Google has called the content sites of poor agricultural quality. To start, Google has introduced this change in the U.S. and will expand to other years. Google says that their goal is simply to give people the most important answers to questions as quickly as possible and ensure that the quality of the results allows the company to improve the Google search box.

Amit Singhal, Google fellow, and Matt Cutts, senior engineer at Google, said: "This update is designed to reduce the range of low-quality sites, sites that are of little value to add users to copy content from other sites or sites that is not only very useful. They also give a better ranking of quality websites with original content and data, such as research, in-depth reporting, analysis, reflection, and so on.

According to Google, they will significantly change the power of 11.8 percent of searches on Google.com. "Google depends on high-quality content created by the wonderful sites around the world and we have a responsibility to promote a healthy ecosystem web. It is therefore important for places of high quality to be rewarded and that's exactly what this amendment does, "the company said.

Is Social Media Boosts Sales

Is the question that all people seeking to know about SEO, and now one organization carried out some study and come up with results which proved that Social media playing a vital role, it's says 51% online buyers are depending on search engines where as 48% people depending on search & social media to take decisions, may be this behavior may increase over the time as Google, Bing search engines looking to integrate their social into the regular results.

For more information please visit: Social Media Boosts Sales

New Feature Coming Soon to Google Labs

The new feature coming soon to Google Labs. A good e-marketing campaign will be very vocal about clear, honest, opt-in propositions. Pitch it to lists of people who've already visited your site, visited your store or mailed in your response card.

2.Grow your list the hard way:
Here's the bottom line: You want more e-mail addresses to hit with your message, while consumers increasingly want their privacy. The web-savvy consumer is realizing that his personal data is valuable to you, so on your website you have to propose a transaction: You have to offer information, value or privileges in return for a little initial consumer input. And for each extra item of data you want from them, you have to offer more. Again and again. You acquire customer knowledge one fact at a time.

3.Lead with your brand:
Go for recognition. If you develop an effective viral vehicle that people willingly circulate on your behalf, you've got it absolutely right. But if not – and it's not easy to do – then you need to play the brand card in your e-mail messages. Use the brand name in the subject line to jog the recipient's memory and remind them that they authorized this communication. On the increasingly forbidding e-landscape, trust and trusted brands are becoming the only acceptable coin of the realm.

4.Serve your customer's agenda:
Make offers that should logically appeal to the target audience. Avoid making offers that differ from their prior interests, or lean on too little history. If you're in the box business and your list is made up of known box buyers, that's easy enough. But for many of us the targeting isn't that simple - it can be far broader than that. Don't rely on 'automated agenda sensors'.

5.Be driven by customer lifetime value:
It's a mistake to think that tricking consumers into dealing with you will build a long-lived business. A misleading offer, or a coercive and confusing website experience, may score a few visits in the short term - perhaps even a few dollars earned - but repeat business is better. The world wide web is good at maintaining and deepening relationships, if it is used correctly. Craft your opening messages and introductory pages as if the whole future of your business depends on their tone - which, in fact, it may do.

Importance of Web Analytics for E-Marketing

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 306px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvqDh9y2Y21n-q2IvedcVGHEpGbnvLrdge99sRD5nKd0BgJjfkRyUBmgC5M5LOc2bOhCnjgLCrDRVQ7z3ePZnmz845eNrWqSQ58jNDlswyKEZlED9gInvyze9SPxgHP9SRCmPFsAUeFNCt/s320/Importance+of+Web+Analytics+for+E-Marketing" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5328569374571444690" />
What is Web Analytics:
Web analytics is the study of the behaviour of website visitors.

What we want to find out from web analytics is where the visitors come from and then what they do on our website. There can't be any dead content on our site.
Bounce rate sounds like a make believe metric. In general, there are two types of the sitemaps is there.

1. The first type of sitemap is a HTML page listing the pages of your site.
2. And the secound one is XML Sitemaps - usually called Sitemaps, with a capital S - are a way for you to give Google information about your site.

By Creating and submitting a Sitemap helps make sure that Google knows about all the pages on your site, including URLs.

