My reasoning behind this is that I find longer blog posts are generally a lot more difficult to read because they just take too much time and effort! I prefer visiting someone’s blog where the posts are short, sweet and right to the point. But at the end of the day it all depends on what your blog post is about. If it is a tutorial then it will obviously be a little lengthier than your normal post about how you climbed up Mount Everest!

Here are a couple pointers to try a keep your blog posts easy and enjoyable to read:

• Make good use of paragraphs to make it easier for your viewers.
• Keep it short sharp and to the point.
• Use bullet points and lists where you can.
• A picture or two can help spice things up a bit.

People really don’t want to read an essay, so try shorten those long and waffled posts!

It all began on a fine Saturday morning! My boys, the Boks were getting ready to go head to head against the All Blacks and if we came out victories, then we would be crowned Tri Nations Champions for 2009! I’m not going to walk you through the game but let me tell you something; what a game it was! The last 20 minutes was a bit of a hair raiser, but our 32 – 29 victory made me one of the happiest South Africans alive!

New Zealand had been crowned the Tri Nations Champions for 4 consecutive years since 2005 and it was time for us to take back the title which we last won in 2004. Watching the Bokke play with such pride and passion really made me proud to be South African; and I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that.

I felt like I had to record our National Anthem before kick off; have a watch below!

I know a guy; who is a good friend of mine; who is spoilt rotten! I can say that because whenever he wants anything, he gets it, no questions ask! Whereas other people I know wouldn’t dare ask for anything so they would take it into their own hands and try make it happen.

But enough pointing fingers at other people, time to look at myself and see where I lie in this whole saga. Throughout my life I went to the best schools, I always lived in a nice house, in a fancy area etc…. but I wouldn’t say that that makes me a spoilt person, but rather a privileged one. Whenever I wanted something, like an iPod or camera I wouldn’t ask for it but rather I’d work towards getting it for myself. For example, the 30GB iPod I own was awarded to me as a prize in a photography competition; I bought my first digital camera by saving up money by working during my holidays.

Some of you may disagree totally with me and you may even think that I’m a spoilt brat, but I think I’ve just been privileged; and I am truly grateful for all of it!

To be honest with myself and everyone out there, I do have this obsession with trying to come up with new ideas of making money! I’m sure many of you when you were kids sold lemonade to try make a few extra buck, and I myself did too. But since I was quite a naughty little tyrant, me and my best buddy would sit outside the house for about 10 minutes selling juice to passers by, but the naughty streak would kick in and we’d decided that it would be a good idea to throw rocks of sand at passing cars… which ended up in our entrepreneurial lemonade endeavor to be very short lived.

Even through high school I was always out to try come up with some smart idea that would make me some money and now that I am a full time university student my money making aspirations have grown even stronger. When I finished my high school career I started my own freelance web design business (www.CreatiDo.com) which has really started to come into its own lately. Some people may be against the fact that I have this passion for making money, but I say if its something that I enjoy doing then I’m going to keep doing it! Maybe one day I’ll have something amazing under my name!

Photography has been a hobby of mine since I was 14 years old but I have only really experimented and improved since I bought my first digital camera (Canon EOS 400D)  about 3 years ago. Nonetheless I think the camera bag is going to come out of the boot of my car and get back into it again!

What was the reason for all this?

The reason was that I was blogging for no real purpose other than to just publish a lot of posts and  to also try imitate other popular blogs out there in the hope of gaining popularity. If you fall into this trap, like many people do, then it is inevitable that your blog is going to whither away into a big pile of horse shit. At one stage my primary goal was to make money off advertising using Google Adsense and other advertising campaigns, which again is not what makes me enthusiastic about writing.

But over the past month or so it finally hi me! Square on in the face! I need to turn it around and keep my blog going; blogging for the reason I started my first blog almost a year or so ago. That being to write about what I want, things that I know about, things that I’m enthusiastic about and interested in; not just on articles that I think will get hits because everyone is talking about it.

The leaf has been turned and let us watch the tree grow into a an oak of quality writings!
