HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY!

How was your New Year's eve? I saw a video of the fireworks in London and it was MENTAL! Did you see it? I wish I was there.

I love New Year's eve. I have the same amount of love towards NYE as I have for birthdays. MY birthday especially. Because these are the times where I think sparkly dresses are legit!

The thing with me and NYE and birthdays is that I just HAVE to know the plans in advance. I just have to. Because I have to plan what I want to wear. It's really not that big a deal right, guys? Well, IT IS! I love all that fun time before to get ready. Just let me live, you guys!

I like looking nice. I look forward standing in my walk-in with my hair in curlers, choosing which outfit to put on. One of the reasons I'm excited about going out is the time for me to get ready.

I once had this friend texted me,

"B, we're going to Nando's for dinner. Whatever you're wearing, JUST DON'T WEAR A BALLGOWN!"

Pfft... Of course I didn't wear a ballgown to Nando's. I'm not Carrie Bradshaw.

And two-weeks ago, I was at Mukha for two-seconds to pass something to Liyana. I was in a rush, so I just passed it to her and went off.

She texted me a few minutes later,

L: B, why you dress so nice? Where you going?

B: I'm going to teman Mima find stuff for her canteen.

L: Ok. Why you dress so nice to find stuff for Mima's canteen?

B: You know I like looking nice.

L: Ya. But find stuff for canteen.

B: Ya. Going KLCC and Pavilion after.

L: Okay, that makes sense.

Okay, that doesn't make sense, but my point is I JUST WANT TO WEAR SOMETHING SPARKLY ON A LEGIT HOLIDAY ONCE A YEAR! Okay, TWICE, if you count Christmas. (Birthday is another story because I believe it is your moral imperative to wear something sparkly on your birthday to celebrate YOU!)

So when someone just throw me a surprise plan at the eleventh hour on NYE, you would not believe how annoyed and irritated I feel. I could just start crying immediately! A remarkable thing about me is that the time elapses between sad thought and floods of tears is just three seconds. I would just feel so incomplete and I would just probably not enjoy the night as how I should if you could just tell me one-week in advance what the plan is! It's like you're robbing me of a fun girly thing to do before a big night out; manicure, pedicure, getting my eyebrow waxed, facial, doing my hair, standing in my walk-in and trying on cute dresses and picking out shoes. I like doing all that. So don't rob me from the pleasure of being a girl!

Even if we're just going to end up at McDonald's.

Hello. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. How's everyone's Holiday weekend? Mine was awesome and I enjoyed it very, very much.

If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that my boyfriend left me a X'mas present on my bed while I was showering the morning of X'mas eve, along with a dozen roses carefully arranged in a vase.

When I opened my present, my jaw just like, DROPPED! Like, seriously!

Really, you guys! This is like, THE holy grail of primer. I picked this up while waiting for my mom to be done with her eyebrow waxing at the Benefit counter. I was like, playing around with all the samples there and when I saw The POREfessional, I was like, "Hey, what's this?" The SA kind of like explained to me that it's a primer which minimizes pores and all. She squeezed some on my fingertip and asked me to rub it on my face and holy shit, you guys, I LOVE THIS PRIMER!

It's oil-free and it has this mattifying effect which I love! It's just really great to put on after lightly moisturising (SIMPLE Hydrating Light Moisturizer FOR THE WIN!) your face and before putting on make-up. Not only your face won't shine all day, your make-up will stay on too. PLUS, the texture is just so soft and silky-like, I swear!

I just can't live without this product! Too much?

KALAM 3

An article about KALAM 3 came out in yesterday's Utusan Malaysia.

KALAM is very sentimental to me. I've been involved in this project since the very beginning, back in 2009. That time, we had the show at Galeri Chandan where there were only 5 artists and 15 paintings involved. In 2010, we had it at KL Library where there were 5 artists and 25 paintings involved.

But this year, the number of both artists and paintings are just so overwhelming. There are 26 artists involved and a total of 80 paintings being showcased at Puncak Art Gallery right now. I couldn't have done it if it wasn't for the beliefs and support shown by all of the wonderful artists involved.

