Couldn't be happier!
Went back and forth between Samsung and Sony and then between this model and the 650. Chose this because of Matte finish. More than pleased with picture quality and aesthetics of the set. Easy delivery and setup, price was great (about 400 less than 2009 model). Very highly recommended.

A good purchase
I replaced a DLP set with the LN52A630. My requirements were 48" - 52", a matte screen, and 120Hz minimum, and current in HDMI spec. I have a bit of a trained eye and know how to calibrate, and I'm very particular in general. Wow, I says. Wow. This came from the factory calibrated nearly perfectly. I fine-tuned only the contrast, bright and sharpness only for my viewing distance. The blacks couldn't get much better for an LCD, and there are ample opportunities for on-screen adjustments. Menus are pretty logical. I'm really straining to find artifacts in the image, and the motion is fluid. Amazon delivered much more quickly than I anticipated and the delivery company was very courteous. Honestly I was nervous about buying something like this online, but it was a good transaction and I'd do it again! Excuse me, I have to get back to watching TV now...

Bought the Samsung LN52A630 together with Sony's BDVIS1000 system and am very happy with combination.

Originally was going to order Sony 52 XBR6 model since it had better audio specs for the built-in speakers -- instead when Sammy LN52A630 and Sony BDVIS1000 together were priced lower than Sony's 52 inch XBR6, was happy to hit the Buy Now button.

Glad I went with the A630 over the A650
I did a lot of research before I bought this TV. When I first started it was between the Sharp Aquos, Sony Bravia W-Series, and Samsung's A650. After reading many reviews and in store viewing sessions I decided that Samsung provided the best TV for the money. The only problem that I had was that I was hesitant because of the glossy screen on the A650. Fortunately I found my answer in the A630 and I never looked back.

I must say this TV has been nothing short of great. The picture is wonderful and as many others have vouched, I have not had any problems with glare. The sound leaves a little to be desired, but after picking up an Onkyo receiver and a Polk Surroundbar 50, that is no longer an issue. Also with the addition of the receiver their is definitely no concern about the amount of HDMI inputs that I have.

All in all this is a great TV and would give nothing but the highest marks for it.

Worth every penny
After months of trying to decide between the Panasonic plasma sets and the LN46A650, I decided on this set despite it being a little more expensive. After a week of watching this unit, I have no regrets. The picture is excellent especially for MLB games and TNT NBA games. I cannot wait for football season to arrive.

The set up is simple and idiot-proof. I would definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for an LCD.

Great Product
Great picture quality. I use this connected to a PC to stream video, and it works great - way better than the sharp HD I have. It adjusts resolution automatically. It also looks great in the living room - very clean cut - my wife even likes it.

I bought this TV about an year ago. Its one of the best thing I spent my money on. Everything everyone wrote on here is true. The picture quality is the best. Even turned off, the tv looks like a work of art with its red hints. Its not the kind of retro red that would embarace you with your friends over at home. Its very mild hint of red, which you wont notice unless you look for it. I love the glass frame. Makes the tv looks soo smooth. I do recall, I had to download a latest driver and update it because someone on the site had recommended.

FOr the picture quality, I think this tv has one of the best black display or something like that, and you could literally see it. I didnt know what that really meant when I read the reviews, but once I got to see the pictures myself, I got it.

I think Anything lesser to a HDTV on this tv isnt doing justice to the picture quality on this tv. so if you are tryign this tv for the first time, check out a HDTV. BluRay rocks.

I got one of those panasonic home theater sound system (thought the claim is that this tv has the best sound, I felt the sound isnt matching to the amazing picture quality, so I had to get the surround sound.). It does make a great difference.

I also added the PS3 (just for the Blu Ray and I also got a good deal on sony.com with a 100$back, with which I coudlnt go wrong!). I think now I feel like I really have a good media system. I am happy with it.

Few things I learnt while having the TV - for the surround system, use optical cable, if you care for surround system. If you are watching BluRay or your own local Cable box, get the Optical cable from these devices directly into your surround system rather than getting the optical out from tv to surround. I think the TV doesnt send out real surround system, even if u use the optical out from TV. I dont know how these things work, but that is much of what I learnt myself. THis might come in handy, if you are playing with these components.

If at all I could pick on something, it would be this. I wish the tv could take in multiple optical input, and send it out via one optical out, so I dont have to keep switching the optical cables myself every time i go from cable to bluray.

I almost forgot, the remote that comes with the Tv, lights up in the dark which is sooo cool!..

I think with all this , if you think I shouldnt give this product a 5 star, you better have a whole lot of real reasons :)

Go with this or even its big brother 52 inch, you wont regret the purchase!

Great product
I purchased the Samsung LN46B650 HDTV through Amazon on March 29, soon after it was first advertised, and after reading lots of reviews of the 2008 "A" model; and comparing the picture with the Sony Bravia with similar features at Best Buy. I have HD service from Cox and have it all hooked up to a surround sound system and a Sony blu-ray player.

After having watched it for a month, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The picture is terrific; Blu-rays look fabulous; the remote is pretty user-friendly ( I don't know why all the complaints on the LN46A model from last year, unless they've changed the remote); and the glare isn't that bad, even in a room that has lots of natural light. Without the stereo system sound, the TV speakers are decent, much better than on the 7-yr. old Hitachi I previously used. Even my wife, who is not big on TV, was astonished at the clarity of the picture. And the price I got was only about 0 more than Amazon's price on the 2008 "A" model at the time(of course, now the A model has been reduced a couple of hundred$ more) and about 0 less than the Best Buy price on the new "B" model.
The only less than satisfying part of the process was the delivery - they just took it out of the box and plugged it in to see that it worked - nothing special.
So far, it's been a great TV and I recommend it highly.

Excellent Picture Quality (Unless you need a matte screen)
**May 1, 2009 Updates at the Bottom

I just received my LN46B650 today so I may update this review in time. Feel free to comment with questions and I'll try to respond to them in later updates.

UNBOXING
The box for the LN46B650 comes is not too much larger than the TV dimensions itself. Sometimes you'll see a 32" TV come in a box that could easily fit one much larger. I wouldn't exactly call it environmentally friendly, but the box easily fit through doorways and into the elevator of my apartment building. The box is fitted with Styrofoam at the corners to keep the TV in its place and inflated plastic bags filling in all the empty space. There is the typical screen protective plastic in place and I found that the TV came in excellent condition with no noticeable shipping damage. I did not use Amazon.com's shipping company, the handling of other shippers may vary.

In the box is the stand (which comes with assembly instructions, though mine was already assembled), remote, 2 x AA batteries, a USB flash drive containing multimedia content and the TV instruction manual, a cover for the bottom of the TV in case you wish to mount it on a wall, a cleaning cover,screws for securing the stand to the TV, a power cord and a software CD for connecting the TV to a Windows Vista or XP computer via ethernet connections.

Moving the box by myself was a bit difficult as it is still quite larger, once I got it out of the box though, the TV is very light for a 23 year old male and getting it on the stand was very easy. Once on the stand it snaps in place, you can (optionally) insert screws to keep it locked into the stand.

Inserting the power cord and connecting my components to the TV was easy, but the cable management system for the TV is pretty much non existent -- cables pretty much dangle behind the TV.

DESIGN
There is a lot of debate about whether the Touch of Color Red Design is a good thing or bad thing. Also, you'll see on last year's models that some people claim it's barely noticeable while some people claim it's a major game changer. My TV sits on a black TV stand in a spot in the room that sits in the shade -- I can barely see the red color. However, I feel that if you were to shine a lot of light on it, it would quickly become very noticeable.

The bezel is not quite as thick as I thought it looked in the Amazon.com pictures (which are Samsung's official PR shots). There is a somewhat "fat" pointed chin which I don't think looks too terrible. If you look at the pictures you'll notice that the glass of the bezel extends about half an inch beyond the actual TV bezel, I kind of like it. The neck of the stand is a glass pillar and very nice looking. The stand itself is surprisingly deep compared to the TV stand, but, again, not a bad thing, it's just hard to see in the pictures.

The built in TV controls sit on the bottom right hand corner of the bezel and are impossible to see from more than a foot away. It's a good thing for watching movies, but when I told somebody how to lower the volume on the TV, they couldn't find the buttons. I should also note that the buttons are touch sensitive there's no tactile way to find them or get feedback when pressing them. To the right of the buttons is a red light that turns on when the remote is pressed or the TV controls are pressed. It is otherwise always off unless the TV is in standby.

I should point out that the TV is very glossy and during very dark scenes it is absolutely necessary to shade your windows. Even when the not in dark scenes, I found that the bezel reflects what the screen does not. When I closed my blinds, the TV looks absolutely superb. The bezel is no longer noticeable, dark scenes are fantastic.

The remote is fairly straight forward. The design is just a tiny bit red like the TV bezel, buttons are nice and large and easy to memorize. The backlight button for the remote sits in the top right corner of it and when pressed illuminates the keys fairly well.

There are a good number of connectivity options which are thoroughly explained on the Amazon.com specs or on Samsung's website.

MENUS/SETTINGS
Turning the TV sent me through a few welcome menus that I didn't particularly want. The first thing the TV did was begin scanning for channels -- but I have my cable box connected via HDMI so there was nothing to scan. Stopping the channel scan process was easy, though, and when I got out of the welcome menus and switched to the HDMI 1 source, the TV was easy to use.

The menu layout is not atypical of other HDTVs you may have had the chance to use. Pushing the menu button brings up a series of menus indicated by pictograms for picture, audio, antenna setup, general TV setup, input setup, Application (media/internet functions) and Help. One thing I don't like, is that one feature that I like to be able to adjust on the fly, automotion plus (or refresh rate), is buried in menu -> picture -> picture options -> Auto Motion Plus. It's a pain to get to if you're just trying to adjust the setting for one channel.

The menu gives you very simple descriptions for each setting that you're adjusting. Sometimes they're fairly obvious but I imagine for some people it clears up some ambiguity. For an example, when I highlight "color" the bottom of the menu reads, "Adjusts the color saturation of the picture using the bar on the screen. The closer to 100, the more saturated the color."

I connected my TV directly to my computer network via ethernet cable. I had absolutely no issue in setting this up, the TV detected my network settings without any problems.

One nice feature is that you can rename the sources on your TV to pre-designated alternates. For an example, I named HDMI1 "Cable Set Top Box" and HDMI2 "Game" and Component1 "DVD." It makes things easier for non-technical people. Picture settings are always retained based on the source, if you keep your HDMI source on "movie" mode and adjust the picture settings, every time you watch HDMI these settings will be restored.

