I recently got an email from the folks over at MaxBlogPress asking me if I had used the Ninja Affiliate plugin for WordPress. The timing was actually perfect, since I have been working on different ways to optimize my traffic on a few of my affiliate sites, and although I have tried several different link cloaking tools over the years, I had yet to use the Ninja Affiliate Plugin.

If you already do, or plan to use WordPress to manage any of your affiliate sites, having the right WordPress Affiliate Plugins is one of the keys to your success! The MBP Ninja Affiliate, is one of those that makes life easy!

After thinking about it for like… less than 5 minutes… I sent Deelip a reply and he sent me a review copy of the plugin, which I promptly installed on one of my to-do-list sites, and started using.

Features of Ninja Affiliate

Ninja Affiliate does a few things VERY WELL, it helps you “Cloak your links”, and it allows you to “Replace words like this with links” (actual plugin in action) When I installed it onto my affiliate site, I was able to take the name of a popular software the site was focused on, and have Ninja Affiliate rewrite the occurrence of the product name into affiliate links a specific number of times on every page of the site. Here’s the kicker… I was able to do this on a 280 page site, the whole site, in less than 5 minutes!

MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate Features:

Easy and Flexible Link Management

Create Professional Looking and Clean Redirect Links

Group Links for Easy Management

Cloak Your Affiliate Links and Hide your Tracking ID’s

Simple and Effective WordPress Editor Integration

Easily Transform Words into Links Sitewide (My Favorite feature)

Easily Control How Many times a Word is Replaced per page.

Status Bar Control (Change the status bar text)

Control Your No-Follow and link Juice Flow!

I have gotten to the point where I have multiple WordPress sites, and keeping up on maintenance is getting challenging. I searched online for some type of WordPress multi-site maintenance program, and this was the only product I found. It looked promising. It seemed that it would do what I wanted.

Among other things, WPManager DX claims that it will update all plugins, on all sites, by updating a single site (the master site, I believe). It also lets you backup the database to all your WordPress sites from within the program, as well as install new sites instantly that have all the themes and plugins you want them to have. In essence, it is meant to be a huge timesaver for people with multiple WordPress sites.

The product requires an annual cost, which I was not thrilled with. I’d rather pay a higher price at one time, rather than pay annual renewal fees. But, since there was nothing else like this that I could find, I clicked the button to purchase it.

That was the my first problem.

You see, you can’t simply pay for this product from the product site. Nope. You have to jump through hoops. You CAN’T purchase WPManager DX from its product site. Rather, you have to visit a sister site, NicheBloggerDX.com, and purchase THAT product. Then, you will get WPManager DX as a bonus (but still have to pay the annual fee). I didn’t WANT NicheBlogger DX. I wanted WPManager DX. The whole process felt sneaky and underhanded to me, but I still went ahead with the purchase.

Which led to my next problem. It took me a few hours to actually install the product on one of my websites. Yes, I could have paid them to do this for me, but I really didn’t want to spend the extra money. At one point, I even wondered if the product’s creator purposely did something to force people to use their installation service for WPManager DX. However, in the end, I did figure things out. I no longer remember what the problem was, or how I resolved it, so please don’t ask. I do remember, though, that I ended up doing something that was not included in the instructions. I’m not sure if this means I was making a mistake, or if the instructions were poorly written.

Which led to my final problem. I couldn’t figure out how to use it. Sure, it came with documentation, but it was pretty awful, at least for how to use WPManager DX with existing sites. I couldn’t get it to work at all, no matter how many times I read the Instruction Manual.

This product is being promoted as an easy solution, not something that requires a PhD to use. Mind you, I’m pretty technically inclined, and using this was beyond my abilities.

I soooo wanted this product to work as advertised. In the end, though, I wasn’t actually able to use this product to know how well it does or doesn’t work. I will say that I know of a few people who use this product and are very happy with it. I, unfortunately, am not one of them.

On a positive note, the creator refunded my money within one hour of my credit request, so I was impressed by that.

Features

Install and manage as many WordPress sites as you want

Update multiple sites all at once (on the same host)

Install single or multiple WordPress sites

Add your own themes and plugins

Upgrade all plugins that offer the “Automatic Upgrade” function

ReviewAZON is a new wordpress plugin that lets users add Amazon products to their blog posts. Sure, you’ve seen that before. ReviewAZON takes this a step further, though, making it a great product that anyone wanting to add Amazon affiliate links to their site should use.

I found this plugin while searching for a WordPress plugin that would add Amazon customer reviews to any particular item I might want to blog about. There were a few Amazon plugins, but nothing that added reviews. Then, I found ReviewAZON, which does exactly what I want, and more.

Previously I was using phpBay Pro to add Amazon products to my sites, but I much prefer the features and ease of ReviewAZON.

