IGN Charts the Sims Expansions

Sorry again for the lack of news pieces as of late. My PC died and my new one is arriving on the 15th, so things should get better after that.

Anyway, IGN put up a feature which charts all of the TS1 and TS2 expansions. The feature is kind of useless, but is a nice peace regardless. Check it out here

The EP Bracket is over!

I know it has gone on longer then i would have though. But the outcome i predicted happened. In the first post i said that it would be Seasons vs Apartment Life in the finals, and that seasons would win. In the end Seasons got 7/8 Votes. and AL got the 1/8.

Seasons is the best TS2 expansion according to our poll. (Want to voice your opinion?, leave a comment). Thanks to everyone that voted, and look out for our new poll on the right hand side of the site!

EP Bracket Week 6

In our second to last week of the Expansion Back bracket we asked you which was better Seasons or Open for Business (my personal favorite expansion). Seasons won (though only by 1 vote).

This week is the Final Matchup!!!! Seasons vs Apartment Life. Who will win?

EP Bracket Week 5

In out continuing coverage of the Expansion Bracket we have now finished off week 5 of competition. I am sad to report that Apartment Life beat nightlife 15-6 in the Semi Finals. This ends a great run by nightlife, and continues AL's quest for glory. In our Final Semi-finals matchup we pit Open for Business against Seasons. Voting ends saturday.

EP Bracket Week 4

Sorry i'm late with this (i have exams through next week, so i'll be late with a lot of stuff).

Last week we asked you guys for to vote in the last Semi-Final matchup which pitted Seasons vs Pets. It wasn't hard to predict who would win this one. Seasons crushed Pets 89 - 22. Pets grabbed only 19% of the votes. Thanks to all that voted.

this week we ask you, to vote for either Nightlife or Apartment Life. This is the first of the real Semi-Finals to get down to our final 2!

EP Bracket Week 3

So we had a ton of guests this week which raisded the number of people who voted in the EP poll quite a bit. We recieved 145 Votes (normally we recieve 4-6 votes). For a while the poll was quite close between Nightlife and Freetime, but during the last day or so, Nightlife blew the competition away snagging 79 Votes (or 54%). Freetime grabbed 66 Votes (or 45%). Thanks to everyone that voted in the EP bracket poll. We now to come the last of the Semi-Semi final matches which pites Seasons vs Pets. The poll will close next week!

EP Bracket: Week 2

Last weeks poll pitted OFB vs Bon Voyage, with OFB coming out on top. This week we settle another matchup, which i think should be highly competitive. Freetime vs Nightlife. Will the veteran fly ahead, or will the 7th expansion manage to free up some votes? You decide!

Will The Sims 3 Sell 4 Million Units in 2009?

That's what Gamasutra predicts, The Sims 2 sold 3.4 million copies in 2004 after a September launch (Roughly .85 million a month). So it is no surprise that they think TS3 will sell 4 million units from a June Launch (.66 Million a month). They also say that piracy will probably cut into sales much like it has done with Spore. Last week we had a poll asking how much CC you had in your game, and surprisingly (to me anyway) the majority of you said you had little or no CC in your games. 4 out of the 6 votes were either "Very Little", or "none". the other 2 votes fell under "Yes i have tons!"

This week we will begin the EP poll voting, each week it will be 1ep vs another, in a bracket form, until we have a winner. The bracket goes as follows.

Will Wright Ranked Third Top Developer Of All Time

IGN has been doing a top 100 countdown of the best game designers of All time, and today they have released 10-1 of the list. Will Wright managed to snag the #3 spot, behind the greats of Sid Meier, who led the civilization series to stardom, and Shigeru Miyamoto the legend behind practically anything nintendo. IGN had this to say about Will Wright

Will Wright is one of the true pillars of modern game design. His work on SimCity, The Sims, and the recently-released Spore has rightfully earned him a spot among the most celebrated designers working in the games industry today. Wright is well known for his far-reaching and eccentric analysis of the videogame industry as well as his fixation with popular culture. He is one of the few people in the business that can mesmerize a room with his observations on just about any subject you can imagine.

Sims 3 Delay

Most Played PC Games of 2008

Who knew that The Sims (i'm assuming it is The Sims 1) would beat out The Sims 2 in terms of the number of hours logged by Americans? The Sims placed 4th behind Halo, COD4 and World of Warcraft who grabbed the Top spot in the rankings. Blizzard (the company who puts out World of Warcraft) also snatched up 7th place with Diablo II. The Sims Movie Slips into 2010?

The Sims 2 Store, which can be found here, has added a card in which you can buy at most retail stores, so you can buy items off of their store without a credit card. You can find more here.