FEATURES
I need to start out with my favorite feature on the TV: Customized Auto-Motion Plus. For those of you not familiar with the feature, it's what Samsung calls their 120hz capabilities. If you look at older LCD TV screens you might find that the picture tends to look blurry or judders in fast motion sequences. This technology, found in most middle and high-end LCD HDTVs in 2009, adds in extra frames to smooth out the motion.

On my old XBR4, I could adjust the 120hz to either off, standard or high. On the LN46B650, I can adjust the blur from 0-10 and the judder from 0-10. It's a great feature, I'm still toying around to figure out what I like most for which content.

Other unique features not in other brands is the Internet Content which includes a series of Yahoo Widgets. I must point out that these features are VERY slow regardless of your internet connection. It takes about 20-30 seconds to start them up initially after you turn your TV on and then take about 5 seconds to load from that point on. There is a significant lag when switching through the widgets content. The built in widgets include weather, news, flickr and finance. I've heard there are more widgets coming out soon -- possibly a Netflix widget? -- but as of April 30, 2009, there are none available. I'm praying that future firmware updates to the TV fix some of the slow speed. cnet.com provides a more thorough review of these features.

The TV also comes with a fair amount of material stored in its internal memory and Samsung also includes it on a flashdrive which you can tweak on your personal computer. Pushing the content button on the remote closes whatever your watching and offers you a photo gallery which has pictures of art in slide show form (accompanied by adjustable music), a few recipes (why? Do people actually want to read recipes off of their TV screen? Is somebody putting a 46 inch LCD HDTV in their kitchen? I must say, though, the pictures of the food looks good), games (haven't tried these yet, I don't know if I ever will), children (a bunch of stories that look like flash cartoons with subtitles for kids to read along with), and wellness (a bunch of nature audio tracks and a few piano pieces). There is a total of 189 MB on the TV set aside for this content, you can download more of it off the internet or load it on via USB flashdrive or hard drive. It's really nothing too exciting, I have no intention to use it. But, I will point out, that it's far easier to use and faster than the Yahoo Internet Widgets.

The TV hooks up to an external hard drive or flash drive. I connected my 4 GB flashdrive with a bunch of movies formatted for my iPod on it. The TV played them without any problems, but the stretched content did not look too good -- that's no surprise considering the iPod screen is less than 3 inches in size. Eventually I might try to move some saved HD content to my flash drive.

The Help section of the menu is fantastic for those who are not familiar with HDTV settings.

There is a "product guide" which pretty much explains how to use most of the TV's internet and content features, an explanation of how HD picture quality varies and works -- pretty much a powerpoint presentation -- and how you can use the TV's settings to get the most out of basic features and an explanation of how to save energy with TV settings.

A self-diagnosis section brings up a sample HD picture or audio track to test to see if there is a problem with your TV. I imagine if you start seeing artifacts on your TV or quality problems it might be a good way to see if it's the TV or a component you have connected to it.

This section also gives you contact info for samsung and is where you go to upgrade the TV firmware. Your TV is not usable when upgrading its firmware (or internal software). There has been a software upgrade issued since this TV reached the market. It takes less than 2 minutes to download and install over cable internet.

You'll find that there is a myriad of picture adjustments you can make. As I mentioned, the 120Hz refresh rate and dejudder modes, also called automotion, is superb. There are five color temperature presets, I like the warm2 the best with the naked eye but you can make custom adjustments to the white balance and colorspace settings. There's a film mode to use 2:3 pull-down -- including on 1080i sources -- gamma adjustment, dynamic contrast control, black tone controls and a flesh tone setting which I haven't toyed with at all. You can adjust the aspect ratio to turn overscan on and off or to stretch the picture, etc. These are typical on most mid-high end HDTVs for 2009. There is also picture-in-picture via different sources available if you use features like that.

There are also some energy saver features, which will adjust the brightness and other power consuming functions as you wish, but you'll probably see a decrease in picture quality the more these are turned on.

PERFORMANCE
I haven't had a chance to get out any calibration equipment and do anything serious to see how the TV looks at it's best. Out of the box, my first impression is that the picture quality is superb. I made some quick tweaks based on my personal preferences, but the colors seem to be very deep and accurate to my eye. Blacks are very very dark. I saw an early review of this TV that complained of clouding on the TV at the corners, I haven't seen any evidence of that no matter how dark I try to make the room. The screen appears to be very uniform from what I can tell with the naked eye. I might do some tests later, but I think some people have already done so on avsforum.com.

I can't imagine the typical viewer being disappointed with any aspect of the picture. It's probably the best HD picture I've ever seen, though I haven't seen most of the 2009 models, I'm gauging this based on 2008 models. But in sum: great contrast, accurate colors, great customizable processing, deep blacks, uniform screen.

I know there is some confusion about whether this is 10-bit or 8-bit unit, and I can't be positive (is there a good way to check?). I will say that there is no noticeable color banding at all that you might see in an 8-bit unit.

I took a look at SD content from both a DVD (via component cables with no upscaling) and cable TV. Obviously, it's no where near as good as HD content. I will say that if you want a TV at this size, regardless of what TV you get, you should shell out the bucks for HD broadcasting or at least a blu-ray player. With that said, the SD quality is pretty good. The picture still looks detailed with good noise reduction and gets rid of most of the moire issues you might encounter on other sets.

The sound quality is fine. Nothing great. The speakers of the TV fire downwards, so sometimes it sounds like that the voices of people on the TV are coming from the TV stand rather than the screen. I use my own speakers for most content and I suggest you consider doing the same if you're an audiophile. I won't go into sound quality much more than that because if you really expect a flat panel TV to have mind blowing sound, you need to reassess your expectations.

If you're a gamer, and I mean a *serious* gamer, and need a very fast response rate, then you might want to consider a different TV. Even when game mode on this TV is turned on, you won't be 100% pleased. If you're a more typical gamer or don't play games, this should NOT affect your opinion of this TV. I've played my xbox 360 and it is more than apt for the typical gamer. I can't imagine casual gamers running into issues especially since gaming where timing is crucial -- like guitar hero or rock band -- allow you to calibrate the game to compensate for any delay. I've tried playing with my xbox 360 a little bit on it and I haven't had any problems. I also should point out that I watched the Netflix live streaming HD content via xbox 360 connected over HDMI and the content looks superb.

As I mentioned before, the automotion features of this TV are superb. I love being able to adjust it to my preferences exactly. If you get this TV, you won't be disappointed with that feature.

WRAP UP...
The Picture quality of this TV is absolutely superb compared to all the 2008 LCDs I've seen and I imagine it is one of the best of the 2009 models. The features are expansive but you'll probably not end up using the internet or media content built in unless Samsung improves it. The screen is glossy so beware of bright rooms! Don't forget that -- I mentioned it early in the review. Otherwise, I can't imagine a better picture from an LCD.

--UPDATE: May 1, 2009 -- CLARIFICATION ON GAMING
So there was a question as to what the problem is for gamers. Let me be clear, the graphics quality with games is still excellent on my xbox 360. I have played with 120hz at full with the games and the processing is very good. I've also played with game mode turned on which exchanges some of the picture quality for better latency.

Before I continue, let me note, once again, that this is NOT a problem for a large majority of gamers.

So then what's the problem? When comparing this TV to a high end computer monitor there is a bit more input lag. For most people, this is completely undetectable, but it is there despite that this TV has far superior picture quality to pretty much every other LCD out there in the price range.

For those of you not familiar with input lag, what it basically means is that when you use a video game, there is a slight delay (and I'm talking nano or miliseconds) between when you press a button on the controller/mouse/keyboard and when the change is registered on the screen. There is ABSOLUTELY no TV or computer screen out there that has 0 lag and there are other factors that play in here (such as the speed of the computer or game console).

I did a few homemade tests and I estimate that the input latency is about 30-35 ms on average with game mode turned on or about 100-120 ms with game mode turned off. That score is actually pretty good compared to most LCD TV screens in this price range, but doesn't keep up with some of the high end Panasonics which are renowned for their low latency. For most people, anything less than 150-200 ms is usually perfectly fine. For others who play a lot of online games with their PC hooked up to their computers and need maximum efficiency, they might want to look at some Panasonic models.

Please be careful, the response rate on the TV is rated at 4 ms. That is true. The pixels on this TV should average a 4 ms response rate which is excellent. What I'm talking about here is the lag it takes for the TV to register a change made in a game controller, through the game console or computer and through the TV video processing. The input lag has nothing to do with picture quality -- in fact, it's likely that less input lag also means less picture quality -- or audio quality. It will not be noticeable to most gamers.

--UPDATE: May 1, 2009-- SD Picture Quality
I've had a chance to watch a lot more SD quality broadcast on SD channels and have to say that after tweaking some settings, I'm really thoroughly impressed. This is some of the best SD rendering I've seen on an HD set. Colors pop very well and the AMP cleans up a lot of the blur well when you get it to just the right settings. I spent some time last night watching baseball games switching between HD and SD feeds and found that I could get the movement of the ball and swing of the bat to look pretty good on an SD feed and when in HD, the AMP handles it very well in 1080i. 720p actually looks a bit better when following balls hit into the field, but this is to be expected with progressive rather than interlaced video (there's a long explanation I could go into for this, but, for simplicity sake: 720p/1080p will show most motion better but is especially good when the entire picture is moving -- like camera pans -- 1080i is actually pretty good when the camera is steady and there is one object moving on the screen, but terrible when the camera pans or there are a lot of objects in motion).

--UPDATE May 1, 2009 -- EARLY CALIBRATION
So I ran through a very quick calibration but did not do much to get the room lighting the way I usually have it, so I will probably fine tune these numbers later. great tv
Purchased the identical unit in January for work. This one is even nicer than the older generation(more money though). The screen is beautiful, the tv is classy looking.

Best TV I've ever purchased... speedy delivery service and best price.
The delivery of my Samsung LN40B650 was excellent (much sooner than expected), and the cost of this product was more than reasonable. Thus far, I'm very happy with my purchase. The TV has great features (e.g., 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 4ms response time, 120Hz auto-motion plus, and wireless DLNA capabilities). The design is elegant and quite appealing, but most of all, the TV's outstanding performance is what I like the most.... The picture quality is phenomenal; it's as if I am watching a live event through a wide-open window. The TV's well-arranged and consumer-friendly remote control unit allows for all the buttons on the remote to become illuminated, if needed. I highly recommend this HDTV, and am glad I bought it from Amazon.com.

