Eco-friendly lifestyle tips and tricks are the main topic of many publications and Internet pages created in the last years. Albeit being a local real estate expert gives me plenty of opportunities to talk about the many ways of eco-friendly living with my clients, my topic today will be a bit more specific. Most people have already come across the crucial eco-tips, so we are not going to try to summarize them here again. Our today’s topic will be the three everyday items that we generally don’t even consider to be a problem: food, water and electricity.

Groceries

Since most people (I believe!) regularly recycle paper, glass and tins, most of your common litter is probably composted of food. The bulk of the groceries that we throw away is in most cases in perfect condition and in some cases even in the original wrapper or box. We can find out that out of all the groceries that Canadian families pick out and pay for in stores, 20 to 30% eventually ends up in the dustbin. Adding stores and restaurants’ garbage, that’s 7 to 14 billion tonnes of food per year. That is worth $3 to 5 billion Canadian dollars per year.

Now you are probably surprised by these numbers, aren’t you? With so many organizations trying to help people affected by lack of food, while at the same time so much of it is being wasted right under our noses. While it wouldn’t be too smart to pack unused groceries and send it to countries hit by famine, there are other ways to avoid food being thrown out in vain. 1. Try using leftovers. For example if you had some rice remaining from last night’s supper, you could have prepared stuffed peppers today. 2. A good way of avoiding food going past the expiry date is sorting your food cabinet by this criteria: older food, that is going to expire soon, is placed in the front, while the longer lasting products can stay in the back of the shelves. 3. It may happen that you know beforehand that there is some food you are not going to be able to consume before its expiration date. Instead of throwing it out, try to find a local charity or soup kitchen and bring your food there when it’s still serviceable. Let some people eat it – hunger isn’t only to Africa. 4. If you have some leftovers anyway, try mulching it instead of just throwing it away. Always try to think in the way that food just shouldn’t be dumped. If you don’t have a garden yourself, try to find someone who does and can do the mulching.

Water

You probably already know many tips on how to prevent using more water than necessary in your household. But there is one remarkable aspect of home water saving – toilets, as places we use to get rid of our excrements. We got used to using toilets so much that we no longer think of them – as long as they work the way the are supposed to. However, have you tried to calculate how much water your family uses every month for flushing the lavatory? Wow, that’s a lot of water, isn’t it? And has it ever occurred to you that this quantity is not necessary, that flushing your lavatory can be done using less water? There are two different methods to achieve that. 1. There are new kinds of toilets available, that are using just the minimum volume of water necessary. You might think that there is not much to choose from when buying a new lavatory, but just stop by at your local shop and see for yourself, you might be surprised! 2. Another way of decreasing the amount of water for flushing is to put several plastic bottles filled with water into the tank of your toilet. You might have to experiment a bit before you find out the right volume of water needed for the toilet to keep functioning fine.

Electric energy

You have probably already heard a lot of tips and tricks on how to save electric energy. But now let’s talk about tumble dryers, as I see these myself as one of the biggest energy-eaters in our households. Today, people are not used to waiting before they get something they want or need at the moment, and they sometimes need too much energy getting it, just because it will be done faster. It’s a fact that no one has time today to do the laundry by hands and dishwashers actually save water. But tumble dryer? Would it be such a great problem if we just waited 1 – 2 days for our clothes to get dry? If you really mean to “live green”, use your tumble dryer only in crisis situations or get rid of it (sell it) completely. Not only the environment will be grateful for your decision, but also you will pay less for electricity.

All over the world being environmentally friendly is starting to become the norm. Homes are traditionally known as energy cows. This drain on energy reserves can also be a drain on homeowner’s wallets. Being greener to the environment will help not only the planet but your finances.

Insulation

Insulation is included as a part of almost every new home built today. If your home is older than this may be different. Building which were build before the 1940’s usually are not properly insulated. If you have an older building then you would need to check if it is insulated. Cavity wall insulation is the most common insulation process. Most home insulations can easily be set up in the cavity between two outside walls.

Insulation will stop the conduction of heat into or out of your home and save the power you have traditionally used to heat or cool your home. Sometimes heat insulation in countries such as Japan, America, and the UK is funded by local power companies, so homeowners are urged to contact their power provider before installing insulation.

