Hi! Welcome to the Sled Island Podcast presented by CJSW 90.9 FM. We’re extremely excited to be offering a new series of episodes for the 2010 festival season. Here’s a quick guide to help you decide which podcast is the one for you!

If you have no idea what we’re talking about, let us give you a quick intro to podcasting. Podcasting is like listening to your favourite program on the radio, only whenever you want! Once you subscribe to a podcast, episodes (audio, video, images, whatever!) are automatically downloaded to your computer whenever a new one comes out. All you need is to download a certain program (called a ‘podcatcher’) that can subcribe to RSS feeds (which are basically web pages containing data that tell your program to download new episodes) such as iTunes, Juice, WinPodder and many others!

The easiest way to subscribe to our podcasts is to click the link to whichever feed you want to subscribe (Enhanced or Standard). In the case of the Enhanced Feed you will be automatically directed to your iTunes program where the podcast will immediately subscribe and begin downloading the latest episode. For the Standard Feed, copy the link given and follow the instructions your podcatcher gives you to subscribe to the feed.

Now that you’re all caught up, we present two options for you to subscribe to: the Sled Island Enhanced Podcast Feed and the Sled Island Standard Podcast Feed.

For the Enhanced Feed, along with a spectacular audio component, we provide a plethora of images, links and chapters to make your podcasting experience as dynamic as possible. The catch: you have to be an iTunes or iPod user. If you fall under that category we highly recommend that you subscribe to this feed to take advantage of all the Internet goodies we offer!

For users who haven’t quite jumped on to the Apple bandwagon, we also offer a Standard Feed that contains an mp3 file that should be compatible with most programs and audio devices. We (except for Craig) love Zune users too!

If you aren’t the commitment type, we also make available a simple download link with each episode in mp3 format for you to download directly and save onto your computer. All you have to do is right-click (or ctrl-click on a Mac) and save-as!

Finally you can also subscribe to the feed URL which will show all the updates to the podcast page. You can subscribe to this in your favourite RSS reader!