120Hz A bit hard to get used to
First, this is a really great display. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I think the menus are a bit convoluted and confusing, but not the worst I've ever seen. The picture is amazing.

As for the 120Hz features of this set, my girlfriend and I both agree, that the default "standard" motion sharpening makes everything look like a pan-and-scan video. For whatever reason, we both associate this type of look with cheap, lower production value television programming. This becomes disconcerting when you watch a high-production hollywood or high-production TV series and you begin noticing that all the panning looks really, really sharp. I suppose this is counterintuitive because it should be an improvement when the camera pans and you can see everything much more sharply than in the past, however, that blur is something that we as an audience were used to, and seeing everything really sharply again reminded us of low production value programming. I tried to get used to it for about 3 weeks and finally gave up and just turned the feature off. I can see how it can be very good for action movies and video games and watching sports, but for typical television and hollywood movies, dramas, etc, I found it too distracting. Overall, since I can easily shut this feature off, it does not detract from my review, and also, I think most will see it as an improvement and not a distraction as my girlfriend and I did.

Capable of Life Like Imagery
If you've been researching diligently to find the best value/price HDTV, then this Samsung should be your leading candidate. I have it 3 days now. I haven't even tweaked the calibration as yet except to lower the backlight a couple of notches from 8 to 6. I am especially looking forward to using it's Internet capability feature so I can cut out the hassle of the video store or dealing with Netflix DVDs via the mail. Just selecting via Netflix or Amazon and streaming it right into my living room sounds like a solution I am really going to love. The picture is just magnificent. I just watched some of Lord of the Rings on Turner HDTV and it looked better then when I saw it in the theatre. The Time Warner Cable guy who rigged up my HDTV box told me they only broadcast in 1080i, which is not nearly as crisp as what 1080p is capable of, so I guess I will have to wait to find out the true potential of this fine TV, but even at 1080i the picture seems hard to beat. The images had a true 3D quality. I can't find anything to criticize with the picture's precision in terms of clarity, colors and overall definition. As for the sound quality, I'm not into surround sound, so all I can say about that is that I hear everything just fine with the sound set at about 1/3 of its capability. It was a bit over my budget but I'm glad I paid the extra money for this set. It also looks great in my living room; modern and sleek. The white glove delivery from Amazon was, in my case, flawless.

GREAT!...well so far at least
I've had this for almost a month now and so far so good. Delivery of the product was good, the TV was received a day sooner than the ETA. I will be totally satisfied after this TV last longer than 5 years.

One little bug
I got my set on March 18th. It replaced a 7 year old 52" Sony projection. Everything that I have read about this set that is positive is true. What a great value. I also have a room that faces west and with this set there is no need to close the curtains. This may change as the summer wears on but what an improvement over the Sony. The picture is fantastic in all formats. I would recommend to anyone.
One Con; The Samsung remote will not work my cable box. So I am looking for recommendations for a universal tuner.
Great buy.
P.S., Buy the HDMI cables from Amazon. No need to spend the .00 that H.H. Greg wanted.

Great TV, Great Price!
It has taken me about 2 years to choose a HDTV. I read reviews, learned about all the technical details and what they meant, and became as knowelgable as I could about the move to high definition. This is my first set and I have to say that I am beyond impressed. At first I was considering buying a plasma, specifically a pioneer from the kuro series. The price range was way above my budget. I looked at the sharp aqous, samsung series 7 and 8, and a fiew sony models. This tv stood out with its multitude of features and connections, and a big selling point for me was the matte screen. I can open my curtains in my living room during mid-day and turn my lights on and I can still barely notice a reflection. The color uniformity is decent out of the box but I suggest going to AVSF for professional settings. It makes the picture really stand out. The 120hz fast motion is a nice feature. I did notice that it causes a few artifacts and at times can be a bit choppy on the high setting. I leave that setting on low but that is just my opinion. The black level is excellent for a LCD. It does tend to crush out some of the details in really dark scenes but it doesn't really take away from the overall performance of the set.
Connectivity is amazing. I have a panasonic BD35K blu-ray player, HD cable box, xbox 360, and an Onkyo HT-S9100THX 7.1 Channel Receiver and Speaker Packageconnected to the set. There plenty of inputs for everything. I do have to mention though that all of my components are hooked up to my receiver so I am only using one of the set's HDMI inputs.
The picture adjustment options are extensive and very well laid out. The menu is easy to navigate and adjustments can be made in a matter of seconds. Each HDMI input is independent when it comes to the picture settings. If you do not have a receiver that switches components for you, you can setup each input specifically for the component you are using.
The remote control is very well laid out. The buttons are big and there is a backlight for operating the remote in the dark. I actually have a Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote and it is incredible. You can also read my review on that product shortly.
The sound quality from the set itself is not bad. There are a few sound settings that really help. I suggest hooking up to a good 7.1 surround sound system. If you are not a big audiophile then the tv speakers should not be an issue.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The delivery service was great. It took about a week for the set to get to my house and when it arrived they set it up and ensured that it was working properly. The delivery personnel also informed me to keep the packaging just in case any issues came after delivery. I have not had any issues and have since thrown the packaging away. The price was great. I saw the same set at best buy and they wanted almost 0 more than what I bought it for. I would never purchase a set from a B&M store anyways. A good online source is the best way to go. Well, that is about all I have to say. Hope this review helps and good luck finding the set for you.

If you have any concerns about purchasing this TV, let them die here! TRUST ME, I researched between this model, the A650, and the Sony Bravia. I watched all 3 in person. With much confidence I purchased the A630 and without a doubt I made the right decision! The color and picture on the Samsung are AMAZING, hands down better then the Bravia. Proof? My brother has a Bravia and after viewing mine for a day openly admitted that the Samsung is better! Want the best deal? My cable guy left here angry after he found out what I paid on Amazon vs what he paid at a local chain store! I love the 120hz refresh, high def sports are amazing to watch, especially with the color set to DYNAMIC. Regular HDTV I keep it on standard.
Touch of red? Didn't bother me in the store and can't even notice it at home.
Glare? NONE, and I have watched the NCAA Tourney all day long with 4 HUGE windows letting sunshine in the room. The picture shines right through, which is why I went with the matte finish A630 over the glossy A650. I viewed the A650 in the store and personally I could tell there was glare on the screen even under the store lights, so I didn't risk going with the high gloss in my room. Currently I am watching the World BAseball Classic at night with 3 lamps on and again, NO glare on the screen, it shines right through!I am happy with the A630.
A630 deserves all of the accolades it receives!

This is a great TV. It's the low end of the 120hz choices. I wanted a 120hz tv. The price is better then any of the chains. Plus no sales tax. TV was delivered on time. They delievery guys came in and unboxed it. Sat it on my stand and plugged it in. They took away the trash. That is all they will do and it's enough. The picture is great. Remote works well. It does take a little time for all the channels to get scanned in. After that your good to go. The matte finish works well when you have some sun in your room as I do. I have not noticed any glare. We'll see if that stays the same as the angle of the sun changes through the year. The touch of color is not noticable. The only negative thing is that you cannot see the button labels on the tv on the lower right hand corner. If the remote works, you don't need them.

Excellent LCD
I purchased the LN46A850 after a lot of research. I looked at all the major brands and narrowed my search between Sony & Samsung. I'm normally a Sony person, but this time Samsung won out with what I feel is a superior product. This television puts out a fantastic picture and everything works great. No IR problems as sometimes reported in other reviews. I think some of the folks that complain about this TV, are just being too picky. This television is everything I hoped for along with a great price and fast reliable delivery. The price I bought it for on Amazon was cheaper than anywhere else. I was also suprised at how quickly it was delivered. I am VERY satisfied with Samsung and Amazon.

I Made a GREAT Choice
I did all the online reviews and visits to the stores and finally chose the Samsung 46in 850. I was concerned about the 'glare issue' and although I have a window directly opposite from the TV it turned out to be a 'non issue' This TV has great looks, features and an even GREATER picture. Love it! Also Amazon had the best price & free shipping!

Great TV - superb picture and sound!
I purchased the LN46A850 after a lot of research. The picture and sound quality are superb for both HD and SD programs and the multiple HDMI and component inputs made it easy to hook up HD cable, DVD-R and computer and still have room to add Blu-Ray in the future. The super-thin profile looks great, although I've not yet wall mounted it. All in all, completely happy with the purchase.

850 is a Great TV!
This is an awesome TV! After an intensive 4 month search, I finally purchased the Samsung 46" 850 TV. I seriously looked at all the major brands and narrowed my search between Sony & Samsung. I must admit, I'm normally a Sony-man, but this time Samsung won out with what I feel is a superior product.
To maximize the TVs potential, I decided to buy the TV, home theater system and Blu-ray player all at once. For ease of use, I selected all the components from the same manufacturer--Samsung, now everything works with only one controller. This set is absolutely incredible when mated to the BD-P2500 Blu-ray player. Razor sharp!
I also bought the HT-X715 home theater sound system, which looks great (red touch of color) and sounds very nice... BUT BUYER BEWARE! If you go with this system, be advised that the DVD player is NOT Blu-ray! You have to buy one separately. Samsung does have a Blu-ray integrated home theater system for around B001DW6Q8E,000, but that was a lot more than I was willing to pony up.
The HT-X715 system is advertised as being "wireless" (rear speakers only), but is actually only wireless when you connect the rear speakers to the SWA-4000 wireless transmitter, which costs another 0+. Even then, the rear (surround) speakers must still be "wired" to the transmitter. So much for being wireless, eh?
As for the TV itself. I haven't experienced any problem with glare or been troubled by the red trim or high-gloss black bezel. As a matter of fact, that was one of the things we liked most about the TV. It really looks fantastic. The picture is bright and extremely sharp on all HD channels. My son has hooked up his X-Box and is amazed with the game clarity. We've also been taking advantage of the NetFlix "instant" movie download capability. Although not nearly as sharp as a Blu-ray movie, it's still very clear and a really cool feature.
Purchasing these components through Amazon (vs. Best Buy/Circuit City) saved me several hundred bucks, which I in-turn used to buy the better Blu-ray player. I was also pleased with the home delivery service for the TV. Two guys brought the TV into the house, unpacked it and made sure it worked properly before leaving. All the components arrived without a scratch and you really can't beat free shipping!
I'm very happy with all of the Samsung components and would highly recommend this TV to anyone!

