There's been some confusion recently regarding Palapas in Aptos "Kids Dine Free" program. So to the clear the air, that program actually goes from October to March. BUT! You can still get a great happy hour at Palapas:

Fun! Stop by from 3-6 any day, Monday through Friday, for a great view, great atmosphere, and great food & drinks!

Also - a reminder - some of you may have the old Santa Cruz Specials bookmarked in your browsers...no bueno. I wish I could do this for ya, but you need to bookmark the new Santa Cruz Specials. (This one!) As of yesterday the old one is no longer visible, it was causing too much confusion. And those are not my intentions at all, for anyone! Read all about my disclaimers here, this is a word of mouth site so as always, I encourage you to double check with the restaurant if you're not willing to risk it. Please remember the restaurants do their best to keep me updated, but they're busy too - cookin' and servin' and all. So they are in no way responsible for any errors. Have you been to Solaire yet? It's pretty new, and is inside the freshly remodeled Hotel Paradox. I haven't been yet myself, but I can't wait. It looks awesome, very modern and clean. Can't wait to try the food! I've been told they have a great Happy Hour too:

Well, as promised - I'm back with a quick run down of some of the uses & perks of this website. Most of it's pretty self explanatory, but if you're unclear about anything, read on & we'll have you browsing this place in no time.

The new Santa Cruz Specials is much easier to get around, and a lot less wordy. Click a day tab above, then scroll down to see what's happening in your area. The areas are broken up a little something like this:

Downtown Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz - (outside of downtown, think Ocean St., etc.)
Seabright & The Harbor
Live Oak & Pleasure Point
The West Side
Capitola
Scotts Valley & Felton
The Wharf

You'll notice there aren't as many options for sorting the information this way and that. After careful consideration, I figured that was all just clutter. And when you're hungry? We need this to be cut & dry, to the point, spic & span - right? So I pulled 'em. Now, everything is arranged by day, in a simple list, in each area. Done & done.

To stay up-to-date on new specials & announcements, "like" Santa Cruz Specials on facebook and subscribe to updates via feedburner. Subscribing is easy, you can enter your email in the box on the upper left of this page.

Mobility -Yes! Finally, we have a mobile version of the site that will make finding deals on the go easy. The address is the same, and the site will automatically detect when you're on a mobile device, and direct you to a simpler form of Santa Cruz Specials. Instead of day tabs, it's a pull down menu. Couldn't ask for it to be any easier!

No deals are guaranteed, and do not represent the restaurants themselves. Deals listed are commonly not submitted to Santa Cruz Specials by the restaurants themselves, but from members of the community. Hello & Welcome to Santa Cruz Specials! If this is your first time here, we're glad to have you, if you're a regular - it's great to see you! This is a new & improved site from our old one, and hopefully it makes it easier for you to get yourself out there & into a restaurant, with an awesome deal. Less clutter, more to the point.

I finished up the listings recently, and wanted to get the site available ASAP so I rushed it and made it live. Let this be a short intro, with a full post with highlights & perks of the new site to come. Until then, click a day tab, browse around, and let me know what you think. It should be a lot cleaner than the old one.