Sitemaps are an easy way for webmasters to inform search engines about pages on their sites that are available for crawling. In its simplest form, a Sitemap is an XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL (when it was last updated, how often it usually changes, and how important it is, relative to other URLs in the site) so that search engines can more intelligently crawl the site.

What is a navigational search?

When searchers use a commercial web search engine to go to a specific website, the search query is classified as a navigational search.Navigational searches are more common than one might imagine. In fact, you probably perform navigational searches without realizing it.

For example, suppose you want to go to eBay to do a little shopping. How do you arrive at eBay’s home page? Do you:

1. Go to the address bar in your preferred web browser (Firefox, Explorer, etc.) and type in: www.ebay.com?

2. Go to Google and type in the word “ebay” (without the quotes) and click on the first link in the search engine results page (SERP)?

3. Use the search function in your browser toolbar and type in the word “ebay” (without the quotes) and click on the first link in the SERP?

4. Look through your bookmarks and select the eBay option?

If you do numbers 2 and/or 3, you have performed a navigational search on a web search engine. You are using Google, or your preferred web search engine, to navigate to eBay’s home page.

Navigational keywords are the words, phrases, abbreviations, and portions of domain names and URLs that web searchers use to go your website via the commercial web search engines. For any SEO project, you should always make it easy for searchers to find your official company website.

Benefits of link building

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 219px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwKRc3t3VTikJgl2jW0c_hXDFpAynZCNQcmluRi9n_1_xALVaxU86SA_xE1zkSdUw41YhzkplNQGK0RIjy3wW8BCcSoi2dfAi6SpqtNeAvBRJzV_5yDWjAVDlVC9ljJpCuBw1PZNqArila/s320/Benefits+of+link+building" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327022570913719330" />
1. Increase search engine rankings:
As you get more links pointing to your own site from external sites, your site’s rankings will improve. If you create a link building campaign, over time your site will continue to move up in its rankings because it is getting more popular.

2. Creates an authority web site:
If you obtain lots of links from sites that are related to your web site, it will become the “go to” site for that topic. Search engines are always adjusting their algorithms to get more specific results for searches.

3. Improves Page Rank:
Google rates the significance of your web page on a scale of 1 to 10. If you have the Google toolbar installed on your browser, it displays a sliding green scale for every web site you visit. A high page rank means your site has many links pointing to it and will often rank higher than web sites with a low page rank.

4. Get indexed quickly:
New sites suffer from an aging delay in Google. It will take 6-8 months before your site appears in Google. Getting links from other sites to point to yours will result in your site getting indexed almost immediately by search engines other than Google. By continuously building links, your site will eventually obtain a good ranking when it shows up in the Google results’ pages.

5. Deep indexing:
If you work on getting links pointing to different pages of your web site, the search engines will index those pages faster than if you just have links pointing to your home page. Other pages within your site that are linked from this web page will then get indexed and improve their rankings also.

6. Multiple entry points:
Building links to other pages within your web site creates multiple points for visitors to enter your web site. They will naturally visit the other pages of your site by following your navigation links.

7. Get listed in paid search engines:
Most search engines don’t allow you to get listed without paying a fee. Building links to other pages within your web site is a great method to also get listed in the paid search engines because they simply follow a link from another site linked to yours.

8. Index dynamic web pages:
It’s not easy for search engines to index dynamic pages. Web pages that get indexed usually end with .htm .html .shtml .php .pdf Dynamic pages usually end with a question mark or contain a lot of numbers. Using proper link building strategies will allow dynamic pages to be indexed and also gain high rankings.

9. Stay ahead of your competition:
Targeting specific keywords and/or keyword phrases during your link building campaign, will keep you ahead of your competition. Therefore it’s imperative to be persistent in getting a high number of quality links pointing to your web site.

10. Boost web traffic, visitors and sales:
High traffic sites that point to your site help to increase the number of visitors coming to your own web site. It can be compared to having your shop in a mall. Visitors roaming the mall will also visit your shop because it is located in a high traffic area.
Some visitors from high traffic sites will be redirected to your site, thus increasing your overall traffic and visitors. If your web copy is enticing enough for your visitors, the increased traffic will generate more sales.

