Using the PPC programs from Google adwords, MSN, Yahoo, 7Search, etc, people have created simple Online ads that link through to a product using an affiliate link, earning them commission on every purchase made through that link.

Other ways people have tried to get massive traffic to their websites is through Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), however as the search engines often have very complex rules and algorithms to decide how sites are ranked in popularity and relevance, this can be incredibly difficult to keep up with.

So, there’s now a brand new advertising model that people are just discovering, which is set to overtake PPC massively in the earnings stakes, for those that take it to the max, the brand new Pay Per View model is the answer to their dreams.

Pay-per-click advertising is easy to do, but making money in such a competitive environment full of market fluctuations can be a nerve-rattling challenge. If you’re focusing all of your efforts on the one big search engine and pay per click behemoth, Google, then it is all the more competitive. So why not step into the other side of the world that really can be as easy as copy and paste?

Look Beyond AdWords And AdSense
For all of the press and blog coverage AdSense and AdWords receive, you might be thinking that the only way to really profit from either side of the advertising equation is to join in the money spreading fray.

In reality, however, veterans of the advertising game know that the competitive nature of AdSense and AdWords make it very difficult to consistently achieve optimal profitability. In fact, there are a variety of less competitive advertising marketplaces with similar features.

For the rest of this article, let us take a look at MSN Adcenter as an example. The last company in the world you would expect to have an obscure advertising program is Microsoft.

But, the reality is that search engines and Web advertising are dominated so heavily by Google that beginning Web marketers seldom look any further. Even some of the big businesses have laid off the experts who know their way around the other pay-per-click advertising mediums.

MSN’s Ad Center
MSN currently accounts for about 1/10 of the online search traffic going around, most of this from beginning computer users who don’t know how to install non-Microsoft web browsers or change their homepages from MSN.

But you can take advantage of the unique demographics of such individuals, and get them at a really discounted rate. Remember that 1/10 still accounts for millions of people on the Web.

MSN Adcenter is easy enough to use that a beginner can do it, though currently it is the crafty online advertising veterans finding their way into the program. Most importantly, if your niche suddenly gains popularity you won’t find yourself outbid by so many dollars per click that you can no longer compete in your niche.

If you are involved in one of those replicating pages affiliate sales and referral programs, MSN Adcenter has less strict rules, allowing you to place ads. On AdWords, you would be blocked from sending people to pages already listed by other advertisers. But MSN Adcenter allows you to send people to these pages at your whim.

This of course doesn’t mean you should neglect the greatest power in Internet media, Google, as an advertising medium for your business. This just means you can diversify your advertising brokers and make many of your campaigns a lot more copy and paste, rather than having to strategy and bid for every advertisement you place.

Whenever you launch a new Google AdWords campaign, it’s likely that you lose some money at the beginning. This is absolutely normal, because the various elements (ads, landing pages and keywords) of your campaign are not optimized at this stage.

Here is what you would normally do:

* For each adgroup, you split-test 2 ads against each other. You delete the losers, you write better ads… You keep on modifying your ads to achieve the best possible click through rate.
* You do pretty much the same with your landing pages.
* You identify those keywords that only cost you money without converting into sales. You add new ones that hopefully convert better.

Now, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this approach, the only problem is that at the beginning you will probably lose a few weeks of your time and some money - the time and money it takes to optimize your campaign.

I tested the AdWords Time Machine (which is part of Keyword Elite 2.0) and found that it can save some time with the setup of Google AdWords campaigns.

Here is how it works: You provide a keyword that corresponds with your product, niche, solution… and the AdWords Time Machine provides you with a multitude of information:

* You get a list of all advertisers that have been running ads within the last 6 months on the keyword you provided.
* You can identify advertisers that are already running successful campaigns.
* For each advertiser, you can retrieve a list of keywords they are currently bidding on.
* You get access to the ads that are used by other advertisers.
* You can check out the landing pages of your competitors with a click of a button.

So, as you can imagine with all this information you will be able to save time in the setup of your Google AdWords campaigns and you have a good chance that your campaigns are already optimized right from the start. However, you should be aware that this is only a tool. The AdWords Time Machine can provide you with some very useful information, but in order to create successful AdWords campaigns you still have to do the majority of the work.

PPC search engine Internet marketing can be a highly successful form of Internet advertising, but there are a few tricks of the trade you need to follow in order to get the most affordable, effective results. PPC marketing is nothing new on the Internet, but it is increasing in popularity. As more and more people are using PPC to reach their targeted audience, the competition is getting tighter and costs will increase. How then can you use PPC search engine Internet marketing, without needing to spend all of your time or money on a campaign? Look for popular keywords that don’t have the highest number of searches. If you are trying to rank for the most popular keywords that currently have the highest amounts of competition, you’re likely to go broke before you get results. The key is to find keywords that are still relevant and popular, without fighting the competition with deep pockets, for the highest volume searches a day. Instead, look for keywords that still have relevant interest, but less competition.