Just received the unit a few hours ago. It is a work of art. The photos do not reflect quality of materials and construction. Picture blows away 1080p DLP. Wish it was 120hz, but for 60hz the 5ms response rate makes up for it. After several attempts to fix my HLT5087SAX DLP purchased from Amazon, Samsung replaced it with the LN46B550K1FXZA. I am a Samsung customer for life!

Great LCD with Hi Tech Features
This is my second Samsung TV and I am very happy with this purchase. Sure its a pricey TV but its also loaded with great features, tons of settings, and the latest LED backlight technology which provides black level that takes LCDs into Plasma territory without the power demands or heat of plasma. This new 55 inch takes less power than my old 40 inch LCD panel due to the smart backlight which turns down (or off) LEDs in dark areas of the displayed image.

Overall I think its picture quality is up there with the high end Sony (LDC) and Pineer (plasma) displays. Samsung has really made a name for themselves in the last few years with there continually improving line of LCDs. I really like how each input saves its own settings so you don't have to adjust whenever you switch inputs.

For gaming: Like other LCDs, in its default configuration there can be some trouble with some games with latency and image blur. I had one major issue with Rock Band when the animation behind the scrolling notes made the notes blur. You can use "E-Mode Game" to fix this but I found a better solution. Because you can not change the brightness/contrast or backlight with "E-Mode Game", I used HDMI2 input for the Xbox 360 and changed the label on HDMI2 to "PC". This tells the TV that you have a PC hooked up to HDMI2 and skips some of the color and image processing just like the "E-Mode Game" but you can now control brightness/contrast and backlight. This only works on HDMI2 and its briefly mentioned in the manual but it makes a much better low latency game mode than the "E-Mode Game" that Samsung provides.

For Movies: Much better than any other LCD due to the great black levels. Deep blacks and good dark detail can be seen with this TV with the right settings. With LED backlight and a Blu Ray player, blacks are actual black instead of dark gray and the black bars on widescreen movies disappear from view. And because its and LCD, bright seens have much more punch than even the best plasma displays.

For TV: If its standard definition don't expect too be impressed. I think the scaler and standard def TV feed looks good for what it is and you can use the LOW setting of dynamic contrast and auto motion plus to make it palatable. But if you have HD TV it should look great on this TV.

Negatives: There is only one real negative to this TV but for me its a very, very minor one. When viewed from an angle, you will loose the inky blacks even from just 30 degrees off axis. Its not a big deal for me for two reasons. The couch is directly on-axis and it looks great from any seat on the couch. From the side chair (about 40 deg) it still looks great and you would probably not even notice you were losing some black level until you move to the couch. Off axis, this TV still looks as good as any high end LCD I have seen. So if you will often need to watch off axis, you do lose some of the benefits of the LED backlight and maybe you should go for a plasma because all LCDs have this issue and most have it much worse than this TV. I just think its noticed more because the on axis blacks are so good. That is why it is often mentioned in reviews. Then only other minor issue is that the stand does not swivel. That would have been a nice touch but with a TV of this size, I probably would not move it much.

For Geeks: This TV is great. The number of different settings you have to play with are unbelievable. You can even do both color balance and grayscale calibration with this TV without needed to go into the services menu. You are provided with full grayscale setting (RGB Gain and Cut) and Color (RGB and YCM) from the standard settings. I really like this because I can try to calibrate it myself without the worry of messing up the service menu settings.

So, you pay a lot for this TV but I think its worth it for the picture quality and a chance to check out LED backlight technology before all the other LCDs get it, and they will! I think LED backlighting is a breakthrough for flat panels and will continue to improve over the next few years and become standard for LCD. So, I just paid a premium to see it now.

A week with the LN55A950
I did recently purchase the Samsung LN55A950 and must say it has been a remarkable TV.

I rarely write reviews on anything. I don't love LCD or hate plasma. I have no desire to persuade anyone to buy this TV. I am just a guy who ditched a 20-year-old Trinitron because it was, well, time. When it comes to new purchases on anything I wait... wait...wait... and then buy the best I can afford.

I went with LCD over plasma because even though plasma image retention and burn-in issues are declared to "resolved", I frankly was not interested in pampering, break-in or TLC of any kind for a television. I watch - and will continue to watch - a lot of non-16x9 content with black bars at the sides or top/bottom. Also my room is quite bright with a lot of windows and I wanted to be able to crank this puppy up whenever I needed to. I was a bit concerned about potential glare issues on this set but I have had absolutely no problem.

To me, this set has the contrast of a plasma and the "pop" of an LCD. I had a chance to see this set in a store environment prior to purchase (it was set in "dynamic" torch mode, of course). Still, I was immediately struck by the inky blacks of the LN55A950 as compared to any of the other LCDs. This is due largely to the LED backlighting instead of the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) used in most large LCD displays. Actually, most LCDs have nice black levels to my non-videophile eye but the LN55A950 was in a category of its own and rivaled any plasma I saw in terms of inky blacks.

At home, I haven't done any calibration yet but out of the box it looks just great. Blu-ray content is spectacular. I also have been quite pleased with the up-scaled quality of standard broadcast and typical DVD content.

Question on Settings for best viewing
Hi,
Got my Samsung a950 recently, and its an exceptional TV. Fantastic picture and sound.

Had a question on the settings...the Movie mode is the worst. Too dark. The Dynamic is too bright and colors too saturated. I tried to lower the backlight and contrast for Dynamic, but still didn't feel right.

The Standard seems to be the best. Can someone let me know what ideal settings they use for Standard settings (backlight, contrast, brightness etc.), and also the settings they use for Detail settings and Picture settings ?

Final Update:03/17/09
I have had the second TV for almost two months now. I do believe that later firmware update improved the TVs viewing, at least from my view point. The first TV the back lighting was not optimized and I found that all of the darker sences from Dark Knight sort of blended together. That is not the case with this example.

One thing I have noticed now that as I have gone from the reviewing phase of the TV to the watching phase, I find myself liking this TV more and more each day. I was really intent on going to see Watchmen in the theater but when I keep seeing the previews in HD on my TV I decided I will wait for it to come out on blu ray because the previews looked simply awesome on this TV. I can't think of a better endorsement than that.

Vizio has come out with their version of a 55" LCD TV the 55" vf550xvtia. I brought this one into the home to compare against the Samsung, here are my observations:

The color was surprisingly good. It started out a little over driven but Vizio provides enough ability to manipulate the screen that in no time I was able to get a fine viewing picture. Honestly, I would have to say that it compared very favorable to the Sony. However, the samsung, just has a more pleasing viewing image.

Dejudder: The vizio weakness came in the dejudder. It didn't do a good job handling any fast scenes. The Ironman Blu-rayer disc is the one I used to test all the TVs. During Ironman's confrontation with the air force jets the structure of the aircraft are never symmetrical unlike the samsung which renders a perfect picture and the scene plays flawlessly. Maybe the Back lit LED 240hz version of this TV will correct this issue, but with this current offering, the samsung 950 is easily the winner.

Update: 01/21/09
My first LN55A950 at the end of the 30 day return period started having issues with the LED lighting. It came in the form of 4" by 8" rectangular shapes on the screen with varying shades of color ranging from dark black to bright yellow. Each rectangle was showing independent color than the adjacent rectangle. It appears the back light is set up in quadrants of 64 throughout the 55" display. Needless to say, I took it back and got a replacement. For the moment, it appears to be functioning correctly. I will update as necessary. I am starting to get a little concerned about the QAing of the samsungs. The new TV has the later software revision loaded. 1003.0 version

Reviewed: 01/14/09 I have compared this TV side by side in my viewing environment with the following products:

Sony 52" W4100 (2 different sets)
Song 52" XBR6
Samsung 52" 750 (2 different sets)
Samsung 52" 850
Samsung 58 550 plasma

My findings were these:

Clouding: I was unable to find a TV that didn't suffer from some degree of "Mura" or clouding. All sets had it expect for the 950 and the plasma. I found during the testing that the sole samsung 850 tested the worst of the lot ( clouding evident in both back panels, even showing some of the worst areas during well lit content) and the second Sony W4100 to have the least clouding (had I not had the 950 I would have kept this example because while clouding was present, I could have lived with it) but it was evident in ALL TVs save the plasma and 950.

Color: I would say the Sony probable rendered the truest picture color but found that the samsungs vivid color presentation was the most pleasing to my eye. Side by side the 750 and 850 compared favorable to the 950. It's hard to forget that you can own at least two of the lower series of samsungs for the price of the 950.

Blooming: It is present but my "skills" at calibration allowed me to mitigate the worst effects of it. This is not a deal breaker.

Black: While light pumping can be seen at times, if you let go and watch the movie it is barely noticeable. I would like to point out that when you see black, it is black. LED back lighting is the way. Compared to the plasma (albeit a low end PN58A550 plasma)It rendered better blacks than THIS plasma.

I was able to pick this TV up for 00 and really didn't want to suffer the "buyers remorse." So after much comparing of various makes and models I can say clearly that if the money doesn't bother you...then this TV is most certainly a keeper and will stay contemporary for many years to come.

Plasma's days are numbered and this TV is the messenger.

Visibly better than Samsung LN46A650
We bought the Samsung LN55A950 and the LN46A650 at the same time - one for the family room and the other for the bedroom. Side-by-side, the difference is very noticeable. Even though I set the image parameters the same on both sets, the colors on the 950 are definitely more vivid. You need not be a videophile to see the difference. Even when I view the 650 by itself in our bedroom, I can tell the subtle difference. It's still a great picture, but it just lacks the "pop" of the 950. Also, when viewing the two sets in total darkness but still powered-up and in the absence of any video signal, the 650 screen is a dark navy or gray, while the 950 is nearly (but not entirely) invisible. Granted, no one ever watches a blank screen in the dark - but there really is a difference in the black levels between these sets.

Both sets have the "glossy" screen, but to my delight and great relief, they pose absolutely no problem whatsoever. Both our sets are located in rooms with windows and overhead lighting. Can I see any reflections? Sure, if you look hard, you can see them - as I could on my old CRT TV. Before I turned-on the sets, my wife commented on the reflections, but no one has ever commented about reflections when the set is on.

As other reviewers have noted for the 650, the 950 also takes 3-4 seconds to pick-up the video signal on start-up. Images do not instantaneously appear as soon as you turn-on the set. This is a very minor issue.

