“Bread Shoes” were fabricated by Remigijus and Egidijus Praspaliauskas. Each pair is unique and comes in a cardboard box. Prices range from 12 to 22 Euros.

A BW mythical music video for Land of Talk’s “It’s Okay,” directed by WeWereMonkeys. Quite stunning visuals!

Notes about the project from directors:

The idea of the Antiope came from our amazing producer Marcella Moser. Together, the three of us built a story of the last Amazon Queen riding her horse to her doom. We saw her riding through abstract, lonely landscapes, and finally launching from a cliff to disintegrate into nothingness. We saw the piece in super-slow motion, with dramatic lighting and little or no colour. To us, this idea melted perfectly with the sad, slow, feeling of inevitable doom that we got from the music.

This is a 3D paper crafted self-portrait of Eric Testroete. “I made this as my costume for Halloween 2009. It was kind of inspired by big-head mode seen in videogames. I really wanted to get the faceted geosphere look with wireframe,” states Testroete.

Software used: 3ds Max 2009, Mudbox 2010, Photoshop CS3, and Pepakura.

Dick Termes uses a six point perspective system to create optical illusion paintings on large spheres called “Termespheres.” His work is influenced by artists such as M.C. Escher and Buckminster Fuller.

Notes about Termes (from bio):

Dick acknowledges strong influences by M.C. Escher and Buckminster Fuller and has received high critical acclaim from aficionados of both camps. Termespheres are part of many prestigious collections.

This completely unique, holistic way of seeing, painting, and thinking is the key to appreciate the work of Dick Termes. In the past 32 years, Dick has explored over 160 spherical surfaces.

“Termespheres” hang in space and, powered by electric motors, rotate on a central axis. In effect, they push the old medium of two dimensional painting to a new four dimensional limit. (Time and motion are the fourth dimension.)

Incredible 3D animated gifs, based from the work of  prolific Japanese photographer T. Enami.

Notes about Emani from T-Enami.org:

Finally, in 2009, with the discovery of his complete printed catalog of 19th Century Album views (and Lantern-Slides made from the same), Enami becomes one of only two Japanese photographers known to have a surviving list of their commercial 2-D images. (The other extant view list was published by Kimbei Kusakabe).

(…) While such a separate (and hoped-for) catalog of Enami’s ubiquitous 3-D work might yet come to light, the current discovery of his 2-D Album-view list will, when eventually republished, provide researchers and collectors with an accurate survey of his 1890s commercial images to be studied along with similar images made by his more illustrious “elders”.
