<br>Event Description: Greetings Business Persons &amp; Pastors,

You may recall that last November 25 a luncheon was held for business persons and pastors to listen to business persons struggles in a difficult economy. Needless-to-say, the economic climate has not improved but has become more difficult for individuals, businesses and institutions. In discussion with the local MEDA Chapter leadership it seemed appropriate to have some further discussion, to hear each other, and learn how the faith community can appropriately care for each other during these difficult times.

Randy Schweitzer (businessman &amp; MEDA Chapter Chair) and myself (MMA church relations manager for the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Region) are facilitating the lunch. We invite you to continue the conversation with local business persons and local Mennonite pastors concerning the impact of the current economic situation with the business persons in our congregations. We all need to hear and learn from others experiences. The questions we used last November are still quite relevant. I have added several additional questions.

1. After six months of economic exigency, what are the challenges business leaders face here in Rockingham County?

2. What are the difficult choices business persons confront during this economic down turn?

3. How might the church be supportive to leaders in the business community?

4. What are business people learning corporately, individually and as people of faith?

5. What do business persons need from the faith community?

If you are interested in continuing the discussion between business persons and pastors you are invited to participate in lunch planned for June 2, 2009 at 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM at EMU West Dining Room.

Everyone will go through the cafeteria line and take their tray to the West Dining Room. Please pass this invitation along to others who you think might also be interested. We will all be responsible for our own meal cost. Please call the MMA Harrisonburg office with your RSVP--434-3666 by Friday, May 29 so we can give a count to the EMU dining room staff. Hope to see you Tuesday, June 2 at lunch.

Blessings,
Joe