Turning Out the Lights

Another simple way to save the environment and homeowners’ money is buy turning out the lights. when leaving a room turn off the lights to reduce your power bills. But how many homeowners follow this advice?

Many studies have shown that a very small amount of people turn out the lights when they are not using the room. This is very sad because something as simple as turning out a lights will not only save the environment but will also save money. Even today a a lot of families don’t use some of their rooms in their house. If they could turn out the lights in these rooms they could cut their power bills by 25 percent.

Of course, you cannot live in the dark and you must have your lights on sometime. Companies have recognized this need to balance the use of electricity and the need to preserve the environment and are now producing environmentally friendly light bulbs. These types of bulbs use a lower percentage of electricty every time they are switched on. Not only do they produce less waster they also last longer.

Don’t forget to Flush

Water bills rank right up there with power bills when it comes to both homeowners’ expenses and protecting the environment. Bathrooms are well known for water shortage. Along with things homeowners and their families can do to save water, like not running water while brushing teeth, there are devices on the market to help save water in the bathroom.

Several companies are making low flow shower heads that reduce the amount to water that comes from the shower every time it is turned on. These shower heads are inexpensive and easy for the homeowner to install.

Toilets also waste water and devices can be purchased and installed that lower the flow and fill level in all toilets. Your toilet will continue to work on an optimum level when using these devices.

Turning your thoughts to becoming more environmentally friendly can start by looking at how you can utilize the sun and the wind to generate electricty. Maybe take a look at building your own solar power or wind generators.

As well as looking after your planet you must ensure you look after yourself! Why not try Human Growth Hormone genf20 hgh. HGH is produced during your entire life span from inside your body, it is produced from your pituitary gland, which is the main nerve centre.

The planet is heating up, year after year everything is getting warmer. So if the world is getting warmer, then the original ideas for going to the Caribbean for a sunny hot holiday are being dismissed. The Sun is prevailing over the clouds right along the south coast of England.

In any case, is there other reasons for us to visit these places for our Caribbean holidays, or should we just enjoy a cheaper, maybe just as warm holiday closer to home. Global warming has been having increased effects on our world since we started burning fossil fuels; one slight advantage was that the cooler places on the planet have seen a rise in temperature. We need to take into account the global warming is unpredictable and the only way to slow it down is to do something about it immediately. The changes in temperature between the atmosphere and the temperature from the ground created by us, have helped exacerbate the problems the Hurricanes present us with. These storms are damaging not only to us but also to the surrounding environment. Tobago holidays will suffer because they rely heavily on Scuba diving tours.

Now it might be getting warmer at home, but in the Caribbean it is heating up as well, and they will be suffering from other increased environmental disturbances like hurricanes or mesoscale connective systems. These Mesoscale systems are a connection of rain, thunder and lightening, all in a line and are very rare, but becoming more likely and more deadly. Relatively soon these areas are going to be changing rapidly, so heading to these destinations is of importance because in some cases you may not be able to visit there later in life. Even if you can still make it to the Caribbean in the future, it will be a very different place to what it is today. The coral reef not only in the Caribbean but across the world is dying, but the marine life is fading as well. Some of the places that may have large populations like, Barbados or Cuba will have culture changes because of the change of the environment. Cultures are going to be damaged by the changes in the environment and so will tourism.

Popular destinations to get married like St Lucia holidays will slowly decline and this magnificent island will lose its tourism trade.

The looming ecological crisis is a hot subject these days. The crisis is man made. There are a variety of problems that have come to be clubbed under ecological crisis. Oils spills such as the Alaskan tragedy created by Exxon Valdez in 1989 and spreading toxic pollution from industries is one kind of crisis. A number of islands as in the Pacific are to be flooded out of existence due to rising sea levels, a result of man-made green house gas emissions causing global warming. More radiation from the sun reaches the earth with increasing depletion of the ozone layer in the atmosphere. Desertification and deforestation are going to make a large number of species extinct. Devastating floods are sweeping large tracts of land with the deforestation of the adjacent mountain ranges. Some 17, 000 to 100,000 species are estimated to vanish from the face of the earth each year. More than seven million square kilometers of thick forests have disappeared within the last half century. Only a fifth of the original forests still remain intact.