Your PPC campaign is only as good as your keyword research. If you aren’t aware of what your competition is using for keywords and how well those keywords are performing for them, your PPC campaign is losing money. A critical part of PPC is knowing what the other guy is up to. Not only do you need to be aware of the most popular keyword searches, you need to be aware of the post profitable keywords. Keyword research is just as critical to PPC search engine Internet marketing as it is to Search Engine Optimization for your website and marketing articles. If you haven’t got the time or the talent to do keyword research for your PPC marketing, consider hiring a professional team to do this for you. It will be well worth the money you spend in your ROI (return on investment.)

After you create a PPC search engine Internet marketing campaign, the next step is to: Test, test and test some more. In order to discover how profitable any PPC campaign is, you need to test your ads to see what is performing and what is not. One of the most common forms of testing is known as a/b split testing. While this sounds mysterious and technical, a/b split testing isn’t complicated. You simply create two copies of the same ad, with one difference in each copy. It may be the headline or perhaps a certain keyword. Then you simply watch your statistics and analytics to find out which one performs better. The trick to split testing is to only change one thing at a time in your test copy. If you make more than one change, you won’t be able to determine which change brought success or failure.

The concept of pay per click advertising is very simple. You bid on the keywords you feel appropriate to your site you want your search engine listing to appear under. The more you bid and more exposure you will get, the higher the listing ranks and the higher it shows in the search engine’s results for that keyword. It’s an automatic way of generating traffic to your website immediately. But it can be expensive if you do it incorrectly. The key to powerful PPC campaigns is to learn to do keyword research properly. You can find many methods of research online, including through the very pay per click search engines you choose to do business with

This site is an excellent research tool: spyfu.com

It provides data on Average Cost-Per-Click, Current Adwords Ads, Organic Results, Categories and terms others buy with your main term and related terms and concepts. It also shows what your competition is doing by allowing you to see what is working for them!

This site is good for analysis: crazyegg.com

It shows where your clicks are on any page and tells you which links were clicked on. It provides a clear view into what your customers are doing when they are clicking thru. The most important aspect of pay per click advertising is your ad copy. The ad itself MUST be attractive to a surfer. People know where paid listings are and usually avoid them. This is a simple fact based on studies of where someone looks on their computer screen while using search engines. Test your copy, if it isn’t working - change it!

The most significant PayPer Click Search Engine is Google.

https://adwords.google.com

When using Google’s Adwords, be cautious of your expenses. Be sure to set a daily maximum budget that you can afford to TEST with.

The first thing you should know about Google AdWords’ search and content network is that they are two very different animals. To get this point across, put yourself in the mindset of the searcher. If someone is searching for something through Google search, they are already either a) looking for information or b) ready to buy something. Now contrast that with someone that is simply surfing the web and barely glances at the Google ads amongst the pages he / she is viewing.

Since the mindsets of these individuals differ, so must the ads targeting them. For the search network, your ad is informational or you have a call to action of some kind - something (hopefully) the searcher is already seeking. To attract customers using ads on the content network on the other hand, the ad acts more like a distraction and must do exactly that - distract the surfer from their original focus and make them click on the ad.

Since this is the case, two sets of campaigns should be implemented - one specifically for the search network and one for the content network.

A point to keep in mind - the content network runs your ads based on your keyword theme not by each individual keyword as in the search network. So, say for example, you are bidding on the keyword phrase “healthy fruit drink”, your ads will appear on websites that contain one or all of those keywords or fits within the theme of healthy living, healthy drinks or healthy fruit (and quite possibly cocktail sites due to the keyword “drink”).

Therefore, if you are using the content network, you need to be constantly checking the Placement Performance Report offered by Google (in your AdWords campaign, go to Reporting - Reports - Create New Report. Under Report Type, check Placement Performance). Then you want to go through the report clicking on each of the websites that your ad appears, and looking to see if they fit the image and target market you are aiming at.

Make note of websites where you don’t want your ad shown and remove those placements from your campaigns using the same method used for adding negative keywords - except this time it’s with a URL. Eg. [-FreeAdWwordsStuff.com or -FreeAdWordsStuff.com/free] making note to put the minus sign in front of each of the URLs you enter.

One way to get a higher CTR for the content network is to make use of Google’s “Display Ad Builder” which allows the average person to create graphic ads without any previous graphics knowledge. And they even have flash ad templates where you can change the colors, add your own graphics, text and URL - and the rest is done for you.

