We need to move our Internet connection from the old network to our new network.
First, it's on a holiday weekend, meaning our network traffic should be very low. Second, given that this activity affects our Internet connection, we wanted to schedule the outage during the day in case we ran into problems and needed to bring in vendor support to help. Our chances of getting help if we need it are a lot better during the day than they are during the middle of the night.
A lot harder than you might think. Especially when the entire campus depends on that one cable.
We're doing a whole bunch of other stuff as well. Our hope is that we can get the Internet connection moved over in 3-4 hours.
