Justin Faust has long been known around these parts as the lord of the dreamwave-aliciously rad dance floor killers while making you simultaneously shake and swoon. So an early morning email received from the German gent is always a treat and makes me spring forth from my slumber chamber and get to getting on!

This Faust fix revolves around the already tasty tune belonging to Boston boys, Nightriders, with Take My Hand.

The original is a slick space ride through the stratosphere, but Faust does what he does best: giving the song the "Justin Jumps" in that we're now entrenched in an early AM sweatfest due to his deep bass addition. Yeah, it's a bit of a contrast from the JF mixes you're used to, but I guarantee you're going to love it all the same.

If there's two things that I'm really good at doing, it's being hyper AND developing crushes on people, songs and inanimate objects. That said, we've got some tunes full of 8-bit radness that speaks directly to the ADD-riddled schoolgirl underneath this beastly facade.

RebekkaMaria Leaves the "AsIn" Behind as She Debuts New Material

Swedish/Dane, RebekkaMaria, first fell across our desks around this time last year with her brand of inspired and intrgiuing blisspop. Formerly known as AsInRebekkaMaria, the chanteuse nixed the (sorry, yes it was annoying) "AsIn", and has new songs to prove she can stand up to her solo name status.

Rad man, Raj, over at EQ got the dish on the happenings...

"The first album went of in just one tangent so to speak. It didn’t represent me as a complete artist, which is one of the reasons why I erased the prefix As In. That is also why the coming album is much more personal and containing a greater depth than Queen of France. When I am writing music I need silence and solitude. While being alone and away from the city noise, I get in touch with sides of myself that I am not use to in my daily life. For me nature makes a whole other kind of noise."

You know what, we still love her either way...although typing her name is world's easier without the prefix and cheers to that!

Her new single, Oh Solitude, was released with the b-side, Robin Parts, which mixes modern Danish artists with classic composers in a new symphonic sound. Both are highly recommended and definitely Beaston approved!

Roll call: Fool's Gold? Check! Wallpaper? Here! Mariah Carey? Wait...what? Let's do a little explaining.

We geeked out for Fool's Gold's catchily cutesy song, Surprise Hotel, a bit ago...and if there was one recommendation we'd make to make it better, well, we wouldn't look to Mariah Carey first, but then again, we're not the masher here.

When I first heard Surprise Hotel, I felt all these little thought bubbles effervescing in my brain. There is a lot to take in, on a musical level. The original vocal coats this exuberant track with a calm, peaceful beauty. So I started combing the universe for a vocal that seemed as wilin' out as those guitar parts and roughly the same tempo and / or key. Turns out Mariah Carey's Emotions is already in the exact same key (the relative minor) and dances atop the rhythm section like it was born to. This is the first segment of SiSTRS from Different MiSTRS.

Safe to say, we're big fans of this mash. More Mariah is always good Mariah.

Introducing: Donkeyboy

Pop, rock and electronica...all thrown together to collectively amount to one of the most overlooked and easily digestible albums of the year. That, in a few words, sums up the rise of Norway's Donkeyboy.

The Donkeyboy quintet is fronted by brothers Cato and Kent, who write and share lead vocal duties on almost all of the band's fresh, melody driven and 80s-inspired songs. The siblings are joined by Thomas, Peter and Alexander, who take care of drums, guitar and bass duties. Formed in 2005 the band are now ready, willing and more than able to scale the heights of the international pop world.

Releasing their debut single, Ambitions, in March of this year, followed by first album, Caught in a Life, last month, the lads quickly have secured a loving spot in the land of Beastonia.

Second single, Sometimes, is equally refreshing and catchy. So much so, that fellow Norwegians, a-ha, have asked the band to support them on the UK/Oslo leg of their Foot of the Mountain tour later this month.

Every time we type this Hungarian power duo's name, we feel a little naughty...and we like it! Then we move forward and listen to their dynamic reworks, and we get even filthier, because their mondo ace mixes make us want to do all sorts of devious things.

