Over 30 players took part including Nils Mordt, Owen Farrell and Tom Jubb to test their cooking skills while at the same time raising money for charity. Aside from grilling and serving, the players also signed autographs, posed for photographs and donated some great prizes for a raffle.

Ben Hibbard, Nando’s Regional Manger said: “We had such a great turnout and everyone was in high spirits. The players really got stuck in and there was not an empty stomach in sight. Thanks to everyone who came along and made the night such a success.”

• The Motorbike Ride Out is taking place again this year on May 5^th before our final game against Exeter.
• On May 2^nd Nando’s in St. Albans are hosting an evening in aid of the Foundation with players in attendance to cook and serve their infamous PERi PERi chicken!

Both events should be great occasions, so make a note of the dates.

The 12 Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs have teamed to support Sport Relief in the Premiership Rugby / Sport Relief Team To Change Lives and there’s a simple way you can join the team and do your bit for Sport Relief too.

You can watch the top of the table clash between Saracens and Harlequins at Wembley at 3pm on Saturday, 31 March by buying a £15 Sport Relief ticket at www.saracensatwembley.com or by calling 0844 847 2482.  (£6.10 from each £15 ticket will be donated to Sport Relief and junior tickets are also available for £5 with a £2.03 donation from each ticket.)

Sarries’ Supporters – come and do your bit for Sports Relief at Highfield Park, St Albans.  Enter the mile, don your tabard, get sponsored and stagger round a mile, or if you’re brave – 3 miles, or terminally insane – 6  miles.

March 25 is the first day of British Summer Time, and there’s no Saracens game that day (away to Sale on the previous Friday), so there’s no excuse for not turning up and proving what fit, healthy and socially responsible fans we are.

Make a note of the date, and we’ll keep you updated on details as they become available for this very special, mobile gathering.

Joining the team:

The first job is to sign up for the St Albans Mile.  This will give you the option to choose your distance, and set out some sponsorship targets.  When you’ve done that, the next thing is to join the SSA One Mile Gathering team.  You have to search the list of teams to find us (or search for Lisa Gooding, our Team Captain).  When you’ve found the team, just click the button to request to join.  This will send a request to Lisa, who will be checking emails daily and who will respond as soon as possible.  That’s it!  Then all you have to do is to collect sponsorship, oh, and get fit enough to run, walk or stagger around your selected distance on March 25th.  Simple.
