We thought we would dedicate this week to Oreo’s sister.  Autumn kitty is Oreo’s best friend and his nemesis.  They hang out together and then every once in a while, one will bop the other in the ears.

I wanted you to have a chance to see the beautiful girl Oreo lives with.  She is about half his size but can certainly hold her own in an ear bopping competition.

Like Oreo, she likes to snuggle.

Unlike Oreo, she likes to do it on her own terms.

She also sometimes enjoyed getting her belly rubbed.

That was gentle scritching.  Sometimes she prefers a little rougher scritching.

She isn’t Oreo but we still love her.

I am so done with school.  The end of the school year feels like it goes on forever, WTH!?!  There are parties (and more parties), concerts, recitals, dances and more concerts.  I have to go buy a shower gift for my daughter’s teacher who is getting married this summer.  Like I don’t have enough to do.

In addition, I have to make pillows, WTH!?!  If they were pillows for me I would just let them slide until school is over but they are for my daughter’s graduation dance.  That means they have to be completed before school is over.   I bet you are wondering why I need to make pillows for a dance (get your mind out of the gutter).  They are for the lounge.  It gives kids someplace to sit.  Yes, they will all be resting their butts on my hard work.

In addition, my oldest is going to sleep away camp for the first time ever, WTH!?!  Apparently I have to label everything she owns (as well as shipping her clothes before school is even finished).  Luckily, we got a good price on the camp.  We purchased it through a silent auction and ended up paying half of what they typically charge.

On top of all of this, I still have to work full-time, WTH!?!  As you can imagine this is all making me a little crabby.  It is also making Oreo crabby.  He hasn’t had the bonding time he feels he deserves.  He just keeps holding on with claws.

Reading on the Internet about everyone’s last day of school isn’t helping my mood, WTH!?!  Don’t taunt me that you don’t have to make anymore cupcakes or craft projects or pillows.  You’re just making me crabbier.

Oreo truly believes he is king of the world.  He thinks we all believe he is king of the world.  In the Small Town, everything revolves around Oreo (in his mind).

Sometimes,  it can be a little difficult always being “up”.

Every once in a while, you just have to droop.

But he always bounces right back.

Oreo took last week off from work.  Actually, we all took off a week from blogging but since that’s the only work he does, he took it off completely.  But don’t worry, Oreo is back to work and here for you.

Don’t worry.  He has been sitting there for months, he has already broken the keyboard.  We now use a portable keyboard for that computer.  Let that be a lesson for you.  The cat, sitting on the keyboard, may break the keyboard.

We are a musical family.  I don’t know how it happened since I struggled through piano lessons growing up but my kids love music.  My oldest plays the trumpet and apparently plays it pretty darn well.  My youngest plays the guitar and has also tried the violin and the trombone (have I mentioned that the trombine is friggin’ huge).

We have been lucky.  Our school has a strong music program and we have only had to schedule guitar lessons.  Although now that my oldest is moving to high school, we may have to add trumpet lessons.

Oreo likes to lie on my belly (apparently it is soft and cozy).  While he is cuddling, he practices new tricks (when he isn’t being petted which is his favorite trick).

I did nothing all day.  No cooking.  No cleaning.  No working.  It was fabulous.

Oreo enjoyed my Mother’s Day gifts.  We (I say we since Oreo uses it too) received a treadmill.  Here is Oreo enjoying the treadmill.

I also received a beautiful drawing of everyone’s favorite cat.

I guess yesterday was actually all about Oreo.

So we had to get a new car.  I wasn’t planning to get a new car.  I didn’t have time to go car shopping.  I didn’t have the money to go car shopping.  I didn’t even have the desire to go car shopping.  Have I mentioned that I hate car shopping (I have never met a car dealer I like)?

Have I mentioned that this is the second time I have been car shopping for my husband since I have bought my car?  That’s right, my car just keeps on going.  I have almost 100,000 miles on my car and it just keeps driving.

So I have spent a large part of this week car shopping.  We did find a car and my husband is mobile again.  We bought him a Nissan Juke (yea, I never heard of it either).

Here’s a photo of it.  It’s actually very cute and so far I would highly recommend it.

He feels my full-time job should be petting the kitty.  He doesn’t understand why that doesn’t happen.

Work has been busy but I feel like a cat chasing my tail (always just out of reach).  I know things will move along, it’s just a tough period (and Oreo wants less tail chasing and more kitty petting).

Oreo missed his Meow Monday assignment, WTH!?!  He has one responsibility and he fell down on the job.  He claims he has been busy with paperwork but I don’t know if I believe him.