Tits and Clits produced this remix of Royksopp's Tricky Tricky for the competition that the Swedish boys had surrounding the release of the single. It's a wobbly and wickedly worked over fix of the original...keeping Dreijer's vocals in tact, instead opting to shake up and strip down the instrumentals.

Play count so far this morning: 5 and not stopping...

Royksopp recently released their newest single, This Must Be It. So, you know, go buy it here, cause there are some super sweet mixes included in the package.

Kite in the Air - Magic Marker

It's a known fact here in Beastonia, that I await with baited breath at the mere mention of new music coming out of camp Kite in the Air. They've impressed with every effort thus far, so it's so surprise that in getting an email late this aftenoon from lead vocalist, Emma, that there would be the subsequent post immediately afer listening.

Kite in the Air blew me away with their self titled debut EP back in May, so word of a second EP, due out later this month, makes me smile like no other.

Tonight, I've got the title track off of the late November release, Magic Marker, and can I just take a minute to revel, and say...WOW. The trio of Emma, Mike and Jed dive into an electronic pool of softly touching elements and emerge, drenching listeners in a wave of liquid love. Keep it locked in til the 2:00 minute mark when the song beefs up a bit and the always tight production takes the song to a bigger and beefier level.

Sit back and say aaaaah.

I needed a bit of new tuneage to get me through the waning hours of this long work day, and like a beacon of badassery, we've been hit with a dose of dub love.

First up, it's confession time. I do love Whitney Houston's "it wasn't my comeback single, but it's getting all the attention it deserves" song, Million Dollar Bill. Penned by friend, Alicia Keys, the song is suited in range and style for a woman who's "been through it all".

And yes, while we do dig it in original form, we truly get down when we throw on Vin Sol's edit.

Think of it this way. If you were listening to the song in a washing machine with a sketchy tickety tock snare beat laced throughout, it could only get worse, right? WRONG! Vin does exactly that and amps up the cred factor to this already Beaston-approved tune.

Give it a spin [cycle] and let us know what you think!

Kitsuné Maison 8 Showcases on MySpace

Three of the bands featured on Kitsuné Maison 8 recently swung by the offices of MySpace for an intimately awesome jam session, in quite the tiniest of spaces. No big though...the sound is still big!

Kitsuné took over the office, inviting Chew Lips, My Tiger My Timing, and Crystal Fighters over to show the 'Space cadets what they're working with. Check out the video below.

This just further enhances my love for all things Chew Lips. And hey, we're still on board with all things based around the other two acts as well!

Ok, so this post title might come off as outdated if you've been hot on Zambri for the past few months, much as we have. So in digging through my archives, I was appalled that I had yet to actually write anything about the pairing of NYC sisters, Jessica and Cristi Jo. Hence, their introduction...

Zambri caused quite a stir late last month with handful of dates during CMJ. Being hailed as everything from a mix of Bjork to Bat For Lashes, doused with Siouxsie and New Order influences, the sisters make an immediate impact with their poignant lyrics, perfectly crafted and experimentally relevant poprock.

The duo, along with supporting cast Chris, Andy and Carrie, released their Bang for Changes EP early last month (buy it here); a collection of seven songs ranging from ethereal noise to dreamy pop and everything in between. I'd guarantee you'll fall head over heels for the song w/Somebody within the first 30 seconds...and it only gets better from there.

Miike Snow Announces North American Headlining Tour for Spring 2010

This bit of news thrills me greatly. Earlier this fall, Miike Snow tore through 2 dates of NYC showery, and sadly, we missed both of them due to other concert engagements. Now, with the announcement of a headlining tour, sadcakes no more shall we be.

Receiving great reception for their live translations of the highly refined electronic compositions featured on their self-titled debut, the combination of Swedish producers and multi-instrumentalists Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg along with New York-based songwriter Andrew Wyatt expand on their dynamic sound with a six-piece band.