Science teaches us that species are dependent on each other. The species also depend on the non-living things in their habitat. The species could be micro-organism, plants, and animals. The continued inter-dependence between them is the key to their survival. Human beings cannot recreate ecosystems. Scientists agree that it is not humanly possible. The only way is to let the ecosystem survive for species survival. The importance of conservation of nature stems from this realization. This is also the reason that some areas are identified for conservation. But at the same time, the demand for growth and development threaten conservation.

It is hoped that the large scale appreciation of natural reserves will lead to conservation of these reserves. Camping in such reserves for the purpose of recreation and learning is considered to be one way of strengthening conservation. Responsible camping in such reserves also requires a living experience with camping tents. You need to select a tent that is suited to your needs. Kelty Green River 4 person tent accommodates four persons. It is a two season tent which could also be used as a base camp tent. Tents accommodating one to even ten persons with different features are available in the market.

Most of all the visitors are to be sensitive and aware to leave nature alone as well as respect the local cultures. The important task is to be appreciative about nature. It is important to make sure that we realize that nature does not belong to us, but rather we belong to nature. The relationship with nature is a relationship of the children to their mother.

The price of electricity is going up. The price of everything in our capitalist society will go up. Economic growth and inflation are all part and parcel of a growing economy. These unavoidable truths force us to consider alternative energy sources like solar panel technology and windmill generators as a way to both save money and be kind to the environment.

People today are much better informed and due to this awareness there is a movement that is growing towards getting rid of the old generating systems of the past and the adoption of new technologies for renewable energy is fast becoming the accepted practice. Everyone knows that the environmental crisis is one of our making. The best way to find our way out of a difficult quandary is to find ways to both reduce our energy consumption and to explore clean alternative sources of energy.

As a nation, our leaders have taken the initiative and put significant financial resources into home solar panels technology, wind and nuclear energy. Wind and solar generators have the ability to provide electricity with virtually no cost to the environment.

Due to government investment in these renewable technologies, it has allowed the research to move quicker, resulting in lower prices and smaller scale for the home user.

The concept of a small wind turbine and/or a solar array has come full circle, to be seen as a reasonable and rational concept for main stream society.

The technology of solar power – familiar to students of physics — works by exposing solar photons to thin sheets of different electric elements, producing an electric current. If you have enough of these element ‘sandwiches’ you can produce enough electricity to power the necessary appliances in your home. The appliances designed even a few years ago to run on a limitless supply of electricity are not the appliances we now need.

It is vital to streamline appliances in order to maximize their efficiency. It is an achievable goal to expect self suffiency in the future if we keep our efforts to spread the awareness at all levels of society.

For those in areas without constant sunshine, it is possible to utilize wind turbine technology to produce power to supplement.

While the generation of enough electricity to produce heat of sufficient quantity may be difficult in northern climes, the obvious and equally environmentally friendly alternative is the geothermal or aqua-thermal ‘heat pump’. Already becoming extremely popular in the cooler climates, the ‘heat pump’ transfers the inherent heat of the Earths average 65 degree constant temperature, into a system of liquid filled pipes, and, with the use of a refrigerator-like compressor, send it into your home. It even reverses to cool in the summer.

If this heat pump is powered by your home solar panels, you have succeeded in making your solar panel installation part of the solution to our environmental problem.

It is sort of awesome that this technique can easily run refrigerators, washing machines, and other preferred home-appliances

Brief Background Info
It all started with Solar-Panels – the most significant factor of any Transportable Solar Electricity Kits, by employing one of these famous guides, one will be ready to gather them with your own hands. Make some effort when picking a guide ; check that it gives the following : clear illustrations, footage, diagrams, videos, and technical support.

The idea is rather easy yet a clever one – Transferable Solar Energy Kits are supported on a down-loadable instructional guidebook that explains in straightforward words how to line up Solar-Cells at ridiculous price. It may sound apparent, but be certain to pick the right guide ; guarantee it provides evidence that it was successful for others.

