Well, if you’re new to my blog… or at least from April’09, you might want to read this first and if you want you can then read this. That way you won’t be so lost {::SMILE}.

But no, I didn’t trash the one that was sent to me. I made a scrapbook page. I was going to send it to them in October as an anniversary gift (they got married the same day as my birthday) but there was a new job offer in September in a different city and so I waited. You’re probably thinking they’re insane for getting married on that date. Actually she didn’t know until either after the wedding or very close to leaving for it and my ex did call after he found out about the date. I told him that the date’s not copyrighted. It wasn’t easy getting that date, they got married in Greece, and so not something I wanted to fuss about.

If you think the above is bizarre… a month before we found out that we were to be stationed in England my ex got his visa permit to live and work in the UK. Before their departure, last May, he got a job in Scotland but his new job offer is in London. So here’s my question… if you were divorced or separated and have no kids together what’s the chance of you two living 1.5 hrs away in another country? So now we have plans to meet up.

Have you watched Kungfu Panda? If you have remember what the wise turtle said? There is no accident. I have no idea how we’ll end up on the same island together but that’s what it’ll be. So don’t be surprised if I share pics of all of us hanging out next summer.

Then some pics of Jovie and daddy. I’ve been sharing M’s pics a lot lately and I thought today would be a great Jovie (she’s wearing dad’s hat on the first picture) and daddy share day. She’s 5-mo-old now and eating quite well. She finally got the hang of chewing two weeks ago. We’re now in squash. I just baked and mashed up a batch earlier today. Not my thing… I’m not into squash, sweet potatoes, potatoes, pumpkins, but I’ll feed them to my kids and husband.

Isn’t that owl on the card cute? Got his from Embellish Magazine. There’s a color + owl challenge there and I just had to play. See the flowers hubby got me? Love how the sun hits it. Do you see my little owl feltie that I made a couple years ago? I’m going to be felting again here soon. Got to make some presents for this Christmas. That’s my goal at least, as always, we’ll see.

I also want to share some photos of M before school this a.m. Check out her drawing. Aren’t they great? She freehand them… they were pictures from a book. Oh, like our radio? It’s from 1958 and because it has a mono plug-in our mp3 players works on it. Awesome, huh? M’s clothes… I should have taken a whole body picture. I love her style. The hat and denim skirt came from the consignment store.

Tonight I got a chance to make a card and I combined 2sketches4you’s sketch, Laura #38, with Moxie Fab’s plum challenge. Basically you have to use purple and as some of you know I’m not a purple fan (although the ruffle shirt on Moxie’s post is cute, ha!). Actually I’ve been ok with dark purple. But light ones… eeek. Due to my dislike for light purple I made this card.

What’s new here? Normality! Jovie is finally normal again and M is a-ok. What’s up with M? Well, last Thursday she had a little melt down. It’s not Jovie related this time. It’s actually more of a lesson for us parents to think before we speak. When hubby tucked M in she asked when he’s leaving for England. Since M has no concept of time hubby said that he’ll be leaving a little bit before her birthday. M went “oh” and waited for me to tuck her in (I was putting Jovie to bed). When I came in M’s room she was under the covers and when I uncovered her she was crying and it got very loud and uncontrollable after I held her. In between sobs she said that she’s sad because daddy’s not going to be there for her birthday and that there’d be no cupcakes on her big day (remember I suck at baking). The daddy then came in and she would not let him go… still crying of course. After a lot of consoling she finally calmed down. We did agree on two birthdays. One before he leaves and one on her actual day.

You might wonder why we’re not going together. Well, after much discussion we decided that it’ll be best to have him go first, find us a place, then ship the dogs over, and then us. Easier we think with Jovie.

The stamps I  used were from the Recollections set. They’re available at Michaels. I’ve had them for months. Dunno, they looked cute but after I got them I haven’t felt monstery until now. Actually I have a lot of stamps I haven’t used or only used a sentiment or something little. Have you read/watched Confession of a Shopaholic? I can’t stand the book. I just wanted to reach in and slap her but the movie was entertaining. Anyhow, I feel like her minus the huge credit card debt. Sometimes I think the stamps are calling my name. Asking me to take them home. Do I need to go to shopaholic anonymous? Clothes and purses oh and shoes do that to me too. Right now I want a yellow purse. I saw this Dooney and Bourke one (perfect for diapers + camera + lens + camera insert + my junk) and oh, a JCrew jacket. But man, I can’t see spending that much on a jacket. But the jacket especially is begging me to take her home! Jacket + my fedora hat will look nice he he he…