I looked over the games, recipes, and other content that you can access with the 950. I actually found a good recipe for beef kabobs, but the material is mostly forgettable and this content would not be a deciding factor in my purchase.

I paid 00 for the 55" 950 and 00 for the 46" 650. Is it worth the difference? Of course, the screen sizes are quite different, but if I were to do it again, adjusting for the different sizes, would I pay 00 - 00 more for the better picture? Hmmm, that's a tough one. If you can afford it, I would go for the 950. The 950 made our holiday houseguests all wonder what was so different between our HDTV setup and theirs. That satisfaction is certainly worth something. However, I would definitely be very happy with the 650 and if I had not seen the 950 first, I would not be dissatisfied or wanting in the least.

Breath taking...felt like I was spying during dialouge portions of movies on STANDARD DVD's. As a result I refuse to watch scary blu-ray movies because of the realism. SpiderWick chronicles on Blu-ray had me covering my eyes. Got at a steal, the price is the same age when one is officially is considered a teenage plus two zeros. This is a discontinued model but if you can get at a bargin you will NOT regret.

The picture is phenomenal and sound has come a long way from earlier LCDs. I was going to buy a wall mount for the swivel feature, but was pleasant;y surprised to learn the stand has it's own swivel feature already included. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Having a blast with the new TV
I had this TV for about a month now and do not have any regrets about buying it used. I was looking for a TV a little under 2000 and found this one for 1900 with a open box discount. First of all blu-ray is the way to go with this TV, b/c of the clarity of all aspects. Bought this TV with a blu-ray capable samsung surround sound home theater system and a 40G PS3 with a free movie (troy). Set up was very very easy and went with HDMI cable and fiber optic cables for excellent audio. Popped in the blu-ray dvd and was astonished on how clear everything was. If you are looking for a TV and feel like going all out, this is the one to get. The reason I got this tv was for the 120 HZ

simply awesome!! the 120hz on high is a little funky, but I think technology for transmitting will help that.

I was very pleased with this purchase and haven't had any problems with the unit (I've owned mine for 9 months as of this writing). It seems very intuitive and easy to use.

When I was researching my purchase, I was concerned about the glossy finish causing glare or being easily damaged (I have two small children) but I selected this unit based on the specs and aesthetic look. I definitely recommend looking at actual units in stores (I used Circuit City and Best Buy for my comparison shopping). Anyway, the glossy screen hasn't been a problem for my home / use after all.

I had also planned to mount this TV on the wall (to keep it safe from the little crazy people who live with us). After setting it on our console I was surprised at how stable it was and decided that the wall mount was unnecessary. I may still decide to mount it someday but since we already have a console that we use to store our A/V components in I don't see a need to.

LOVE this thing
This has to be the best piece of electronics that I have ever bought. I have had it for almost a year and I still love to look at it. It has a really smooth design and is just simply attractive. I love being able to just walk by and touch the power bar and have it turn on. There is no need to search for some small power button like most TVs.

When I originally purchased it I had satellite with HD and I thought the video was awesome then. I just upgraded to a PlayStation 3 and watched Blu-Ray movies. What can I say I fell in love again. The colors are just so crisp and clear. I can hardly stand watching SD TV.

I would not trade it for anything. Well, maybe the 46 or 60 incher.

If your product is shipped using CEVA then make sure you call them to check on your tv. They are really nice guys and I found a depot near my home and went and picked the tv up 5 days early. They even let me pull my car in the warehouse and helped me load it up. Their service is highly recommendable.

I bought this unit just before Christmas. I have yet to purchase a blueray player and am watching DVD through my OPPO 980H DVD player. The picture on this TV is incredible. The colors are bright and vivid without over saturation. Black is as black as the color can possibly get. I wish the price jump between the 46 inch to the 52 inch wasn't so big, otherwise I would have bought the larger unit. Overall, I am more than pleased and would buy this TV again.

Amazing Picture
This TV is the best on the market today, the 55 inch Model holds the same quality but is a lot more money. I got this TV around Dec 25th with a Wall Mount from Amazon, the mount was very easy to install and i had the TV up in a matter of an hour or so. The biggest issue was removing the base Glass Stand which is held in place by 4 Screws. I recommend 2 people for ease of mounting this TV.

The Picture is amazing, Blurays Seem like the people are real and not just a projection or dim image, the colors are bright and vivid. I researched this TV for about 6 months before buying it. No other maker at this time can make a TV that Matches the 9 series, do not listen to anyone in a retail store like bestbuy or others because they will try to sell you on the idea of plasma and honestly you will not notice a difference. Do not believe that just because someone says plasma is better that it is, look for yourself and compare. The Backlite LED technology has closed the gap between Plasma and LCD tvs and they are very equal to one another.

I hightly recommend this TV or the 55 inch Model LN55A950.

Gave back Sony XBR6 to get the Samsung ln46a950
Got the 46" XBR6 last month...thats a good LCD TV...don't get me wrong. The price especially on XBR6 has been falling, and is available for under k at Amazon. But the problem I fould with the Sony is that the colours seemed to be oversaturated. Faces always seems to red. Had to adjust the colours, but still didn't seem right.
Also, the XBR6 seems to keep dimming on its own every so often. I think others have also reported this. One this I did like about the Sony is the matted screen...much less reflection.

Decided to return that and spend the extra money to get the top rated LCD available today - Samsung 950. This TV is the absolute BEST. I'm not sure how they can make a better TV...Just watching normal HD programming is absolutely amazing. Blacks can be adjusted, and pictures are so damn clear, and the blacks make the picture pop out. I set it to Standard mode...seemed to be better than the Movie mode.

Speakers is downward facing, but even with the TV on a stand I find on issues with the speakers. The sound just great to me.
Only one small complain I have is the reflective screen...more reflection than the Sony, especially when the TV is off. With the TV on, its not too bad...was not that noticable. I think Samsung is providing a better anti-reflective screen in their next 6000,7000,8000 series unveiled in CES 2009. But can't wait for that...that would be 6 months out and priced too high.

Glad I switched from XBR6 to A950...definitely worth the extra couple of hundred.

LEMON! Picture problems, unreliable, been repaired twice but still not fixed
After owning this set for 3 months, I experienced color smearing and halo effects on all inputs. This was initially visible against the white ice surface while watching a hockey game, but it also appears on other colored backgrounds as well. The Samsung warranty initially appears to be very good, because they actually send out an authorized repair tech to make a house call. However, the repair guys replaced two boards in the set, and it only made the picture worse.

They then took the TV back to their shop, in order to replace the entire display screen. Perhaps they lied about doing that, but regardless - they definitely did not test the set before returning it. After 10 minutes of watching the "repaired" set, the same color smearing problems have re-appeared. We are now waiting for (yet another) response from Samsung and/or the repair shop.

Even better than expected and at a great price!
I did considerable research on TVs when we were planning to give our folks one for their 60th wedding anniversary. This one kept coming up at the top so I got one for myself. This year's models have higher contrast ratios and faster response times but my eye can not distinguish the difference. The picture is great and that is without having yet subscribed to my cable providers' HD package and with most of the programs being transmitted in only 480 or 720, not 1080. It is in a room with a large bay window that can create considerable glare but that has not been an issue. The white glove delivery was faster than expected. It was set-up when I got home and they even moved the old TV to another room for us.

Exceptionally happy
Trying to decide which flat screen TV to purchace (my first) was confusing and complicated. Seemed that there was no concensus from the reviews that I read. Finally one particularly positive review, and a strong impulse to buy, led me to the purchace of the Samsung LN4069FX-40".
I ordered it on a Sunday, it showed up that Wednesday (some of the inner styrofoam packaging was damaged, giving me a bit of a scare, but it turned out okay). Set up was easy and straightforward, even for this non-geek, my non-HD satellite signal provided a nice picture, DVDs were beautiful. I've since upgraded to Dish Network HD, and it's hard to watch anything that's non-HD. The picture is absolutely gorgeous. I'm running HDMI from the receiver to the TV (a geek friend's recommendation), and I plan on putting up a TV antenna to pick up local HD stations (Dish Network doesn't offer them yet in my market). Overall, a very positive buying experience.

nice TV
great picture with HD on some channels like ESPN; not as great with refgular broadcasts. Occasional "hiccups" in the software - have had to reset a little here and there. Good viewing angles for an LCD.

Great...but 7 months later a big problem
I ordered the Samsung LNT 4069 in March 2008, after doing
a lot of research (much of which was thanks to comments
from people like you).

Everything was fine..until yesterday.

I turned on the tv, and the picture essentially goes "in and out"
(ie on and off) with the "off" either being blank (ie black screen)
or a screen entirely comprised of 'snow'.

Samsung is closed, so I'll have to call them tomorrow.
However, I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem,
and I was wondering what the solution was?

I'm very surprised, since I know the quality of Samsung and
everyone gave it great reviews!

TV Went Belly Up
I enjoyed this set while it lasted. Picture was amazing. It failed one month after the warranty expired. The tech says it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Bummer!! I paid 00 for it.

LOVE MY "TUBE"
I like watching thisw TV. I have DirecTV with HD DVR and a HD DVD player. The picture is amazing clear. I have the option to either listen through the amp in surround or through the TV speakers. Either works for me, you should use a sound sytem capable of switching and upgrading to HDMI 1.3.

SOmne of the features, such as automatic color adjkustment and such, are nice to have, but I think it works great without any of them turned. There are three "memory" settings for video. I set them up for the changes in room lighting and it's very simple to switch.

Awesome TV!
This is by far the coolest, best purchase I have made in years. I got this TV at a great price, and it was more than I could have imagined. Great picture, sleek looking TV. It arrived fairly quickly and in perfect shape. Samsung knows how to make TV's! great tv, great price
I originally was looking at the LN46A550, but ultimately went with the A630 model to get the 120HZ feature. I'm glad I did; the picture is wonderful. Why not get the 120HZ upgrade when the increased price is so negligible? I originally hooked up the TV to my theater system receiver using an S video cable (because that is what I already had on the old TV). I later bought an HDMI cable, and was absolutely amazed how much better the picture is with HDMI--don't even consider hooking up any of your components without HDMI cables--and don't bother to spend -0+ on fancy cables when you can buy HDMI cables for less than that work great.

Great TV
So far so good. The picture is amazing. The remote is a little hokey. The delivery service was definitely white-glove. I'd do it again.