What are the Real Benefits?
Whilst finding out what is in it for the individual, one can quickly find the following:

* Really fast return on investment (ROI).
* Utilizes Wind-Power as a backup when having long periods of cloudy days.
* Helps the environment.
* Raises the value of the home by thousands.
* No duty to keep in mind to switch off the lights each time one leaves the room.

Tip to Go
Don’t follow guides that don’t give visual direction – in almost all of the cases only elaborated illustrations and videos can really certify complicated operations. Also nowadays portable solar electricity stations come in very useful.

Bottom Line
The main reason that it so sought after among most home-makers is the fact that transferable solar electricity kits need minimal effort and cost in order to get great results. There is no question – Portable Solar Energy Kits actually provide an outstanding opportunity for any household to ‘cut’ their electricity costs to almost zero. It would be rather simple to find other gains given by this unique invention. Now it is time to take action, so at about that point it is advised that you simply try it, as in almost all of the cases it will take an individual no longer than a single weekend to have it up and working.

If you are anxious to lower your carbon footprint and at the same time cut your electricity bills as well, having a wind turbine to generate electricity to power your home could be the answer you have been searching for. Renewable energy options are rapidly becoming the choice of many home owners these days, particularly in the face of ever increasing electricity bills. And as oil and coal become harder to find and extract in the next ten years, the prices of traditional electricity can only increase a lot more!

Up and till very recently, the costs of installing wind powered generators has been extremely costly, with small turbines designed for home power needs costing anywhere between $2,000 and $10,000.Obviously prices that high means it will take lots of years for your investment to be repaid.

But now you have another viable option that is dramatically cheaper, the option to actually make your own diy wind generator . For just a few bucks you can now buy very detailed, easy to follow manuals that show you literally step by step, how to build a windmill.

The best DIY guide on the web without a shadow of a doubt, is the best selling Earth4Energy. Earth4Energy actually comes as a series of video tutorials rather than as a traditional instruction manual. The videos are very easy to follow, and are extremely comprehensive, covering the whole process, including how and where to buy or beg your components from cheaply, through to the actual generator build and installation.

If you follow the instructions in the videos, you realistically should be able to construct a reasonable sized home wind turbine for around the $250 mark. You’ll soon recoup your investment costs when the electricity bills stop dropping in your mailbox! Of course there will be some additional costs. You will need to employ a qualified electrician to install your new generator in to your home’s network, and it is also advisable to buy or assemble a battery pack to store excess charge for times when your prevailing winds are too light to drive the generator.

All things considered, the Earth4Energy product really is excellent quality and also very well priced!

Africa is the place of complete open space, the place where animals and plants run wild and free, but is it always going to be like this…

The world is changing, and more importantly the environment is changing. Africa is one of the hottest location on the planet, and where it is positioned, on the equator line, it can only get so much hotter. It is hard for us to judge just how much Africa will change in the next 100 years, one thing that is clear, is that it will be different.

The temperature all over the world is rising every year, places like Africa won’t be able to support a decent amount of life in around one hundred years. We all try to say that we will do our bit to help save the planet, but how many of us actually do something about it, you will find the numbers are quite low. I don’t want to be Mr Doom and Gloom but people are too unpredictable and only care about there own families and nuclear lives; the planet is something considered for the government to deal with.

So what is the best immediate option? Heading on a holiday to Africa now could be a very good idea. The Safari holidays give you amazing insight into what Africa is all about, and the chance to see these animals in the wild will allow you to experience something that millions of others never will. Although everybody can go and see a lion somewhere, we don’t all have the chance to see one in the wild, and these chances are ever growing slimmer.

These animals are also endangered by poachers; people think that because they are in reserves or national parks that they are now safe and the poaching has stopped. This is not the case, they are still being killed, although not in the numbers it was, it is still happening.

So consider Kenya holidays in the Masai Mara reserve, or Zambia holidays and visit this glowing location while you can.

With all of the fervor these days about the dangers of global warming many people are concerned about the fate of Antarctica. In fact, there is a growing trend of concerned citizens turning to homemade solar water heater systems to help our sick earth. An even more passionate group are embracing the next step to homemade solar water heater and that is the homemade solar generator. Ensure you do your research if you are going to do this. Electrical energy is not for kids. Start by reading homemade solar water heater system and solar generator reviews. Doing this gives you the power to save the earth and Antartica. If it weren’t for our massive reliance on polluting sources of energy, there is fear that Antarctica would not be in such trouble. The fears are that the ice that makes up the continent is melting faster than normal and not freezing back as it usually does with a very even ebb and flow. The concerns are that this will eventually raise the sea level enough to put major cities and land masses under water and leave millions of people homeless and/or even dead.

