Ah…remember my old sewing space? i say old because it was before we moved so i no longer have this space to create in. However i have a smaller space now which i  love just as much and plan on sharing it with you all soon.

As always i find myself searching for anything sewing I found my self searching for sewing spaces and found these which i simply had to share

No words can express how much i adore Danielle’s space. The simple ways she decorated her space such as covering the cabinet doors, the boxes, the colourful lanterns. One word “creative” and you can totally see that the beauty is in the details baby!

I love how bright and colorful her room is. The blue walls, the white furniture brings a sense of calmness just what the mind needs to create.

Now this is my kind of room i can see myself in Linda’s craft room, love  EVERYTHING about this room from the colors, the layout the fact that she used an old crib spring to decorate her walls, now that’s what i call crafty!

The guilt i carry around for not blogging for not keeping you all updated has eaten me up because i know that you care..so forgive me..

This has to be one of the hardest posts i have ever had to write because its so personal, i hope that you will not judge nor critize me for what i am about to say

Change

As we get older we realise that life is all about adapting to constant change in our lives. Some changes are good and some are not so good we just have to make the best out of every situation and move forward in achieving our goals.

Last December Sew Chic and Unique was launched and it was an amazing feeling to finally cross out that off my to do list!

The support i got from everyone simply blew me away my family, friends and even strangers were so happy for me. Got calls from the media for interviews, increased visits to my website and not to mention the increase in orders was simply unbelievable.

However that meant a lot of work needed to get done such as

•  finding the next trend to prepare the next collection, new fabrics, new products etc
• choosing fabrics, cutting and making the products
• taking pics of the products and launching them on the site
• promoting on social media (blogging, tweeting, on FB, YT ) and locally by attending bazaars which means more sewing

I could go on about other things that need to be done, and as much as i loved doing them, it was too much to handle for me and i decided to take a break. And by break i mean a loong break to figure out the path of SCU which will mean hopefully hiring a pair of hands to help me manage it all.

This under no circumstances means GIVING UP, because if you know me well you know that this word DOES NOT exist in my dictionary.

I am a perfectionist and as much as i like that trait about me it makes things difficult because i know that i can do BETTER, hence why i am taking a break to come back bigger and better!

Through my blog i will continue to share tutorials and inspire and push you to follow your passion because i believe that we all have it in us, and deserve to do something we love.

Once again i thank you for your support on my journey to achieving my dreams because i simply wouldnt have done it without you.

As much as i love working from home but being able to simply take a break from sewing/blogging etc to look after my daughters is ONE of the best perks from being a mompreneur.

Good news is that the girls are feeling much better alhamdulilah and are back at school this week, which means i got to spend some in my sewing room making new products for the shop.

I am super excited to share that Sew Chic & Unique are featured in the latest issue of The Woman magazine.

A couple of weeks ago i was contacted by The Woman magazine who were preparing for their March issue and wanted to feature me as one of their Mompreneurs. I nearly fell of my seat from excitement, as i was glad that Mompreneurs were being given a voice by one of the most popular women’s magazine in the country!

It was lovely meeting Rekha who conducted the interveiw & Rajesh who took that picture of me {happily} posing with my sewing machine.

Yup that’s me alright..

The first  thing you notice about me is probably that i am wearing something over my head!

To some of you it may come as a shock and to others not so much. However as i get a lot of readers from various parts of the world, i thought its about time i blogged about it.

I am Muslim and i wear the hijab aka as {the veil, headscarf/head covering}.  As  muslim women we are required to cover our hair, its a commitment we make to Allah and today i want to share with you my hijab story.

So what i am trying to say is that i am just like you a human being, a mother, a wife, a person who has feelings and likes to be treated with respect. Believes that everyone should have the right of freedom and to live in peace, and just like you hopes that the end of pain, loss and suffering is near.

I have been meaning to address this issue for a while now  and i finally did today, thank you for joining me on this ” very personal”  post, so glad i did it.

Body scrubs is one thing that i refuse to buy from the store because one can easily make their own with ingredients from their kitchen cupboards. I am super excited to share this brown sugar scrub recipe. Ever since i started incorporating natural ingredients into my skincare i seem to have developed an addiction to it {oh, yeah its that good}

So recently I have been really into making my own scrubs and  my skin seems to be loving the outcome!

Ok so let’s get started you will need the following ingredients:

1/4 cup brown sugar

2-3 tbs EVOO (i like for my scrub to be oily) so add as little or as much as you want!

1 tbs Honey

a couple drops of vanilla extract~ Mix the above ingredients and store in an air tight container.

It should look something like this

~Use it on damp skin and once you apply scrub lightly in circular motions for about 30-60 secs.

~Rinse it off with warm water and pat dry.

You skin should be feeling soft and moisturized   {at this point i normally apply my eye cream and head off to bed}

Oh hello there..yes…yes i know its been a while since i blogged and believe me i feel terrible about it. I just have so much on my plate working  for Sew Chic and Unique, looking after the house and the kids is keeping me on my toes alright!

I miss you guys terribly and can you believe its MARCH already?! i mean what happened to January and February, time  just passes by so quickly subhan Allah!

So the month of February is here and well its hard NOT to notice that everyone seems to be talking about Valentine’s day! and what better way to show your loved ones that you care by giving them something handmade?

Crafters get all happy too as they just embrace the month of LOVE and make the cutest things that i simply HAD to share…..

I personally dont celebrate Valentine’s day because i believe love should be celebrated every day, and if i care about someone i should tell them NOW as in today, this instant because tomorrow might be too late.
