But that is usually the way it goes with your local LAN party scene. You can create a schedule, a game list, have everything prepared to go the way you want it to only have everybody play something random the whole time!

The cool thing about NWALAN is that it’s all go with the flow, play what makes you happy.

Well, QuakeWars, CoD4 and Warsow seemed to be calling to us gamers on Saturday.

I meant to take some pics but I just gamed out the whole time haha! There are plenty of galleries of pics (with some of this LAN to come in a few days) to view here. Can you blame me? I got you a little teaser of what goes on at our LANs:

If you’ve never played Warsow it’s a great FREE First Person Shooter that is pretty much Quake 3 but much faster plus wall jumping Still a big community that plays check it out www.warsow.net

Then after the LAN, R3D and 1337Beard (who has a 1337 beard) came over to the house to get down on some Xbox360. After smashing each other’s faces in UFC we followed it up with a little SoulCaliber4 to keep the fighting game action strong. To wrap up the night we ended it with some Worms on the XBL Arcade. We mostly accomplished blowing ourselves up to all hell and playing whoever survived killing themselves the longest won unintentionally haha!

Wanted to give a quick plug for ESEA since I talk to so many people who still don’t know what it is. If you are a Counter-Strike 1.6/Source or Team Fortress 2 player listen up.

If you scrimmage or play pick-up games with your team and friends, you’ve definitely experienced the pitfalls of getting a decent game. From gathering together your friends, hitting IRC and finding a good team,  to crossing your fingers nobody on your or their team rage-quits before it’s all over… it can be a frustrating experience.

Well here comes ESEA to make the most out of your precious gaming hours. It’s a competitive community website packed with features that even has it’s own League to compete in.

But the real gem of this site is the ESEA Client. In a nutshell it’s a Scrimmage and Pick-up Game client complete with Anti-Cheat for Counter-Strike 1.6, Condition Zero, Source and Team Fortress 2. There’s everything from Pugs, Jump Maps, Aim-Maps, League Servers and it’s own in game message system.

Instead of telling you everything about the site I’ll just give you 10 reasons why you should become a member:

1.) An Anti-cheat that actually works and catches people daily, just check out the Ban List.

2.) If anybody rage-quits or drops the game isn’t over, people jump in to replace fallen players within a round or two.

3.) In game system to chat with your buddies in other servers with in game updates about where your friends are playing.

4.) HLTV Server recordings of all games stored on the server for you to download and view!

5.) Prizes at the end of the month for top fraggers, most aces, most defuses… the list of awards goes on and on and on!

6.) Clips of the Week showcasing the best frags from users created by users.

7.) Live admins on call nearly 24/7 in case someone is trashing the game, teamflashing, mic spamming, etc

8.) Live stat keeping right down individual kill/death ratios with each gun! How many clutches, head shot percentage ratio, even who the most cowardly of the game was haha!

9.) It’s own League with cash money prizes at the end of the season.

Always wanted to see what it was like behind the scenes of ESEA and it’s exciting to finally be a part of it. Met Craig Levine (owner of ESEA) at the WCG USA Invitational a few weeks ago and convinced him to give me a shot at it. Too bad he says I’ll never get a free account considering the check I got haha

But if you play Counter-Strike or Team Fortress 2 make sure you check out the site and get a trial account to see what you’ve been missing.

Gamer’s Garage
Last week I did a podcast with the guys over at the Gamer’s Garage from the10k.com. They do one hell of a weekly show covering Game, Event and Movie reviews, Guest interviews, Community drama and news, and everything gaming related mixed in with a whole lot of Random.