Mikey has gained attention from major recording artists including 50 Cent, Flo Rida and David Guetta, each of whom he has had the opportunity to play with. He's also notched the notoriety of a fickle blogosphere with his fix of the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys big apple anthem, Empire State of Mind.

We've got a new mix from him, and it's a straight up dirty banger. First, we tell you that Pharoahe Monche is one of our favorite emcees in the game. Second, we'll let you know that after a sleepless night, we're so wide awake after having heard his rocked out edit of Simon Says.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll fill you in on another of his stellar mixes...which rehashes Dan Hartman's disco dance floor staple, Relight My Fire.

Last month, I let you in on the news that was the announcement of Tiesto's next single from latest studio album, Kaleidoscope. Escape Me features CC Sheffield on vocals, and is easily transferrable from a club filler to a radio player.

And with the single officially coming out later this month (November 23), we're in the know on more details and goodies to bestow upon you. First off, a bit about the song itself. Escape Me pairds C.C.’s raw rock vocals, a driving bassline that belies a pop punk influence and Tiesto’s wondrously euphoric sound that bears the makings of a track headed to the top of the dance charts.

Preceding the single release is the video for the song which you can view below.

To coincide with the release of Escape Me, 4 very special remixes will be included in the packaging, including fixes from Italian Italo giant Alex Gaudino, electro duo LA Riots, a progressive cut from Marcel Woods and a sizzling mix from Stockholm's Avicii.

There's a majorly mondo killer show happening in NYC tomorrow night, and basically, if you're not in attendance, then I don't know you. All jokes aside, this lineup is one of unique beats, eccentric personalities and ultimately, some of the most quality crafted music you'll soon come across.

Starting off with Portugese headliners' Buraka Som Sistema, le poisson rouge is sure to be set ablaze with a verifiable firestorm of hot beats and even spicier dancers. NYC's own Maluca will be opening, bringing her tropical ghettotech badassedness to the masses.

Introducing: Versant

Sweden, the unofficial headquarters of epic-creative-pop, seems an inevitable launching pad for Versant. Led by Carah Faye, former frontwoman of yes, those Shiny Toy Guns, the band synthesizes the melodicism of a true pop siren with up-to-the-minute textures that can ignite both dance floors and dirty rock clubs.

While the troupe was deciding to split time between Vänersborg of that rad country, and Newbury Park, CA, Versant began to draw from real-life experiences to reveal their difficult, but ultimately transcendent, lessons.

While playing a small handful of dates over yonder, their stateside arrival will be featured as a highly anticipated showcase at SXSW. Prior to the March fest, Versant will drop their self-titled debut on February 17, 2010.

We've got three demos to share with you and want to know what you think about this talented band. If you are/were a fan of Shiny Toy Guns, you'll most certainly love the sounds that this 5-piece puts together. I've got my favorite from the available songs below (if you know me well enough, it'll be easy to rell which I lean towards)...but I'll weigh in on that at a later date. Enjoy!

In a huge departure from our last post, local boy Terror Dactel knows exactly to make me go from reveling in reflective tunes to raging my damn face off in a split second. Let's see/hear what duderman's got up his mixin' sleeves today.

Fellow Subdrive member, Charlie Tippie, approached the dinosaucerous DJ to do a dance remix of his song, Vocaloid, but as it turned out, it became another version of the originally minimal hipl-hop infused track.

Together, the boys are also working on an EP...AAAAND, Terror man promises he's got some surprises for us in the coming weeks. Hell and yes!

Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart

Lately, I've been on this kick of listening to absolutely gorgeous songs on repeat for extended periods of time...especially when in the throes of a busy workday. It calms the nerves and lowers the stress level. And so goes the tale of my reaffirmed love of Alicia Keys.

With new album, The Element of Freedom, due out December 15, Keys is set to hold a constant spot in the Beaston rotation if her first two singles are any indication of what's to be expected from the full release.

Doesn't Mean Anything, a late summer output that mixes Keys' soulful vocals with a driving beat, was an immediate attractor of my attention. However, new single, Try Sleeping With Broken Heart, which debuted two weeks ago, is exactly THAT song I need in my life to keep me grounded.

