This month, Schmidt Realty Group had the pleasure of attending a Red Carpet Gala Event in the Ravines of Richford hosted by local builder, Celebration Homes.  It was an amazing evening filled with beautiful live music, fabulous food, attractive art and great company. The event gave guests an opportunity to enjoy the gallery-style ravine bungalow that is now the new showhome for Celebration Homes. This home exhibited some of the most gorgeous quality finishes, all adorned with local art on display to truly enhance the gala experience. A silent auction was held with proceeds donated towards the Alberta Association of the Visual Arts. Not to mention, they rolled out the red carpet for their guests literally over the driveway as you entered the home along with a 1929 Rio limousine transporting guests on tours to view more of Celebration Homes latest projects. The tour included a peak at their exquisite two-storey Fountain Park estate home in Callaghan with the incredible 4-car garage.  Congratulations to Celebration Homes on a first class event!  Here are some photos:

Celebrating the Life of A House

The prestigious two-storey estate home is known as Fountain Park and it is situated in one of the most vibrant communities in South Edmonton. It will offer a combination of country living and urban access while set along the lushness of Blackmud Creek ravine in Callaghan. Intelligently designed with over 3,800 square feet of living space, Fountain Park is the only 4-car garage ravine property in the neighbourhood. With stone fencing at the front of the lot and a larger than normal front setback, the home is tucked away on a 200-foot deep lot and will be secured behind a private gated driveway. 

According to Celebration Homes president Randy Ettinger, Fountain Park is modeled after a very famous home, now a museum in California that was built by architects Charles and Henry Greene in the early 1900s. The Greenes were early pioneers of the craftsman movement and their richly detailed, Asian-inspired homes are admired for their attention to detail and fine joinery. Celebration Homes is capturing some of the Greene’s brilliant design qualities with echoes of this work in the front entry and in much of the planned exterior detailing of Fountain Park.  Truly amazing and inspiring!

Fountain Park is currently at the end of the framing stage and is available for sale with a scheduled completion date of Summer 2012. Celebration Homes has given us a glimpse of a marvelous plan they have for the interior colours and finishings. However, at this phase in construction, a new owner can still make his or her own selections.

And so, at this point, we leave you with a preview of this exclusive ravine home that is a placeholder of potential and possibilities. The construction of this house is truly a canvas for crafting a home that a family dreams about. We recently held our annual Client Open House at our office! The weather was great and so were all the hugs and happy smiles   We love getting a chance to catch up with our clients and our annual open house is one of our favourite days of the year!  For the past few years, we’ve nicknamed this event PIE DAY because we gave away pumpkin and apple pies from Bee Bell Bakery to our guests!  Plus we had the amazing team from SERVUS CREDIT UNION (lead by Janice Brown of the Ellerslie Road Branch) cooking up hot dogs for everyone!  Our staff was busy keeping the popcorn popping, and the Balloon Fairy was on hand building the most incredible balloon creations – she even made a giant fire breathing dragon!  It was fun giving out some amazing door prizes and we also announced our annual team donation to Habitat for Humanity Edmonton.  This year we raised $6500 for this wonderful organization!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s local REALTOR Chris Miller of Schmidt Realty Group rapelling down the Sutton Place Hotel to raise money for Easter Seals!

Chris was one of the brave volunteers who raised a minimum of $1500 each for the privilege of rapelling down 27 stories in downtown Edmonton this past Tuesday morning.