Even Better Then Expected - and I expected a lot!
I did a lot of research on the type of LCD I wanted to buy. I knew 46" was the size and I had heard rumor that 120Hz was the way to go. I read all the reviews and balanced them against the price. The LN46A530 is the perfect fit. The picture is incredible.
The sound is spectacular. For those who speak to sound issues...my guess is that they are using componant video for picture and regular left/right audio for sound. I however use the HDMI cable...and well, all I can say is sound and picture are wonderful.
Some have spoken to the fact that the 120Hz makes every show/ad/video look as if you're watching a soap opera where you feel like you're in the room. Yes, this is true. The picture is so sharp that it almost has a 3D affect. However, this TV gives you the flexibility to slow down the affect and this is useful.
The touch of red around the sides is just that. Just a touch. I can barely notice it. So if you're thinking not buying this TV because of the color...don't let that detur you. It should have no bearing.
If you're wavering, make the purchase. You won't regret it.
I love it and show it off all the time.

Ordered on 1/17/09 and got a good price after researching for a month. Delivery was a week later and the experience was great. They arrived within the window of time specified. They unboxed the TV and put it on my stand. Also waited till I turned it on and saw a picture. Hookup was easy, the picture in HD is amazing! I'm very happy with the purchase.

Okay, everything I have read from here to CNET has this t.v. listed as one of the best LCD's of 2008 (actually the 650, but the difference really is the matte screen). I got this t.v. after I had my LN40A550 stolen from my home. Thankfully insurance covered the cost, so I shelled out a few hundred more for this set, and I AM SO GLAD I DID! Being a guy I subscribe to the whole 'size doesn't matter', but the jump from 40" to 46" is amazing. Just that alone makes the t.v. a plus, but when you add in the 40,000:1 v. 20,000:1, and the AMP feature, this t.v. blows the 550 out of the water!
I don't review stuff, I don't recommend stuff, but I've been so blown away with this set I had to at least throw in my 2 cents. I've never had a problem with Amazon, and their delivery, and once again I wasn't disappointed. They gave me a 12 day estimate for delivery, but it arrived cross country only 3 days later! The delivery guy brought the set in, set it up, inspected it, and was nothing but professional. Again, this is why I'm writing this...it's so easy to post a complaint, but far too many people fail to write about the positives.
Back to the set...one thing I have no clue about is the 'touch of color' that they are talking about. My place is full of windows, thus the matte screen, and I can't see any red. In fact, the only way that I saw any red on the set was when I busted out the flashlight and ran the beam around the edges. Then I could see it, but if you are expecting anything 'noticeable' then you will be disappointed...If you care less about the 'touch of red', like me, you will be glad to see that it's not even noticeable!
All in all, this t.v. is ridiculous! Watching it right now, and still blown away. You can wait for the price to drop even further, but I don't know how far it can drop. The price fluctuates on Amazon through out the day from 00's to mid-00's (from Amazon, not other dealers). Still 0-0 less then Best Buy...If you want a great t.v. at a great price...pull the trigger!

Samsung 40 inch LCD
I purchased this TV on Amazon's site via ButterflyPhoto. A cosmetic defect caused a return and the most discouraging experience ensued ending up with Amazon coming to the rescue in getting my money back. The Amazon Customer Service representatives handled this matter with real concern for the customer. I did not have much viewing time with this TV. However, while I had it the picture was great with Blu Ray and HD DVD. The cable experience was not much more than average, but this TV has many adjustments that could improve that situation. Overall it's a great TV.

Great TV
I purchased this based on its great reviews and these are justified. The picture quality on high definition sources is fantastic. I also purchased it because it has a relatively narrow bevel - so it gave me a 40" picture in my limited space. This set fits in my home entertainment center perfectly. The touch of red is very subtle on this TV. The sound quality is quite good for regular TV. I use my receiver and external speakers for movies. I highly recommend the TV

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. Right size Right picture Right Set Up
Very suitable in a small room. I did extensive research and went for a step above the rest. It has the best specs of any 32", and it looks like a big TV in my 10x12 TV room. The red highlights dress the room 'classy'. Wall mounted it with a full motion well made mountSanus Systems MF215-B1 15-Inch to 37-Inch LCD TV 15-Inch Extending Full Motion Wall Mount (Black) 36" from floor to bottom of TV. Connected my DVD with component cables and movies look fast and fantastic. The TV sound is very decent plus used the audio out connections to play through my new compact ilive combo cd-ipod-radio iLive iH328B Dual-CD Home Music System with iPod Dock (Black) speakers. Yes, the ilive provides the tuner and the compact little stereo looks sharp beneath the TV. Because the room is small, I did not want furniture to overpower the TV or the room. I found a Saunder nightstand 18dx23wx23h which sits pretty beneath the TV. It looks like a mini entertainment stand and when I can find one, I'll get a small media tower to go beside it. Installed a new OTA antenna in my attic Antennas Direct 43XG and wish I had bought the 91XG which has slightly higher gain which would help a lot for channel 16 on the low end of the 'dial'. Used 52' of RG6. Stations are all uhf and within 15 compass degrees of each other 13 to 40 miles away. The picture is really really nice on this TV.

Very Pleased With Product and Shipping
Ordered the product 24 Jan 09 received it 28 Jan - ahead of schedule - using the free shipping. While I had a little difficulty making the link with my DVR it was as much my fault as it was the documentation. I wish the documentation would have included the remote codes so I could have programmed the cable remote more easily.
The picture is very good. Easy to set up on the stand.
On setting up the cable, I needed to press the SOURCE button on the remote, select the connection to the cable box, press the enter button, and then use the cable remote to watch TV channels. Using the TV remote would reset the source to the TV. Possibly a learning curve for me. Overall, I am very very pleased.

Great TV and Delivery
Bought 4 TV's this year for Xmas, this one was for myself. Needed a smaller TV and this one worked perfectly. Picture is excellent with Verizon FIOS and HD. Sound isn't the best but not bad. Better than the LN52A550. The touch of red is very suttle and when I ordered was a bit worried about it but is nice and can barely tell it is there unless you look with just the right lighting. Now I would prefer the touch of red if given the choice. Delivery took about a week with CEVA and had no issues. I set the TV up but they helped inspect it and will carry it wherever you want it. Setup is simple as well, just connect and auto scan. I also payed a bit more and ordered from Amazon versus the others since Amazon will let you return it if problems (30 days) and the others typically will not. Have had it for 1 1/2 months and is main TV in kids play room, watched daily. Great TV.

to the person who is having trouble with OneCAll for the samsung tV. I think samsung's website has the firmware update you can download or they will send it to you. I hope you can get the bug-fix without having to send you tv anywhere. Then it should work perfectly from what i understand. Sorry i couldnt figure out how to reply to a post

Within 3 days it began to automatically shut itself off. This increased with frequency each time we turned it on. By Thanksgiving day it had shut itself off so much we stopped using it. The following day we tried again. It shut itself off 8 times in a few hours. I called One Call and could not get through. Left a message but no one has called back,yet. Sent an Email and received a reply that I had to call Samsung. Apparently One Call does not have anything to do with product malfunction/repair/replacement. Their policy seems to be that a buyer can send the new product with problems back but must pay shipping to do so. The number for Samsung provided by One Call was wrong. I called the number on the Samsung booklet, was told that they have to send out a repairman and that someone would call us in 2-3 business days. We are still waiting--have another day to wait. I asked the Samsung representative why they don't just replace the TV since it is not usable and has a major problem out of the box. I was told that they do not replace new products with problems until they have tried repair, first. This is very frustrating. If I wanted a refurb, I could have bought one and saved a lot of money. Nearly two weeks with an expensive new TV we cannot use. It was our first effort to order a major purchase from the Internet from an unknown provider that was highly rated by Amazon users. Our plan, if this went well, was to purchase a larger TV for our family room and possibly a smaller one for a bedroom with electronics and an updated computer to go with them. This inconvenience, (not to mention cost, if we have to pay to ship the Samsung TV back), totally negates any cost savings or convenience of ordering online. We are additionally disappointed because we researched TV's carefully and the Samsung was generally the most highly rated, even by the consumer testing organization. Needless to say, we will be extremely cautious before we make another large on-line purchase from other than a traditional company with which we are familiar.

You Won't Be Disappointed!
We received this television a couple of weeks ago. We already had satellite service but, as soon as our satellite was hooked-up to this tv, we were astounded by the picture-quality. I liken it to having cataracts your whole life, then suddently having them removed...the colors and details are amazing! Even food commercials are spectacular. I kept jumping up, pointing to the screen, saying, "Look at this...look at that!" I saw things I have never noticed before in many of our favorite programs.
The television itself is beautifully designed and quite contemporary. The Touch of Red is also nice and does not detract from the program that I am watching (something I had been concerned about). However, it was not a problem at all. I don't even notice it.
My only negative comment has to do with the television's speakers, which are not very good. They are kind of "tinny" sounding, which is probably due to slimming the tv down--there just isn't much room left for good-sounding speakers. However, you can make some adjustments by going into the equalizer and customizing the sound. That does help, but to get really great sound, you should have a "surround-sound" system.
That being said, my family and I are thrilled with this product. Highly recommend checking it out for yourself. Bravo Samsung!!!

Samsung 800 series LCD
Nice. Works well - not perfect but none are - images are great. Special features of on screen weather/news/etc. are ok but I wouldn't buy it just for that. The 800 series are very thin - less than 2 inches - and very light less than 50 pounds. Those two features are worth the extra cost if you ever have to carry it to a new location. If your not going to move it around much don't spend the extra money for this model - get the 500 or 600 series. Same picture less cost but more weight. The remote control is tricky - have to click several times often to get channel changed or sound level adjusted. With all flat screen tv's you have to play around with the picture adjustments to get it to look right. If you have daylight sun on the screen you have to manually adjust for that also - there is no automatic level adjustment setting. Performs well in high sunlight atmosphere but you have to go into the menus and make adjustments for day or night viewing.

For those who worry about returning a big ticket item
Hi - I recently purchased the LN52A850 from Amazon. I have researched lcd and plasma tv spec's until I was convinced which one was best for my viewing habits. It also helps that you have a brother who is the head of research and development for one of the largest medical equipment corporations in the world and has done extensive research and testing on many lcd/plasma screens. His recommendation was lcd over plasma and Samusung (650 and up) or Sony (XBR or Z).

I had my heart set on the Sony 46XBR6, but when I saw the LN52A850 side by side (at RC Willey's) I was sold on the Samsung unit. In fact I originally was going to go with a 46" screen, but when my wife saw the 52" screen she wasn't going to settle for a 46".

