I am in love with the purple and gray color pallette. These colors can be as soft or as bold as you like. The key is to not overdue the purple. Purple is a color that can be easily overdone so use it sparingly and in the right places. Here is how I would use it.

Well it is that time of year again...New York Fashion Week and with that the color gods give us the new hot colors for the upcoming season. Pantone Fashion Color Report for 2010 has been released and I like the palette a lot. So brides, if you are still trying to decide on the colors to design your wedding look no further. I love the pink champagne and tuscany colors. I think I feel an inspiration board coming on.

I was so excited to get the message from Stepanie at Indigo Photography telling me they blogged some of the images from Christine and Bobby's wedding. When I found out Indigo Photography were the photographers I was so happy because I knew the images would be amazing and based on their blog post they did not disappoint.

Christine and Bobby were married in July and it was one of the sweetest ceremonies I have ever witnessed. Bobby surprised his bride with a live performance from one of their favorite bands Glory Dive and the look on her face was priceless. We enjoyed working with this couple and the wonderful mother of the bride.

The Bridal House by SJB Weddings & Events: Charlotte, NC

I am so excited about the expansion of SJB Weddings & Events, LLC! Officially, beginning September 1st (today), we are now the new owners of The Bridal House, a bridal boutique located in North Charlotte. For the past few weeks this expansion has kept me extremely busy, stressed, excited all at that same time. We are still making adjustments to the websites and printing new business cards. So this is still a work in progress.

Adding this company to SJB Weddings & Events will allow us to offer our clients wedding planning services, bridal attire, bridesmaids attire and invitiations. So basically a full service experience. We will be meeting all of our new and exisiting clients at The Bridal House located at 8432 Old Statesville Road in Charlotte, NC.

The Bridal House caterers to the modern and stylish bride who may be looking for a more affordable gown to wear on their wedding day. The hours of operation are Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm. Appointments are encouraged but walk ins are always welcome. Currently the following collections are carried at The Bridal House: Jasmine, Mori Lee bridal and bridesmaids, Bonny, Bari Jay, After Six.

Keep the Kids Busy

What kid does not like a good scavenger hunt? Keep your little guests busy with the simple game of I Spy. At their place setting equip them with the list of items, a pencil and a disposable camera for them to capture the items on film as they find them. Those of you trying to find something to keep the kiddies out of your hair, I think this is a great one. I'll be suggesting this to my September bride for her underage guests.

Last month we had the pleasure to work with an amazing couple Jackie and Serge. They got married and dined in the private dining room of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar located in the Epicentre in Uptown Charlotte. With just about 50 guests, Jackie and Serge had their beautiful ceremony, enjoyed a wonderful meal and had their first dance all in one room. Here are some images from their June nuptials.

Your Fall Wedding: Drink Displays

All creative details to your wedding do not require a huge portion of your budget. You can simply add creative elements and your own personal style in all aspects of your wedding. The drink display at your cocktail hour and reception can be more than just a table with drinks on it. Here are several displays that caught my eye.

This lovely image was found on the Hostess with the Mostess blog, but is a design out of the bestselling book Simple Stunning Weddings.

I love these displays for outside weddings. The tin bottle drink container was found on the PS I Love This Blog. There are so many glass beverage containers out there to easily achieve this simple yet sophisticated look. This image was found posted on Blogger Brides.

The two images below are perfect if you are having your event outside enjoying the comfortable fall weather. I thought it was a great use for an otherwise ordinary item. The boat and wagon can be rented at Vermont Wedding Props.

Loving this bar display. Take the citrus display away and you have just a table and linen. This is a very cost effective way to add color to your event. The fabulous ladies at Elizabeth Anne Designs posted this image.

I totally was not going to blog about this today, but I could not help it. I actually stumbled upon this wedding a few minutes ago.

It is amazing how creative floral designers are and how they can truly see a bride's vision. Take a look at these bouquets. Now they are not for everybody, but if they are for you, you know it. Beautiful. Unique. Not-so-Ordinary for sure. Brides let your creativity show through every aspect of your wedding.

I found these adorable handmade tutus designed by Danbuy Lane on Etsy, If you are attempting to create an amazing unique event consider some not-so-ordinary items. Your cute flower girls will definitely get some "awwwwws" wearing a cute tutu down the aisle. Having a little girl who loves to dress up, I know your wedding would not be the last time your flower girl wears that outfit. :)

Somewhat nontraditional for a wedding, but having some of your favorites are sure to not disappoint your guests. Talk to your caterer about offering a mini version of some of the dishes that have meaning to you. If you are looking to create a "wow" factor to your wedding, serving these treats will surely put you on the right path.

In the past week or so I have been thinking a lot about childhood and remembering how great it was to just enjoy life as a child. I was amazed at how many things I could remember and that they were all such wonderful memories. Sometimes, I do not think we realize the importance of our memories.

Planning your wedding is such a great time, especially if you are in to the wedding planning, but it can also be a very stressful time. I'm not particulary speaking about the stress in balancing your life while planning your wedding, but the stress in making everyone happy. Sometimes if mom is writing the check she wants some say in the wedding. Now, let me be clear some say is good, but all the say is very bad.

This post is to empower you brides and grooms out there to stand up and have a say in your wedding day. You have to feel good and be happy about your wedding day. You want to remember you had your favorite song played or your favorite flowers. I think it is wonderful to compromise and sometimes it is very necessary, but remember these are your memories. Make sure you will be able to remember your day fondly.

One of my favorite wedding trends now is the sassy, colorful wedding shoe. Of course I also love the over-photographed "shoe shot". I know some photographers are a bit tired of it, but it is so amazing to me how a photographer can make them look like something more than just a pair of shoes.
