I am putting a list together more for myself than anything of ideas for the liquid phase immediately after surgery and for the first two weeks. I’ve read many places and I’m sure it’s true that for the first two weeks I will be consuming only liquids.

After the first few days I will hopefully graduate to full liquids include the broth of low-fat, creamed soups, protein shakes, milk, yogurt and sugar-free puddings. I will be doing some protein supplements as well, which I’ve read are recommended so that my body will maintain any muscle I have while losing weight.

I will be updating this list as I think of new things or find other suggestions online.

Bottled Water with lemon.

Chicken Boulion cubes - low sodium

Water with Crystal Light pouch

Crystal light popsicles (homemade in those containers from Target)

Diluted apple juice and diluted apple juice popsicles (homemade in those containers from Target)

Diluted grape juice and diluted grape juice popsicles (homemade in those containers from Target)

Gatorade or Propel, Possibly the new G2 which is lower in calories.

Special K20 protein water

Hot chocolate (water based of course)

Imagine Organic Free Range Chicken Broth (FAR better than any bouillon) (Whole Foods Market)

Pacific Organic Beef Broth

Miso soup (YUM! I love this stuff, I hope I can eat it with rice like I always have)

BeneFiber to liquid for constipation issues (Little gross, but probably needed)

I am going to a seminar next Tuesday (4/28) for the Lap Band system that you may or may not have heard about on commercials.

Basically it’s an adjustable band that can be placed around your stomach near the esophagus making you eat less and feel full with less.

I am going to try this approach to my weight loss because I need help. More help than just walking and exercise alone can accomplish. The Lap Band is not nearly as invasive as the gastric bypass or stomach stapling methods and is reversible.

I’ve been doing research about this for quite some time and I’ve found a very informative community here at http://www.lapbandtalk.com. I plan on contributing my journey there as well. They seem very supportive of their users and they have quite lengthy discussions around the Lap Band and life with it. I look forward to being with them.

I’ll post more thoughts soon.

Good day! I’ve mostly forgotten about this site and have had it in disrepair over the last couple years. I had originally set this up to host a community of persons fed up with being large and in charge. I had a few posters, one lady that posted for the better part of half a year or more, then she disappeared from a lot of sites. So, AnnaBanana if you’re reading this, I saved all of your posts before deleting them from here if you want them at all.

Well the time has come for me to stop being fat, and what better way than to blog about my journey back from the brink. I am going to try and document everything I do along the way back to being thin. I will be my own biggest loser. I guess maybe that show has inspired me some.

It sucks being fat, and I’m just tired of it. I haven’t always been a fat person. I made my own choices in life and in eating that have gotten me here. I’m sure this journey will be long and probably painful at times, but I’m ready. I quit smoking because I got tired of it, now I will stop being fat because I am tired of it!

Posting again soon.
