & ask the price of the food in the food stall and have to take tocken then again go back to the food stall to get the food. It took nearly 20 minutes for me to get a Bhel puri.

Where is the petrol ?

No Stock..........

For the last couple of days all indians have been asking only one question " Where is the petrol?".

The reason for this crunch is too complicated from the strike of lorries to the officers of the petrol companies. Any way the impact was so bad.

I think it is the time to take a strong action, take empty bottles and run baby run. Nothing else can do because it is our own India.

Chennai Open....... somdev rocks

Starting of this year is pretty good because i could see this year's chennai open. You may think it is not a big deal, but for me it is a big deal because this is the first time i am watching professional tennis not in television. But it is not so excited as i thought when i went to quarterfinal but the final is superb because of the huge crowd.

I watched the doubles quarter final and both final matches. The main attraction of this year's chennai Open is Somdev. He is playing really well and he beat top guys like Carlos Moya. Everybody was cheering for him but unfortunatelly he losed in the final against Marin Cilic

But it is very difficult for getting ticket if you havent booked earlier, but i will give you a great tip go to the nearest tea shop and ask any official guys standing in the tea shop you will get "Official Black Ticket". But unfortunatelly you can use this tip only next year.I got Rs. 100 ticket at 150 for quarter final and 200 for final.

It is a Doubles quarterfinal match Bupathi team is in black. Quarter final is too boring there was no good crowd as i expected and Bhupati's team also beaten by the swiss team.

This is the final match... look at the crowd they gone wild for Somdev.

This is Award function. somdev got nearly 15 lakh of indian rupee and cilic got nearly 36 lakh of indian rupee as prize money. Isnt it amazing ?

And atlast my favourite part, free sample. Everybody got a sample pack of "sugar free". I am expecting some more next year. haha

Surprise for Kiruba

We gave one surprise treat to kirub for some reasons like inaguration of wikipedia academy, brining Jimmy Wales to Chennai e.t.c.

He is a visiting faculty of Ad Club Madras, fortunatelly i am studying there.

This is a cake which we brought for kiruba......

He started to cut the cake.....now you can expect something fun.

We call it as a Cake facial.