Features

ReviewAZON lets users add Amazon products to their WordPress blogs in several ways. One way is to add a product and include just about any information Amazon has available for that item, including:

Customer reviews

Manufacturer

Product Description

Qualifies for free shipping (if item qualifies)

Regular price

Sale price

The above list is not exhaustive. There are up to 25 pieces of information you can include, if you like. Plus, if you have a bit of HTML knowledge, you can change the order that the information is shown and otherwise tweak the format of the Amazon product listing.

You can also add products by inserting just an image of an item (the image includes an affiliate link to Amazon for that item), or you can bulk add items so they dripfeed onto your blog over a period of time. I have not used the bulk listing feature, so I cannot comment on it. I have, however, used the image insertion of an item and it works perfectly.

I like to tweak things, and, in doing so with ReveiwAZON, there were a few issues I ran into. I headed over to the forum for this plugin and posted my questions. My posts were responded to almost immediately (tech support is found on the forum for ReviewAZON), in less than an hour of my posting by the plugin’s author. It was refreshing to have such an immediate response by the plugin’s creator, as I’ve been on many forums where the authors/creators of a program or script leave it up to forum members to resolve problems.

One really great aspect of this plugin is that it integrates perfectly with phpBay Pro and phpOStock. If you have either (or both) of these plugins, you can include results from both sources along with your Amazon item.

The plugin keeps track of what you have already added to your site. This is a fabulous feature, as it prevents users from accidently duplicating items on their sites. Additionally, if you delete a post that has an Amazon item, that item will again be available to you to add to your site.

I did run into a small problem. The review ratings are not showing on every page where an item is displayed. By this, I mean that the ratings for any given item are showing up on my site’s Home page, but when the item is clicked and you are taken to that page, the ratings count disappears (not the reveiws, as those are still there, just the stars showing the overall rating is gone). The developer of the plugin is looking into this for me and suspects it is a conflict with either my theme or plugins.

Edit update: Turns out the problem was user error (as in I did something that caused this problem). The developer very kindly worked with me until he figured out what I had done. I was very impressed with his support.

Pros and Cons of ReviewAZON

As many of you are aware, I am not only writing a weekly Review of the ShoeMoney Internet Marketing Guide, I am following along and participating on a new site of my own! Week three came to me 2 days ago, and it actually takes a bit to digest all the info this week!

I added to my main review page… but the one thing that had me stumped this week, was that we are just starting the research phase, 2 weeks AFTER it was recommended we register an LLC and get the legalities out of the way. To me, thats like putting the cart before the horse… I mean, what if we spent hundreds of dollars to make it legit, then found out this week that its not a worthy niche to pursue?

Jeremy – I recommend you pull the legal portion out of week 1, and put it into week 3 or 4, only AFTER the research that dictates its worthiness! (Not that you will read this though…)

Anyhow – Week 3 Review of ShoeMoney Internet Marketing Guide is up!

This review of the Jeremy Schoemaker (aka ShoeMoney) 12 Week ShoeMoneyX Internet Marketing Guide, is actually going to be stretched out for a bit of time! Since the Free Guide itself is 12 weeks long, I am going to edit this post weekly, examining the latest weekly installment.

Since Jeremy is considered a leader in the Internet Marketing Industry, I have pretty high expectations from his Free Guide!

What is the ShoeMoneyX Internet Marketing Guide

Have you ever wished you had one place you could go to learn how to turn an idea into a successful method of earning a living online? In Jeremy’s own words…

“Jeremy Schoemaker – ShoeMoney”
I recently decided that there is just too much great information in my book to exclude people from reading it. I have now backed out of my major book deal and turned it into a completely FREE 12 week guide to Internet marketing.

Being a regular reader at Jeremy’s site, I couldn’t resist the call to sign up and learn from a very successful force in the Internet Marketing Business. Since he is offering this free of charge, the worse case scenario… means I have to unsubscribe, or opt out of the email only guide.

Features of the ShoeMoney Guide

Once you sign up for this free Internet Marketing guide, you can expect each of the topics below to be delivered in the form of an easily downloaded and saved pdf document each week. At least week 1 was!

Week 1 – The Beginner’s Guide To Internet Marketing

Week 2 – Affiliate Marketing 101: Everything You Need To Know To Start Promoting Products

Week 3 – Market Research: How To Crush Your Competitors And Discover Hot Niches

Week 4 – Pay Per Click: How To Earn Cash With Each Click

Week 5 – Advanced Pay Per Click (Cont from Wk 4)

Week 5 – SEO: How To Rank Higher And Increase Traffic<del datetime="2009-07-02T01:02:18+00:00"></del>

Week 6 – Site Creation: How To Build A Site With Zero Programming Knowledge

Week 11 – Building Your Team: How To Network With Others And Find Long Term Partners

Week 12 – Launch Day: How To Kick Start Your Business And Manage Your Projects

Week 1 Guide Review – 05/23/09

Once you sign up for the Internet Marketing Guide, you can expect to receive an email from Jeremy, asking you to confirm your request to get email from him. Once you click the link and confirm… you should get The Beginner’s Guide To Internet Marketing, shortly thereafter.

