I was just reading the latest news from DogTipper and came across another doggeh blog called Peace, Love and Poodles which I thought was one of the coolest blog names I’ve ever seen so I decided to check it out.

Peace, Love and Poodles is written by a poodle called Petey Creech who lives in Erwin, North Carolina.

Petey blogs pretty regularly and I liked his latest post about describing yourself so I’m joining in.

• Describe yourself in seven words: Hungry, Sleepy, Loveable, Persuasive, Extroverted, Cute, Fluffy.

• What keeps you up at night: An invisible force that makes me bark loudly at the dark.

• Who would you like to be: Sadie Shih Tzu but with more foods.

• What are you wearing now: Nothing. I’m naked except for my new red leather collar.

• What scares you: My man-person shouting, strangers.

Some nice lady contacted me a while ago and asked if I would like to review one of their lovely Canada Pooch rain jackets. Being the good doggeh I am, of course I said yes.

I’m wearing the Storm Slicker.

The coat fits perfectly (size 12) and does up with easy velcro under my belly. It also has reflective stuff on the sides along the handy zippie pocket thingies. A good place for storing treats, me thinks!

The main problem I had with the jacket was that I didn’t like moving in it at all. It’s not stiff fabric. It’s very nice rain coat material – unfortunately the label doesn’t say what it’s made from. But I’m weird like that. I prefer to be naked.

The second problem I had was not being able to see when my person put the hood up. It’s perfectly possible that the hood is only for decoration and not meant to be used. If you think this is the jacket for you, don’t expect the hood to be functional.

The great thing about this Canada Pooch jacket is that the hood zips right off bringing instant relief. And sight!

It also has a little slit for your harness clasp between the shoulders.

If you’re looking for a cute rain coat, this is a great option. And I really like that pockets are real pockets. But if you don’t like getting a wet head, don’t get this.

I am SO fancy pants now.

My person spent a hundred million dollars on a Buddy Belt for me yesterday. Ok, maybe it wasn’t that much but it did cost a lot of kibble.

It’s basically a harness made from leather by a Canadian company. I have always walked with a harness but my person wanted one of these for me. So we headed to our favourite Winnipeg doggeh store Hip Pooch.

Mrs Roxane Pettipas who runs the Buddy Belt company says this on her website:

The Buddy Belt concept started in the summer of 1997, when Buddy, a miniature Dachshund came into my life. Buddy was just over a year old at the time and was soon to become the star of and inspiration for BUDDY BELT.

Each time Buddy went walking, he would gag and cough. This made me realize that he needed something other than a neck collar. The harnesses available were difficult to use and did not always protect the neck. I then made the first Buddy Belt prototype using a piece of tire rubber. I took the prototypes to two different leather-workers to create a more refined form. After working with a leather designer for a day, I learned how to create patterns and templates specifically for leather. Next, I invested in tools, equipment and materials needed to create my own harnesses.

Dog Stories is a short film from 1992 – long before I was born.

It was made by a filmmaker lady who loves dogs and has many of her own, and horses.

My person has met her a lot and played with her dog Gepetto (a wirehaired Dachshund) who is, like, a pedigree and does shows and stuff. And is very handsome.

A friend passed this link on to us today and we were left speechless after watching the clip from Dog Stories. There are some very strange people in the world.

Hi, I’n Ella Fitz’Gerald and my dear pal Sadie ax me to give a speech on summit. So after carefull figuration, I acided to speech about the importance of exercise safely.

Is that time of years again when we got to get outside, feel a spring in our shoes (even flip-flops!) and enjoy outdoor ak-tivities. Like racing after nothin in partikalur (these epi-sodes are called ‘zoomies’) or mebbe a birdie, squirlie (sorry Peanut the Squirrel!) or any other thing that might capture your fancy to chase.

You also might ex-resize yourself (or person) by walking, jogging (not me – gives me hay-uh frizzies) or lolly gagging (of which I an an expert.)

Now, lemme stress, is verra verra important to not get hurt.

No afleet wants injury. Because you know why? Because it hurts you daft doodle. An I’n all about being comfortable (pls to see photo below).

 So, when racing about, do it in short spurts as I haf illustrated in my short video (below – if you’re reading this via email you’ll need to go to the post on my site to see the video). Pay carefulls attention to my brief exursions. Nothing crazy. Working off those calories safely. That’s EXERCISE SAFELY!

And as an example of wreckless zoomie-ness I have a piture here of my sister Minnie Pearlie. She injured herself by running and racing at the same time! You cannot do that. You will get hurt, like she did. And guess what? Yep, you guessed it Einstein, it’ll hurt!

 Then the question then is to zoom or not to zoom. And the answer is this: practise exercise safely so you don’t wind up a medicated zoombie!