What Enables Conversion to Take Place.

A visitor landing at the site should immediately feel comfortable with the site. First impression matters a lot. For conversion to take place one must hold the visitor's attention once visitor lands on the site. Some of the points to note that make for easy conversion are:

1. The website should load fast: The next site is a click away. If the site loads slowly then visitor clicks away and by which a potential customer is lost. Usually, graphics, animations, are the cause of slow loading pages. Using some software, available free on the internet, to reduce the size of the graphics so that they load fast.

2. The site should have a professional look about it: It should at first glance portray a quality site. This adds a little bit of credibility to the site. The site is then seen as a serious site.

3. State the case quickly: Let the visitor know what the site is about in a few words. Don't go rambling about the achievements. That can come later. Give the visitor what he is looking for.

4. Arrange the content in an easy to understand way: While using Tables or CSS for site design, make sure the content is arranged in such a way that the visitor moves from one section of the site to another without confusion or frustration. If catering to different kinds of visitors, demarcate the site or page clearly showing these different sections for visitors.

5. Include Privacy Policy, Phone Numbers: About Us information on every page of the site. This builds some element of trust. Visitors may not click to these pages but the fact that they are there builds some credibility.

6. Do not irritate the visitors with bad grammar or typos: Check and crosscheck the content. Ask somebody to read through the content and point out grammatical errors and typos. These kinds of errors portray a site as unserious and therefore suspect.

7.While using banners use them sparingly: Do not allow the banners to distract the visitors from the desired action to be taken. Banners are been clicked on less and less these days.

How to Calculate Your Conversion Rate:
your conversion rate for any action on your web site is the percentage of total visits that result in the desired action. This is simply measured by dividing the total desired actions by total visits.

Example: 3,000 total orders; 100,000 visits.
Sales conversion rate = 3% (3,000/100,000)

About Session ID

A session ID is a unique number that a Web site's server assigns a specific user for the duration of that user's visit (session). The session ID can be stored as a cookie, form field, or URL (Uniform Resource Locator). Some Web servers generate session IDs by simply incrementing static numbers. However, most servers use algorithms that involve more complex methods, such as factoring in the date and time of the visit along with other variables defined by the server administrator.

Every time an Internet user visits a specific Web site, a new session ID is assigned. Closing a browser and then reopening and visiting the site again generates a new session ID. However, the same session ID is sometimes maintained as long as the browser is open, even if the user leaves the site in question and returns. In some cases, Web servers terminate a session and assign a new session ID after a few minutes of inactivity.

Conversion Rate

The percent of users searching with the term/phrase that converts (click an ad, buy a product, complete a transaction, etc.)
Web site Conversion rate is the number of visitors to your site that take the desired action against the total number of visitors in a particular period or time.

The desired action could be;
• Sales
• Subscribing to your newsletter or book-marking a page.
• Taking a survey.
• Downloading a software or ebook
• Clicking on a link.
• Going through the process (clicking from page to page ) before clicking on the order button.
• Etc

Page Rank

Page Rank (often denoted PR) is a quantity defined by Google that provides a rough estimate of the overall importance of a web page. Many factors influence Page Rank, thus it is a poor indicator of how well a page ranks for particular keywords.

Page ranks are defined numerically, from 1 through 10 - 10, being the highest. Very few pages have a page rank of 10, and anything above a 6 is considered very well. There are many factors that determine a page's rank, but the main variable seems to be based on how many websites link to your page.

Search engines rank Websites based on two major factors:
• Very exclusive content with related keywords in the body
• Link popularity - number of back links on your Website.

Importance of Page Rank:
Page rank is extremely important, in that it determines how high you get on search engine results. And just as it's helpful to have your incoming links be from reputable, trusted, relevant sites, your outbound links will also be more valuable to those pages you do link out to.
The higher your page ranking, the more desirable a link from your page will be to others - Including those willing to pay for said link.