In recent interviews, Keys mentioned that many of the songs on the forthcoming release focus largely on huge drums, and Try Sleeping... follows very much in that formula, while continuing to impress with emotionally minded lyrics and a seamlessly perfect arrangement.

Safe to say this will be one of my most listened to songs of the year. Yes, even the Beast pulls away from thumping electropop remixes from time to time, in order to give the utmost credit where due.

Baby Monster - Ultra Violence and Beethoven (Remixes)

About a month ago, I introduced you to Baby Monster, a northwest US bred duo worthy of all sorts of love and affection when it comes to mysteriously cool electropop.

I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get to catch the boys during CMJ...a solitary blogger's life throughout that week is a rough and insanely busy one, yo! But thankfully, we've got a bit of news from the team of the monstrous babies and we're pretty psyched about that.

Ultra Violence and Beethoven is Baby Monster's first single, and it's set to be released on November 9 through 50 Bones.

Coming along with the original track, are two heavy hitting remixes. The first, from Frenchman Mondkopf, takes a superbly gritty and crunchy routewhen tinkering with the song. The other comes from Irish duo, Arveene and Misk, and pairs a dreamwavey dub wash over the entire mix.

We couldn't decide which we like better, so we're giving you both of them!

Aqua - My Mamma Said (new video!)

Earlier this summer, Danish darlings of the dance floor, Aqua, released a greatest hits album that included sixteen of their smashes along with three new tracks. We slightly swooned over new song Back to the 80s, but it was fresh jam, My Mamma Said, that gave me the fits of joy.

Last month, it was announced that My Mamma Said would be the band's next single, and now there is a brand new video to coincide with the release news. Watch as Lene, Rene, Soren and Claus enjoy a demented dinner party.

Aqua are so weirdly wonderful, creating the poppy kind of tunes that are undeniably and unmistakeably effective in both their native country and throughout the world. They'll head into the studio early next year to begin recording their third studio album.

With mentions of a new album, We Are Born, in 2010, alongside penned and produced works for friend Christina Aguilera, this year has been quite a tease of news from the camp of Aussie darling, Sia.

So naturally, I got all sorts of excited when perusing the telly channels a few weeks ago and hearing a familiar tone flowing over the visuals of a luxury car commrcial. And yes, if you think that song sounds familaiar, it's because it is a cover of The Church's 1988 hit, Under the Milky Way. Churchman Stebe Kilbey has his own thoughts on the new take here, but we think Sia's version is simply smashing!

Based out of our fine Lower East Side, The Knocks are emerging as a force to be reckoned with as far as music production is concerned. Consisting of Ben "DJ B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson, the duo is named in reference to the early days of their production career when they worked out of their home studios.

The boys have garnered a ton of critical acclaim for their mixes of tracks from Marina and the Diamonds, Passion Pit Wale and more. So much so that a certain pop star commissioned the kids to rework her tri-nogamous new single.

The dudes say: "We were asked to remix Britney's new hit single 3. It is an official remix so will be being released by Jive Records with the single and will be available to purchase on itunes this week. Other official remixes done by Discotech, Wolfgang Gartner & more."

It's safe to say we're pretty enamored with their take on the track. Give a listen to the equally killer club and radio edits from the boys.

Last week, Lissy Trullie re-released her debut EP, Self-Taught Learner, which included 4 new songs. But the tunes that remain stuck in my brain are the ones originally put out, especially and most notably, the title track.

With the newly freshened up EP having been bestowed upon us, we've got a super slick remix and the recently debuted video for Self-Taught Learner. Peep the visuals first and then jump below for some commentary on the fixed piece of fire.

Toronto disco duo, TMDP, have just finished a remix for the single. The remix itself is an italo-infused slow jamfrom the lads who've just finished a Canadian tour with Shout Out Out Out Out. TMDP are back in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2009 self-titled debut on YYZ Records.