Two Fridays ago was the opening night for KALAM 3. It was a good night. I just don't know how to put it into words.

(Three days prior to the show opening, I was already hyperventilating. I was so nervous it came to a point where I occasionally went into a very deep and dark emotional spiral. And at times, I just went really quiet and spaced out. There were also times when I got super stressed-out and went on being a total jerk to Andrew. I snapped at him. A couple of times. I'm not proud of those moments.)

How many of you were at the LEFTBLOCK Junk Sale yesterday? It was pretty good, right? I love the place.

Shared my booth with my darling Kellie/ Wayhan and Rinee of Be Tempted. I managed to sell quite a lot of my old stuff for RM15 and RM10. Ok, not really, Wayhan did the selling mostly. Thanks, Kekanda!

Met the stylish Mas Angelina yesterday. I read her blog religiously and I'm so happy that I get to meet her. I bought a statement necklace and a kimono top from her. Love em!

And the best thing that happened yesterday was I GOT MY HAIR FRENCH BRAIDED! If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that I want my hair to be French braided so badly.

And thanks to Hui Ting, my wish came true. She's so good at it, she did my hair like, under 5 minutes.

I'm not exactly the type of girl who have flawless skin. Really, I have bad skin since as long as I can remember. It's dry and sometimes oily. I mean, seriously skin, bipolar much? And I'm also not the type who goes for facial like once in two weeks (I mean, really, what planet are these girls from?). I'm more of a once a year kinda gal, people, let me live!

So like, anyone who has read this far in my blog would know that I have tried a bunch of products from different brands, and I mean expensive brands because well, that's always the case isn't it? The more expensive, the better. (What a bodo!)

Earlier this year, I had like, the worst breakout ever. EVER! It came to a point where my friends teased me about it (RUDE, guys!).

"What's wrong with your face?"

And just like that, I went into this deep emotional spiral where I start to get really annoyed with my face and just decided to not care. Like, what's the point, right? What's the point? I have spent a lot of money on expensive skin care products and most of it are now, I believe, expired and in a basket under my dressing table. Seriously, I just get way too excited about buying products that won't do what it says it will.

So like, one day, on one of my trip to my neighborhood pharmacy, out of whim, I purchased the Simple Kind To Skin range; Refeshing Facial Wash Gel, Soothing Facial Toner and Hydrating Light Moisturiser.

And like, YOU GUYS! They're like the best products ever. I'm not saying that, I'm like Hollywood flawless now, but I'm just legit happy with the results, ya know? The moisturiser is like the best ever because the sucker just seeps right into your skin. And like, it does not make my skin feels sticky or like, uncomfortable and stuff. Plus, I save ton of money by not buying some fancy face lotion.

Each product cost me less than RM20 and I've been using this range for like, 7-months now.

Good for: People who went through a shameful emotional spiral caused by bad breakouts.

YOU GUYS, I'm so excited to tell all of you that there's a brand new cafe in town. It's called Mukha Cafe and it's fast becoming my new favourite hang-out spot.

They serve simple dish but legit satisfying. One of my favourite is definitely their lamb cutlets. It's soooo good, trrrrrust me! Other than that, they serve all-day breakfast; baked eggs or Big Breakfast, Kacang Fol, Pumpkin Soup, Gulf Rice, BEEF BAMIA, Steak Sandwich, Grilled Fish and Salmon Salad.

You should also definitely try their Shahi (Arab Tea) and Ghawa (Arab Coffee). If you're not the adventurous type, don't fret 'coz they serve the usual Cappuccino, Latte, Espresso, Mocha, Hot Chocolate and etc. Their choices of cold beverages are awesome too. They have HALAL Mojito, you guys!

And girls, they serve super-awesome desserts too; Pavlova, Red Velvet, Banoffee Pie, Affogato and Choc Mud Cake.

So, I strongly suggest you guys give Mukha a try. GO! Like, TODAY!
