Yeah! It’s Justin Bieber My World Tour Concert in Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with this entertaining event, Shinjiru decided to give away free Justin Bieber Concert tickets to its fans and customers.

There were fans selected from the contest run on Shinjiru Facebook Fan Page together with customers who made the highest purchases for April who were entitled for TWO FREE TICKETS to the concert each person.

However, there was more! We have also organized a tea session with our dear fans and customers before the concert started at 8.30 p.m.

The tea session was held at Old China Cafe which located just nearby the venue of the concert.

We planned to have a nice catch-up session with our fans/customers and everything went smooth accordingly during the session. We had our own small tickets handover ceremony and followed by some fun moments chit-chatting with them.

However, there was a little issue on that day which it started to rain non-stop before the concert get to start! We have been waiting for some time and the rain still continued. The fans have no choice but to get a rain coat at the nearby 7-11 convenience store.

Soon after the fun moments we had in the cafe, the fans have decided to depart to the entrance of the stadium. They are still so enthusiastic although they will be wearing the rain coat during the concert.

There goes the fans entering to Stadium Merdeka. Guess they will be having fun inside the stadium entertained by Justin Bieber’s performance. Following our lights off at the Command Center during Earth Hour on 25 March 2011, Shinjiru decided to go a step further by pledging to donate RM50 to WWF Malaysia for every Shared Hosting plan (except Mini Plan) purchased between 25 March and 8 April.

We are absolutely thrilled by the response from our customers. We want to say a BIG THANK YOU for making a difference.

Although the campaign has ended, it doesn’t mean our efforts to preserve the planet stops here. WWF Malaysia has kindly listed some suggestions for the community to practice energy saving.

Some of the things we can do daily include turning off electrical equipments instead of leaving them on standby mode,turning off the tap while brushing our teeth, recycle reusable items, try to go paperless and cut down on plastic waste. Most shopping malls and hypermarkets now practice “No Plastic Day”, but let us start making everyday No Plastic by using our own bags to the shops to carry home our groceries and shopping. Previously on Shinjiru ACAD Vol.1 Part 1, we had a quick review on the morning session of our Annual Conference. We would like to continue our recap with the following happenings. You can expect more FUN to come!

Here we are…

Great sunny day in Hotel Maya, Kuala Lumpur made Shinjiru ACAD to run smoothly as per plannings.

After the morning session with warm breakfast, now all Shinjiru people are heading for another food carnival – Buffet Lunch in Hotel Maya, Kuala Lumpur. *Yummy

Even though we might be busy grabbing for foods (as picture below shows), you still be able to know what are we up to during the lunch time.

Even the toughest guys in Shinjiru cannot withstand the temptation of all these tasty foods.

Plenty of foods were served on the buffet: chicken, seafood, fried rice, turkey, mutton, beef, vegetarian’s food, and even Roti Canai! This is simply Malaysian style.

Also, we must not forget the men that contribute to all these reviews on the FUN that we are experiencing during the event. Proudly present:

Shinjiru Mass Media Team! Kononnya…haha! The professional kit that each of them is using are (from left) Canon 350D, Canon 450D and Nikon D90. 

However, we would like to apologize as there might be an inconsistency in term of the picture quality because some of them are taken by iPhone 3GS which the performance would be rather incompetent to Nikon and Canon DSLR.

Soon after the satisfying buffet, we headed back for the second half of Shinjiru Annual Conference with more motivating speeches and funny games to come. We were happy that the event did not go wrong as according to plan and it ended well with more hopes and goals for Shinjiru in 2011. Finally, the annual conference wrapped up and everyone has gone to prepare for Annual Dinner! While all of us were anticipating for the dinner, we can find our committee is preparing for the GRAND dinner already. *FASTER FASTER!

Security Tips

These tips are basically for the websites which are hosted on shared servers/environment.

(1) Always use latest updated software
Avoid using older versions of software as they are insecure. Use the latest release which includes few security fixes and functionality as well.

(2) 3rd Party Scripts and Code
Plugins, widgets or any other code you usually install on WordPress or Joomla are written by other people under unknown circumstances. Some may be great, some may have security holes. Make sure you research any code you wish to use but you haven’t written yourself. Do a few Google searches before using such code to verify how secure the code actually is.

(3) Secure Your Own Computers
One of the biggest reasons of Identity theft and an easy way for someone to fetch confidential details to your site(s). Your personal computer could well turn out to be a weak link in this. It could be anything, from an infected Powerpoint file or someone phishing your account details, the vulnerabilities are too many to consider. No matter how secure your actual website is, if the machine you use to access, log in and edit your web pages is infected you stand a grave risk of being compromised and its outcome may be more than just the effect on your site.

Use anti-virus scans, clear logs, secure your passwords and be aware of general security issues. Public WIFI spots are also a security risk.

(4) Secure Passwords
A secure password goes a long way in making it difficult for a potential infiltrator to intrude into. Your passwords should always be a combination of letters, numbers and special characters. The longer the password, the better. You can also generate a random password which is even more secure.

(5) Checking Your Logs Regularly
If you spot any unusual traffic spike in your website stats (ranking for gambling, pharmaceuticals and sex terms is a common one) try working out where it is coming from and going to. From there if you can make sure whether it is a hack.

(6) Backups
Taking the backups regularly alone won’t protect your website from being hacked. In case of hack you will need to take care of the following:-
* Records of IP’s accessing your website
* Pre hack backup of your website including the latest updates.

(7) Host on a Virtual Private Server
Host your websites on a VPS server that immediately isolates yourself from the shared hosting environment and being affected by the issues that are invited by other users in the same server.