I was plesantly surprised to find the lowest price (Almost 0) on Amazon and with free shipping and up to 2 years to pay for it interest free. I ordered the tv and about a week later it arrived. Unfortunately, when the delivery company unpacked it, there was a large ugly crack in the upper right corner of the plastic frame. I immediately called Amazon and they sent out a replacement. They also let me keep the damaged tv until the new one arrived. This allowed me to configure the tv with my content provider and my home theater system. The replacement tv arrived in about a week and it is flawless.

The picture quality is simpily amazing. The picture is bright, the colors are deep and vibrant and the black is black. Even when the sun is out and there is heavy glare the picture is still visible. I have read in some earlier reviews that the sound from the tv is poor at best, but I did not find this to be accurate. The sound from the tv speakers is just as good as two channel stereo from my Sony A/V receiver and is as loud as I need it to be.

All in all I am very satisfied with performance of the Samsung LN52A850 and would recommend it. If your looking to purchase one of the very best lcd screens to view movies, sports or tv shows this tv will not disappoint. The Super Bowl was amazing in HD, I might never get up from the couch again.

Picture Lives Up to the Hipe
I have a 50" Plasma and two 42" LCD's and one 37" LCD HDTV's. The Samsung 52" 850 Series has by far the best picture in my house. All my research and time hanging out at Best Buy paid off. I feel as if I have the best 52" HDTV out there without paying over K.

The picture is good but I am very disapointed the sound quality (wish I had gone with my 2nd choice the Sony Z series).

Better bang for the buck
When I decided to buy a large flat screen, I had assumed I would choose a Sony. However I am soooo happy with my Samsung. It looks beautiful, the picture quality and sound is excellent nor was it anywhere as expensive as a Sony. The price I bought it for on Amazon was cheaper than anywhere else. I was also suprised at how quickly it was delivered. I am VERY satisfied with Samsung and Amazon.

Great HD LCDTV
I've had mine for a few weeks now and so far I've found nothing to complain about.

I think the display is better than my Samsung 550 Plasma and that has a great picture as well. The TOC red is cool, I wanted the TOC blue, but it cost 0 more from amazon. I have this bad boy mounted on a samsung powered wall mount, when TV is turned off it moves back until it's flush against the wall and moves out when powered on. (nice toy) I have a sat receiver going to a samsung upcoverting DVD player feeding the TV via HDMI. The features are too many to detail. I have not tried playing movies via the USB port yet, but I have played movies and pictures over my network. The PC Share Manager software is kind of like shareware but it works well enough that I can delay buying a media server.

I like this LCD to much that I'm going to sell the 50inch series 5 plasma purchased from a SAM's club in August 08 and buy the 52inch series 8 LCD.

We are enjoying our new 46 inch Samsung. The image is great, the sound is good and the feature set is very good. The TV is far better than the instruction booklet, which reminds me of a Japanese computer manual. The manual needs work. We debated this vs. Sony and are happy with the Samsung.

Great TV, the right choice for me
I have had this set for a little over two weeks. I upgraded from my old Toshiba 32" Tube TV and this is my first LCD. I get my signal via an over the air antenna and the Hi def picture on this TV is simply amazing. I did not professionally calibrate it but the picture seems very, very natural looking. I have not had any problems with the remote at all and it works well controlling both the TV and my DVD player.
I have hooked up my laptop to it and am hooked on how good it looks on the screen. This is something that I can already see our family using a lot.

We use the TV in a large well lit family room with very large windows to the side of the TV. I was worried about reflections especially during the day but haven't noticed it all when the TV is on, it is really bright and I have not noticed any problems.

All in all, although I have had limited experience with LCD/Plasma TVs I heartily recommend this one. It is amazingly thin (looks even thinner than it did when I saw it in a store) at less than 2". The red is very muted and actually I wouldn't mind having it come out a bit more than it does, it is definitely less than on on the 650 and 750 models.

My only complaint is that the menu system is a bit clunky and has taken me a while to get used to finding the settings I need. I am getting it, it just seems like it should be a bit easier.

Short but sweet review
Great TV, with two minor points to make:

1) The TV base does not swivel! This is truly ludicrous. Not sure why the smart folks at Samsung can't get this done since EVERYONE needs to swivel their TV from time to time.....

2) I never could figure out what the "touch of red" was all about, until the TV arrived. On the 750, its a tacky 4 inch black plastic frame around the screen, with about a 1/4 inch clear outer rim of clear plastic. The transition from the black to the clear plastic is a thin layer of red. Big f*#king deal. My previous TV was a 40 inch Sony LCD, which frankly looked a bit more dignified. I image some just might like this effect, but those people are probably into "bling". The frame also makes this set look a bit small, since the overall plastic frame is quite wide in relation to the screen.

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
The Good-
AMAZING for both gamers and movie buffs, also the appearance and sense of quality is VERY good. I chose not to buy additional speakers/surround system(attempts at creating surround sound is better than average for this unit), the internal base speaker does a good job in a compact design(can't go above half way without offending neighbors), and saved by not purchasing a home theater so I got an extended warranty(insert tumbs up here).

The Bad-
is how easily the gloss surface finish gets scratched when wipping off dust(water ONLY!!), and lame LAME Ipod wheel on remote.

The UGLY-
the base mount does NOT swivel on a TV THIS expensive!?!? If you need to swivel unit often get used to ugly scratches from sliding the TV base on your furniture.

Overall I would buy this again FOR SURE if in the future small changes are made to following models. Also a small niggle is the delay to hear a chime when the unit powers up or down - it makes you double take every time while you wait for the acknowledgment chime, irritates yes but not a big deal unless you keep waiting then once the TV doesn't turn on you have to pick up the remote again to turn it on while waiting to hear the chime all over AGAIN.

Great little TV!
Got this TV about 3 weeks ago - I am very impressed. TV is in medium sized room, 20 ft ceiling, lots of windows and sun coming in from the sides. The TV works well in bright condition (yes, I know it's winter time, but on a sunny day the sun shines in this room all afternoon and it is very bright).
Am also happy with the wide viewing angle - no loss of color/image from the sides. Blacks are good.
Regular TV from cable box (not HD) looks good.Of course, the picture looks great in HD and with the PS3. No dead pixels. No halo. Sound is good - better than regular TV, but you should not expect large speaker sound.
I'm not sure what the fuss is about the remote - seems easy enough to use.
Also very happy with Amazon and their delivery people who delivered the TV in 1 week - buying online from this place, instead of a local store was definitely a great decision given the significant savings Amazon offers.

Best TV I Ever Owned
I have always in the past purchased Sony TV's as I have always felt they had a superior picture to other brands. However I heard so many good things about the Samsung products, I decided to check them out. I wanted to get a flat panel TV for my bedroom in the 40" to 42" range. As I only watch TV and not DVD's in the bedroom, I felt an LCD would be the best choice and bang for the buck. I was originally going to buy a 6 Series Samsung but read some reviews that the seven series had a better bass response and superior audio than the 6 Series. I checked the specs on both models and the video was pretty much identical and Amazon's price was so good I choise the 7 Series Model LN40A750. Now I have a top of the line Sony 60" HDTV in my living room that I thought had a phnominal picture. That was until I received this Samsung. The picture is so crystal clear with deep black leves that it completely blows away the Sony. The Amazon Delivery guys had it unpacked, setup and programed in less than twenty minutes. They gave me a brief run down on how the remote works and how to navigate the menues. The whole experience from ordering it online, receiving it five days later and having to set it up for me was so painless, I was waiting for something to go wrong. Well I have had the TV for about three weeks now and I love this Samsung TV so much that I am spending more time watching that one than my 60" Sony. Once my wife saw the picture, she said she would never see me in the living room again and while that is not totally true, I am enjoying this TV far more than I thought possible. It has only been three weeks, but so far I can find nothing that I don't like about this TV. Time will tell whether it is as reliable as my past Sony TV's have been, but as of now, I would highly recommend this TV for anyone shopping for a 40" LCD TV. The Menu is easily navigated and I just can't say enough about the great picture. The sound is great for my bedroom, and would probably be just fine in most living room as well. As with any HDTV though, having it hooked up to a real surround Sound system would greatly enhance the experience. But for stock TV sound it is pretty darn good and has a grapic equillizer adjustment to tune the sound to your particular environment. About the only thing that I just don't get is the Red Touch of Color strip around the outside edge of the TV. It really only shows up in bright daylight. Now if it lit up in red, or other colors, that might be cool, but in the bedroom at night it really does not show up. Since that is strictly a cosmetic touch and does not affect the viewing of the TV I would not call it a negative. So far, I can not think of anything i do not like on this TV. I did compare the picture quality to the 5 series Samsung and I can say the difference is night and day. If you watch a lot of TV, then don't scimp for the cheaper model. The 6, 7 and 9 Series are so far superior in picture and sound to Samsungs lower models that it was an easy choice for me to spend a bit more. A TV is something you tend to live with for a long time. If you spend a significant amount of time watching TV and movies, then it becomes very easy to justify the few hunred dollars more for the better series TV. Go to your local electronics store and compare them side by side, and you will easily see how dramtic the difference in picture quality really is. Not only to the lower Samsung models, but to pretty much any other brand of LCD TV.

Great Television
I've had this television for about 20 days now, and I'm extremely satisfied with the product. I did a fair bit of research before pulling the plug.

Concerns before I bought were --
1. The light around the edges that others had written about. But I've made the surroundings dark to check this, but the light is so minimal that its never been an issue.
2. Clear or Matted screen - I'm glad I bought a clear screen as against the matted finish is some other TV's. The picture in this one just stands out. Even channels that are not in HD are great to view.
3. Sound on Samsung televisions - i believe the sound till the 6 series is not so great, and that was one of the reasons I picked up a 7 series though there was a difference of about from the 650. The sound on my 750 is good. Of course, I have not been able to compare it to the Sonys & Sharps in similar settings.

I did alot of research before purchasing and went to Best Buy and Circuit City to see TV's in person. It came down to Samsung and Sony. After reading the reviews on Amazon and other review sites I went with the Samsung. Great picture and features, and saved about 0 over the Sony. I would definately recommend Amazon, about 0 cheaper than anywhere else and free shipping. I would suggest looking at TV's in person and compare prices, you'll buy from here, like I did.

picture qualiy is very nice on digital channels paired it with a samsung wireless home theater system tv remote contols both. watching movies on this set is unreal.