Display ads will get a higher CTR on the content network but you may not find that to be the case at the start. That’s because Google doesn’t have any historical data for your display ads at the onset and so you may have to set your bid price to double that of what you are paying on the search network to ensure your ads get displayed often enough for Google to collect said data. You should only need to do this for a month or two until Google collects some stats and then brings your keyword costs down based on the CTR that you have been getting over that time period.

The content network can be gold if you know how to use it but it can also eat up your budget in a heartbeat without getting you nearly the same click through rate (CTR) that you can get on the search network.

As with anything you do with Google, you should be testing and testing to see what works and what doesn’t. You may want to try a text ad and an image ad on the content network to see what works best for your particular market and make incremental changes accordingly.

Profiting from AdSense has probably been a rage since a long time. However, there are certain things that you must keep in mind to make sure that you keep generating profits from AdSense.

First of all, if you are building a website then, it would be better if you built a blog and not just a static website. The reason for it is fairly simple. The search engines love unique and fresh content specially if it has been written uniquely as well (everyone does have a unique writing style, so if you write posts on blogs in your style, the search engines simply love you!).

The next step to profiting from AdSense is by targeting the right kind of people to get to your blogs by optimizing your pages for specific keywords. Now, the right kinds of people are the ones that are genuinely interested in reading your information. For example, if you write a post on the blog that is related to increasing their AdSense revenues then, the people who should be targeted will definitely not include the people who have no clue about AdSense at all!

Having stats is the next thing that you should definitely know once you start earning money. Actually this can easily be done through several stand-alone websites and through the stats that are available from Google itself. What this does is enable you to realize which type of ads like text ads or graphic ads would be more beneficial or which placement like the top of the web page or the right hand side would be better. Although, people tend to thin k that the top of the web page is the best location for the ads and text ads are better than image ads, tracking may give absolutely opposite results!

Most of us have limited time to work on our Internet marketing endeavors every day. But with so many different aspects you can work on, which areas do you choose to focus on? When it comes to traffic generation you can either rely on AdWords or search engine optimization. Here are advantages and disadvantages of each, and tips on how to choose which one to focus on.

AdWords

AdWords is great because you can see instantaneous results, and if you are good at it, it just may be all you need to succeed online. But this method of traffic generation does require a lot of practice and you have to become a true master otherwise you can lose your shirt. Most beginners don’t realize how hard it is to have a winning campaign. If you choose to do this method of traffic generation, be sure to learn everything you can about it.

Search Engine Optimization

Search engine optimization is great because it’s a long term thing, and any efforts put in now, will keep working for you for years to come. This is the biggest advantage that SEO has over AdWords. Also search engine optimization and is essentially free, but it takes more time.

Obviously a combination of AdWords and search engine optimization is best. But if you are short on time and have the money to spend, then AdWords might be the best return on your time investment. However. if you are short on money and have time on your hands then SEO would probably be better for you.

Lately it seems like Google is slapping a lot of people who use AdWords to drive traffic to their websites with higher costs. This can be a very frustrating experience and in many cases people don’t really have any idea on why they have been penalized. Here are three things to think about and see if they might be the reason why your cost per click suddenly went up.

1. Low Quality Score

If your landing page is simply a squeeze page without a lot of content, then you will receive a low quality score from Google, which means you have to pay more per click. Another reason why you may have received a low quality score is that your landing page is not indexed in the search engines yet. In both of these cases, you can easily correct the problem.

2. Competitive Niche

Sometimes it isn’t Google that raised the price, it is your competitor. Big companies often raise the price per click as a means of running you out of money and out of the market. Its best to not get in a bidding war, just choose lower in demand keywords.

3. Too Many Keywords

If you stuff a large number of keywords into your adgroups it often seems like you have to pay more per click. If this might be the case, then try to break your keywords into more adgroups.

Sometimes, just by experimenting, and changing a few things you can dramatically lower your cost per click with Google AdWords.

But it can also be a very expensive and frustrating experience if it never seems like you can’t put together a winning campaign. Here are three reasons why you might be currently facing this frustration.

1. Not Enough Knowledge

Google makes it very easy, sometimes too easy to set up an AdWords campaign. Because it is easy to set up, most people think it is easy to make a profit. This is where most people stumble. You have to learn everything about AdWords before you spend one penny.

2. Low Profit Margin

In order for you to be able to pay for traffic you need to sell a product that has a high profit margin and one that has a high conversion rate. Many people think they can use AdWords to sell low profit margin products, but it is very hard to do.

3. Constant Learning

You just can’t learn how to set up a campaign and expect to master AdWords. You have to keep learning. There are professionals out there who work full time at AdWords. What makes you think you can just do it as a hobby and make money?

Like any other skill, if you want to succeed at AdWords you have to be constantly honing your skill set. It doesn’t take hours a day, but it does take a commitment on your part to want to improve a little everyday.