Various ways to increase your page rank:
• Build more pages: Make sure to have at least 8 relevant pages including the main page, in order to have a healthy amount of content.

• How To Generate More At Cost: Getting a high ranking site to link to you isn't always the easiest thing to do. Sometimes it is necessary to buy that privilege via ads.

• Create Internal Links: Not only are you creating another link for the crawler, you're also making it convenient for your guest to find that page right then and there, if they so desire.

• Utilize Free Directory listings: They may not always be big high ranking sites, but they are an easy way to get your name out there.

• Avoid Dead-end Links: Make sure every page has a door out, other than a back button

Google uses a number of patented algorithms to determine the exact ranking of every indexed website. They also attempt to index as many websites and pages as they can possibly find. In order to do this they utilize tens of thousands of different hosts and over a dozen data centers.

Other important factors that determine your ranking are the architecture of the site, relevant keywords, title, underlying code and content of the site for making your site more appealing to the search engines.

Page rank is not the be all and end all, and people should not become too angry if they are not able to for example obtain a page rank five straight away. I believe hard work pays off and that a website should be seen as a long term project.

Page rank is a very real and vital aspect of web development that should always be kept in mind. Without it, your chance of being found easily on search engines is compromised. With it, you'll be on your way to a highly successful website.

Strategies to Avoid

Some strategies hyped in the past should be avoided because they're now worthless or can get you penalized in search engines.

1. Link Farms: A link farm is a network of sites linking to other sites for the sole purpose of increasing link popularity. Search engines consider this spamming.

2. Reciprocal Link Exchange Services: Networks consisting of hundreds of webmasters with sites on numerous topics are linked to one another. The service requires linking to all sites in network, making content unrelated. Search engines consider this spamming.

3. FFA Listings: Free for All listings appear and disappear rather quickly. Few people search through the listings except for spammers collecting email addresses. Reciprocal Linking - This is the simple exchange of links between websites. A site agrees to place a link on one of its pages in exchange for a link from your site. It can be text or a banner/graphic.

2. Themed linking - This is sites similar in subject linking to each other. Also this can cover the internal linking of the pages in your site between each focused subject page - the use of plain html text linking between pages, is recommended. This makes it easy for the search engines to find the pages.

3. Page Rank -(PR) - This is Googles view of your site in a scale of 0-10. New domains take time to get PR and starts of at zero. The PR of a site that wants to exchange links with you needs to be considered.

4. One way linking - This is the formation of one way links (no suprize here!) using different methods that will be discussed in future articles.

5. 3 way linking - This is the formation of and understanding between 2 webmasters. Webmaster "A" -owns 2 sites (No.1 and No.2). He links to your site from No.1, and in turn asks you to link to site No. 2

6. A Link Farm - This is where your link is placed on many other sites, almost instantly. Normally a paid service, it is not in any theme and rarely results in any traffic. Effectively it is a tactic to fool Google and the other major search engines. Not recommended!

7. Anchor Text - This is the html text displayed and used in the link to your site eg: "Click Here" -Normally a blue underlined link.

8. Site wide linking - This is where a webmaster agrees to place a link to your site on every page of his site - Sometimes can be a reciprocal arrangement.

9. Deep Linking - This is the linking to internal pages of a site, normally aimed at a specific keyword and the page is normally in the same theme: eg domain.com/Extra-Large-Cat-Clothes.htm

10. Content Linking - This is using articles on specific subjects and linking from those articles to your site in the form of a resource box at the end of the article. Can be a good form of one way linking.

11. Paid Text links - This is purchasing links on other sites for the sole purpose of influencing search engine ranking. Google has come out to disapprove of this and is encouraging webmasters to report any sites doing this.

12. Link exchange directory - A directory of web sites set up that all want to exchange links

13. Social linking - This is links from the new marketing media like myspace or social bookmaking sites like digg.com.

Tools for Link Building

Page Rank Search:
Page Rank Search provides Google results alongside with PageRank scores. Bear in mind that Google link results (e.g. "link:www.practicalecommerce.com") are not comprehensive. Select the options of 100 results per page and order by PageRank.