Top 32-inch LCD HDTV
I purchased the Samsung LN32A550 32-inch 1080p LCD HDTV because it was rated tops in that size by "Consumer Reports." After I ordered it I came across some user comments about the sound not being very good, so I was a little concerned -- until it arrived. I unpacked it and set it up very quickly. It is in our den and perhaps the room size has something to do with the sound, but when I selected the SRS sound setting it was perfect for us. The color was perfect out of the box, and I did not have to change any of the settings. The (somewhat large) hand controller is easy to use and the setup and operation are very intuitive. I highly recommend this TV for the appropriate size room.

Samsung 32 inch 1080p LCD HDTV
Samsung LN32A550 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV I bought this TV last month to upgrade from an analog TV. I am very satisfied with it. The delivery persons set it up for me, which I thought was terrific since I am not very good with wires, connections and such. I had a little problem adjusting the color, audio and other adjustments, but finally figured it out. I am very happy with this product. The only drawback is the audio. I had a hard time adjusting that and it doesn't sound like my old set. One other thing I noticed is that it is really warm when I have it on, but don't know if this is normal or not.

Very Impressed
I finally bought this TV after hours of research. I could not be happier with my purchase. I can only compare this to a 42" plasma I view at work. This set blows the plasma away, I can't imagine any one not being satisfied with this super sharp image, really unbeilevable. The price on Amazon was the best by far. Highly recommend.

It's been an education
First of all, I'm an elderly, very unsavvy person, so when I started looking into buying a new TV, I had no understanding of digital, high definition, flat screen, or any of that stuff. My research source was Consumer Reports, and they rated this TV the best and that's why I bought it. I'm very happy with my purchase, but it was a surprise when I learned from my cable company that I would have to have a special box for it. That required an extra investment, but I watch a lot of TV, so I felt it was worth it. As with the other people who have reviewed this TV, I do find that the sound is lacking. The room my TV is in is quite small, so it's not a huge problem, but it is noticeable. However, the picture is fantastic and I highly recommend it.

Samsung 52" LN550 TV
I am very happy with the TV - it's awesome. However, I'm not very happy with Amazon. The day I received the TV Amazon lowered their price for the TV by 0. I contacted Amazon and their best advice was to send this one back and repurchase it at the lower price. When I purchased the TV and talked to their online help, I was led to believe that if the price went down within a short period of my purchase, they would adjust it. No such luck. Their policy of absolutely no price adjustments after purchase should be published on their website. Amazon needs to be more upfront with their customers.

great value
Since ordering my Samsung, I have nothing but good things to say about it. The resolution is awesome, the setup was very easy.
The whole purchase experience was not difficult at all and the price was amzazing.
Make sure when ordering that you also buy HDMI cables ahead of time to ease with the installation.

Excellent TV
I was looking for 52" SAMSUNG for about 6months. I was considering the LN46A630 as it had 120hz but the screen size was small and 120hz was waste of money in my humble opinion. So I finally decided on this TV.

Price:
At the time of purchase, the price at amazon.com was the best price I have a seen from reputable seller plus the 0 GC from Samsung made it even sweeter.

Shipping:
The delivery was thru CEVA and I was a bit worried. The delivery guys were professional. They unpacked the TV attached the stand and set it up on floor as I did not have my TV stand ready at the time. They made sure the TV was working before they left. I also noticed that their truck was half full of all kinds of HDTV's so they must be experienced doing this stuff.

TV:
It is heavier for a single person to handle carefully. The picture was amazing. The factory settings are OK to get started but try changing the settings and you will get the picture that you like in a few minutes.

For the picture brightness, you can change the brightness settings OR change the Power Saving Mode to HIGH setting this will reduce the brightness of the picture and also reduce the power consumption. These is a lot information on calibration settings in the internet for this TV that will give you an idea to get started but there is not much to calibrate as some nerd squads make you think.

I am watching this TV at a distance of 10 feet and it is perfect. I have not tried Bluray but the standard OTA signals in 720p and 1080i look amazing. 480 signals look OK but this TV is not built for 480 signals.

I am happy with the 60hz. I was into getting a 120hz but after watching the difference between them at a local store, I decided that is is not worth the additional $$$. I would spend the additional money on getting a nice Bluray player. I personally feel that 120hz is more of a hype created by the manufacturers.

The sound is OK to get started but I hooked up my Home Theater after a few mins of setting up the TV. It does not do justice to use this TV without a home theater system. I wish Samsung just not include the speakers and give us a price break for the speaker costs.

I wanted a Samsung HDTV and now that I have one, I could not be more pleased. Highly recommend this TV.

Great TV - husband loves it!
No complaints except the tinny sound. Easily fixed once hooked up to good speakers.

Great quality, only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the lousy speaker quality. If you have a home theater system, not an issue, if not, you may have to do what I did...which was buy one. I do love this tv.

Samsung 40" HDTV
I got this tv about a month ago and am very satisfied with it! Its got a beautiful design and the picture quality is fantastic! I haven't had the chance to try out all the features but my cousin has the same tv and his features are awesome, especially the infolink. This is a terrific buy and folks, if you're looking for a tv of great quality with lots of features, this is your best bet! I only wish I would've gotten a bigger size,possibly a 52" or so. However, if you want a medium size tv that wows people who visit your home, this is it. I love it!

Works Well
I was hesitant to buy because I prefer to see the product in person. However this samsung is top of the line. I was originally going to purchase the 32" but decided on the forty, no regrets what so ever. Movies are unreal, with the hdmi cable, which i also bought from amazon. The delivery was excellent, and timely. Not heavy, incredibly thin, and the touch of red is nice.

Samsung650 TV
Good price, great picture and nice remote. But it seems to change channels more slowly than our old TV (old one was not HD). Don't know if this is standard with the HD TVs but it is somewhat irritating when you want to change channels fast to get back to the original show you were watching.

Great TV
I purchased this TV the day after Christmas after about a year of comparing brands, sizes and options.. I must say that I too was a little hesitant in purchasing a tv of this size and cost through Amazon but if all my purchases go this smoothly I would do it again. The picture is amazing, the sound quality is good but I would recommend having a surround system. The "white glove delivery" was ok. One guy showed up unpacked tv and plugged it in. But hey what do you expect for free...
Overall a great TV.

Awesome T.V. Get connected with DLNA.
I have the 750 and besides being everything claimed in the favorable reviews regarding the picture quality, would add that DNLA feature is a must-have. The desire and ability to connect to media streamed from your computer/internet will come sooner of later for all. You basically now have the ability to watch any tv or movie by streaming from existing websites. We're catching up on all episodes of "24," for example, through streams coming from Hulu or Netflix. The technology is new and evolving fast so expect to see great improvements in quality and content soon but, it's a very functional feature right now. If you're torn between the 650 and 750, the 750 is a no-brainer given this connectivity option.

LN52A750 Order Experience
First, about the TV. I am really impressed with the quality of this set. It looks just like the sets on display at B&M stores (if not better). I haven't had a chance to explore all of the features yet, but the picture quality was GREAT out of the box. I would highly recommend this set. It is well worth the small difference in price over the 650 (less than 0 when I ordered). There is also virtually no benefit from going with the 850 (yes the 850 is thinner but that size difference translates into only a 7 or 8 lb. weight savings and the 0 price jump is difficult to justify).

Second, about ordering from Amazon. I have to say that the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Within 48 hours after ordering we received a call to schedule the delivery/setup. 72 hours after ordering, we had the TV setup and in use. The delivery guy was clearly experienced and was quick and thorough. He made sure that I didn't have any questions before leaving. The only surprise was that there was only one guy on the delivery team for a 52" LCD. I am hands on, so I was looking forward to participating in setting up the set (but it was still a mild surprise). In my opinion, no one should have reservations about ordering large ticket electronics from Amazon (unless you want to pay 30% more at a B&M and have a strong desire to pay sales tax). Enjoy the price and service.

What an incredible TV!
About a month ago I bought the Samsung LN52A750. I had some reservations about the "touch of Red" since my room is primarily blue, but the color is quite subtle and actually looks great. (In fact, the finish on the entire TV is pretty incredible.) I considered the A650 but was swayed by the woofer and the DNLA feature which would allow me to play my extensive (6,500+) MP3 songs over my home network - through the TV - into my sound system.

Delivery of my TV was exceptional and worth consideration. I received an email asking me to schedule a specific date and time for delivery. The delivery service confirmed the delivery by phone a day ahead of time. The driver brought the unit into the house and into our desired room, unpacked it and checked it over for visual issues. (none were found) Truly great delivery service.

I hooked the TV up to a Sony 550 BluRay player and have not been able to look away since. I can't say enough about the stunning quality of the picture. The 750 series includes a "woofer" and the sound is very good. No, it's not the same as running the sound through my receiver with powered subwoofer and surround speakers but when you just want to watch some TV without waking the neigbbors, it's fine. The TV also includes TruSurrond XT which seems to give the standard TV sound just a bit more of a 3-D effect without sounding phony.

I have just a couple things that I would like to see improved.

The DNLA feature works as described. I can play MP3's of view photos over my home network. (I have thousands of songs and photos stored on a networked computer.) There are several features to order the songs by title or artist, etc. However you cannot play the music in random order and sorting/navigating through a large collection is a bit awkward. In a similar manner, you can't view your photos randomly. But it would be VERY DESIRABLE to view my photos while playing my music through this system. You can't. Also, after a few minutes of listening to music, the screen goes into a power saving mode and displays a black screen with a randomly flashing "Samsung" logo.

Apparently you can copy your MP3's AND JPG files to a USB drive and plug that into the TV to play music and pictures, but that is not nearly as desirable as playing over the network. I have not really tried this feature and don't know how it performs.

Bottom line is that I love this TV. Excellent finish, picture quality and delivery service. Since the TV is hooked up to the Internet through my home network, it can download software updates from Samsung. I hope that in the future, Samsung will revisit the DNLA software and perhaps add the Random function and allow both music and pictures to display concurrently.

Samsung 52' high def (1080p)
Picture at home is as good as it was on the store model. Clear, easy to use controls, easy setup. Combined with the Samsung Blu-ray DVD you get a picture as clear as any you see in the best movie houses. It also makes a heck of a computer monitor.

Amazing
Amazing picture with Xbox 360, PS3, HD DVR and Blu-Ray Movies. Only setback is the remote seems sluggish at times. Picture quality excellent.