Week 1 can be summed up in one word… “Introduction”! Personally, I’m not much on reading multi-page introductions, but the way Jeremy started from scratch and actually made it interesting to read, it was well worth the time it took to read the 11 page week 1 guide.

You will learn who Jeremy Schoemaker is, his roots, and how he turned a hobby into a multi-million dollar business! On top of learning about the person behind the guide, you will get a very clear preview of the Internet Marketing Industry so you know what to expect, and whether it’s right for you over the next 11 weeks!

Jeremy answers a series of true or false questions in a very honest and enlightening way, even for those of us who aren’t new to Internet Marketing. At the end of the guide, he provides us with a clear action plan to prepare for the next installment! I hope each week has a plan like this!

If the week 1 guide did nothing else, it left me wanting week 2 to get here quickly!

ShoeMoneyX Week 2 Guide Review – 06/01/09

Having followed along with the Week 1 guide and taking Jeremy’s action plan to heart, I was excited when week 2 popped into my inbox on May 30th! Again this week, you receive the ShoeMoneyX IM Guide in the form of a PDF, which makes it very easy to store and read at your own convenience. Week 2 of the ShoeMoneyX Guide is 18 Pages long.

Week 2 is heavy on learning all about affiliate products, websites and affiliate networks, which is good! Even if you think you know all about networks, terminology and how to work with affiliate managers, the guide takes it a step farther and breaks each word, phrase and term, into definitions and how they apply to you. If you don’t know what “Scrubbing” or “Shaving” mean in affiliate marketing, you need to sign up now!

Around page 13 of this weeks guide, you start getting into the meat and potatoes of Internet Marketing when you start to learn about 6 proven ways to promote your affiliate offers! Jeremy breaks each of the 6 methods down into brief paragraphs with the details of WHY they work so well! There is also a section that covers the reasons for cloaking affiliate links, as well as several methods you can use to do so!

One thing I really like so far, that has been in both weeks, is the “Realities” or “True – False” section, where ShoeMoney answers the hard questions in plain and simple truth.

Week 2′s Action Plan is where we really start getting down to business, and you get the sense that next week… you will start putting the methods into action and possibly making our first affiliate sale!

ShoeMoneyX Week 3 Guide Review – 06/09/09

Week three arrived like clockwork, and as Jeremy recommends in his intro email, I DID actually read it twice! Just like previous versions, it is a pdf, 17 pages long, and contains a very detailed action plan at the end of the guide!

For myself, week 3 really started getting into the meat of internet marketing! This week we start learning about finding our Niche! You start to understand things like competition and keyword research, but you also get a slim picture of what you may possibly earn on your new website! As with previous weeks, there is an abundance of real-world examples and walk throughs to get you up to speed quickly!

I was a bit confused reading this weeks segment, since Jeremy talks quite a bit about researching your niche, when in effect, he recommended in week 1 to go out and register an LLC, and setup your new venture as its own buisiness from day 1. If I had just dropped $200-$400 to have the LLC registered and in week 3, found out that it was not a worthy market to pursue… well, you understand. IMHO, the LLC and legal aspect should come AFTER you know if its worthy or not!

All aside, this weeks guide really gets you primed to make an impact in the coming weeks!

ShoeMoneyX Weeks 4 & 5 Guide Review – 07/01/09

Week 4 came around right on time, and I knew it was going to be a hard week. While I have tried my hand at, and often failed at PPC, I have truly looked forward to this week. To my surprise, week 4 turned out to be more than a single week could handle and Jeremy split it into two parts, Basic PPC Understanding and Strategies (wk 4) and then Advanced PPC Techniques (wk5). For the sake of saving space, I am going to combine the two!

If you don’t have a clue what PPC means (Pay Per Click) week 4 will get you up to speed very quickly! From understanding the various acronyms associated with paid search marketing, to the many different places where you can advertise and walkthroughs of the tools you will find at those sites, week 4 is like a bootcamp of paid Internet marketing!

Jeremy really gets down in to the basics of how to setup campaigns, track their performance and yes… he also gets into the reporting side of it a bit, sharing different examples of measuring success! By the time you are done, the action plan is there to get you even more familiar with everything, since you will be putting it to work in week 5!

Week 5 is where you begin to see it all come together! Jeremy took me through a complete understanding of the science of landing pages! I actually went out and visited a few of my own sites and started experimenting with different page layouts… While I was not driving PPC to one of the sites I made changes to, the conversion rate on an offer increased by more than 500% – just by employing one of his strategies and split testing a few layout changes! (No kidding!!)

A common thread you can expect to see from this point forward… the information Jeremy is sharing is great, but only if you actually use it! Hopefully, you are following along with the weekly action plans, and by now you have a good idea of several methods for putting your ideas into motion!