Page Rank Lookup:
Page Rank Lookup lets you check PageRanks of multiple URLs simultaneously. The tool comes in especially handy when a home page does an immediate redirect and you can't get a PageRank reading for the "true" home page (i.e. the URL with nothing after the first slash). (www.seochat.com/seo-tools/pagerank-lookup/)

Neat-o:
Neat-o lets you review whether the keywords you are targeting are present within the anchor text of your inbound links. Contact high PageRank endowed linking sites with whom you have a relationship or influence and ask them to revise their anchor text. As you may recall from my previous articles, anchor text is critical for SEO because all the major engines take the anchor text that you have used and associate the words in the anchor text with the page that you are linking to. (www.webuildpages.com/neat-o/)

SEO-Links Firefox extension:
SEO-Links Firefox extension provides link counts and rankings for the anchor text by simply hovering your cursor over a link. It’s great for evaluating how successful a text link advertiser is. (webmasterbrain.com/seo-tools/firefox-extensions/seo-links/)

Thumbshots Ranking:
Thumbshots Ranking presents visually the common results between two sets of search results. Use the tool to find commonalities in inbound links between you and your competitor

(e.g. “link:http://www.yourcompany.com -site:yourcompany.com” and “link:http://www.yourcompetitor.com -site:yourcompetitor.com”)
on Yahoo!, MSN Search or Google. Link building consists of getting other sites to place your link on their website in exchange for you placing their link on yours. What makes link building difficult is finding quality websites to exchange links with you, because poor websites have no benefits to trading links with. Here are some methods you can use to help build links.

• Submitting to Free Directories
There are hundreds of free directories. Submitting your site to them will help you marginally in improving your rankings because they are usually too general, although they will help get your site indexed. When submitting to free directories, try to include keyphrases in the title of your link, and vary the description text in different submissions. To find free directories, search for “list of free directories” in Google.

• Submitting to Pay Directories
Major pay directories such as Yahoo! and Business.com, are sometimes worth submitting to just for the traffic they bring directly, regardless of the improvement they may bring to your rankings. There is evidence that search engines give reputable directories special consideration (Google’s patent sometimes mentions Yahoo’s directory).
Try to choose industry-related sites when paying for a link. Look at the specific page your site would be listed on, and see if it has a high Page Rank.

• Search for Related Sites
There are a few methods to search for related sites. Make general queries in a search engine to bring up directories or resources that are generally related to your site’s topic, and contact the webmaster to request a link. Write a letter about what you like about their site, why you want to be listed, why they should list you, and how they might link to you. Search for terms related to your site’s industry in conjunction with terms like “add site,” “submit resource,” “add link,” etc. This will bring up sites that have link pages.

• Exchanging Links
When exchanging links, be careful who you link to; stay away from link farms and bad neighborhoods. Unfocused free-for-all sites are not good places to link to. Generally, it is not a good idea to link to sites that require a reciprocal link. Try to find sites that provide useful information. Make sure the site is relevant, and make sure your link won’t be buried. As a show of good faith always add a link to your site first, then write a request for a reciprocal link.

• Submit your site name directly to the major search engines
Once you’ve determined that your site isn't listed on a search engine, you’ll want to submit it top that engine directly .. The good news is that this part is easy; all you have to do is go to their submission pages and follow the instructions.
Here are the direct links:
MSN Search
Yahoo! Search (log in is required, but it's free)
Google Search

• Posting in Forums
Some forums will allow a “signature” to be listed in each one of your posts. A signature is a link to your site. Some forums require a certain number of posts before a signature will be listed. Some forums will allow a signature, but it is made invisible to search engines. Find related forums, create a user in forums that appear to allow signatures, and make posts.

• The Best Way
If your site truly has unique content or is considered authoritative, other sites will often link to it naturally. This is the best way to get links.

What is Social Networking

Social networking is a way, like an online community of internet users from around the world.
Social networking is a grouping of a variety of individuals from around the world into to specific groups or communities on an Internet website.
