If after your blogs start loading successfully and you try to access any of your posts and get a 404 Error message, it is very easy to fix the problem. Log in to your blog and go to the Dashboard. Then scroll down to the “Settings” section in the left menu bar and click on “Permalinks”. Then simply click on “Save Changes” and the page will reload showing “Permalink structure updated.” at the top of the under the words “Permalink Settings”. Now try to access your posts and they will start appearing.

Note that we were able earlier to get rid of the redirect loop error but persons were still unable to log into their blogs. The issues are being worked on as we speak and as soon as we resolve the issues, we will let you know.

We are looking forward to SLG being as vibrant as it was in the past. In fact, we hope that it will be even more so from this point forward.

I know you are all wondering what is going on since we announced that SLG came back online a few weeks ago. Well, here’s what’s up: we are still unable to re-open the site to existing and new users because we are still testing the functionality of the site with the new blog format, i.e. http://safelistgrande.com/your-blog-name/. We have to ensure that the system will stand up under varying conditions.

In addition, we have still not completed converting the old blogs into the new format. This process has been compounded by the fact that we have to focus on other critical areas at times and take a break from the re-formatting process.

It is our desire to be fully operational again within the next few weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience that has been caused but would like to remind you that the service we provide is free and as such no one gets paid to do what we have to do. As soon as we have completed the updating and testing processes, we will let you know.

FYI: As means to offset our operating expenses, the following 2 measures have been implemented:

(1) A Donation button has been placed on the main page, towards the bottom, of Safe List Grande. Kindly make donations as you see fit.
(2) AdSense ads have been added to all the themes in the system. We are not asking you to go crazy clicking on those ads since they are really meant for your readers.

A point to note too is that if over a reasonable period of time we do not see what we consider to be sufficient revenue coming from donations and AdSense ads to aid in offsetting our operations, we will have one of two options:

(a) Either we shut down the site or
(b) start charging membership fees (this would affect existing and new users). Such a fee, however, would be affordable and not a burden to users.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this necessary change, but at the same time we would like to remind you that we are offering a free service and as such:

(1) are under no obligation to anyone whatsoever as it relates to a sustained provision of the service, and
(2) we could not continue hosting the service on a high priced VPS server due to the fact that we are getting no revenue from the service.

There is something important that we want you to note: Due to the massive size of the database that held all the posts made by users of this website, not all the information contained in it could be saved. This means that there are a number of blogs that have vanished. We were however able to save everyone’s data, i.e. username, password, email address, and log in data. If you try accessing your blog using the new format and are unsuccessful, it simply means that your blog was not transferred successfully. Before the move to the new server, we asked everyone to backup their posts and post dates, tags and categories. We sincerely hope you did that. All you need to do now is go to your blog (re-create it if it does not exist) and re-add the posts from your backup.

We have placed a donation button on the SAFE LIST GRANDE main page where you can make voluntary donations of any amount you choose towards the running of the site. Please note that the donations are not mandatory and will not prevent you from getting a blog on SAFE LIST GRANDE. Monies collected will help to defray maintenance costs. All persons who donate will be acknowledged on the main page.

NOTE: Registration/Sign-up has been temporarily disabled as we are still adding content that existed before the move. As soon as this restriction has been lifted, we will make an announcement.

If after signing up for your blog and then go to its URL and you see the image above, DO NOT PANIC. There is nothing wrong with your blog. That page will remain there until you make your first post. After that, your blog will start appearing normal.