So who are the people claiming these assertions? There are many scientists who are looking at the earth’s weather patters and systems for a long time in an attempt to interpret them. The earliest reason for doing this was not to measure the affect of the greenhouse gases that are magnifying the suns intensity and causing the heat to stay within it. They originally wanted to learn about the earth so that they could by recognizing signs be could warn of natural disasters like earth quakes and hurricanes and tsunamis. Since they have kept data to look for these signs they have noticed disturbing trends in things like the average temperature and the increasing sea level and other things like the sized of the ice cap over Antarctica and they seem to only be going in one direction which spells trouble.

Then they start seeking out answers to why this is occuring and the answer is typically global warming. They cite the increase in certain gases like CO2 which are purportedly on the rise do to the millions of different engines that burn fossil fuels across the world. Supposedly this changes the qualities of the atmosphere that hold in the energy from the sun much like a green house does. What is not commonly known is that these are all hypotheses to try and understand the general direction of the environment that no one currently has a grasp of. It is a fact that Antarctica melts in areas and at different times. Since we have begun keeping records of these events, there is evidence that the land mass is shrinking, but this is very erroneous thinking.

Of course it has only been a few decades since we have had the ability to make specialized measurements like this. It may seem like that is enough time to make good predictions about the earth which is millions of year old (some say billions). You just can’t make definitive statements about trends that may just be natural cycles that are 500 years in length. No one has yet even measured 100 or 50 year cycles. So we must cool our jets and not take ourselves so seriously. We know much less about Antarctica’s slow meltdown and many other phenomena that appear to be trending towards the same critical point than we realize. We may not know the truth but that should not stop you from making a difference by putting in a homemade solar water heater or solar generator. Make and impact today.

Have you heard that the U.S. is full of possible, and as yet undeveloped, sources for renewable energy? Especially solar energy, but other renewable sources also. For example, we have such things as wave energy (from ocean waves), and wind energy. All these renewable sources have lots of un-tapped potential.

Fossil fuels like coal and oil have powered the western world for over a hundred years. Well, that was then, and this is now. Coal and oil have been used because they were cheap and abundant. Also, these energy sources were simple and convenient to use.

It is now evident that the Earth’s stored fossil energy reserves are running low. Getting at them becomes harder and harder. Then there is the spectre of the Global Warming.

I don’t know about you, but I have come to the conclusion that this issue must be taken very seriously. It doesn’t take a genious to realize that as we burn coal and oil, enormous amounts of carbon dioxide end up in the atmosphere. The origin of this is carbon which has been fossilized and tucked away in the Earth since long before the age of the dinosaurs. Now we humans are opening a Pandora’s box by releasing tremendous quantities into the air.

During the 1900s, there has been an enormous increase of the CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Why is this a problem? It’s because of a property of CO2; the “greenhouse effect”. This gas is invisible to us but reflects infrared radiation back to the surface of the Earth. Which means that as the CO2 level goes up, so will the Earth’s temperature go up also.

You will be affected in different ways depending on where you happen to live. In some parts of the world, it can lead to disastrous consequences – drought, desertification, famine. Plus the polar ice caps are now melting away at a really alarming rate. If this trend continues, the ocean levels could rise several feet. If so, you can expect a watery future for such cities as New York. And large parts of countries like The Netherlands would also end up under water.

What can we do about these problems? The remedy is to make every effort to phase out the use of fossil energy. The time has come for solar panels and other kinds of renewable energy – time to develop their potential. I guess you belive solar panels are way too costly? Not anymore. You can set up home solar panels yourself and save money.

In case you happen to be a rugged and self-reliant person, I am sure you have an interest in DIY solar panels. Get them set up on your rooftop, and thumb your nose at these pesky bills from the utility company. People in the U.S. have a great reputation for being self-reliant action-takers. So, I think they will be able to handle this challenge also.
