Runner is the story of Bruce Kidd, a Toronto racer training for the Commonwealth games. A young dreamer, driven to succeed. He would go on to shatter 15 Canadian records, and a few American records as well, including one when he beat New Zealand’s Murray Halberg, the 1960 5,000 meter Olympic champion. He retired after the 1964 Olympics.

The film is mesmerizing, captivating, impressive and inspirational at the same time. Now, personally I have always watched B/W movies from the 40’s to the 60’s, just as much as I have been listening to jazz since my teens so I totally dig this piece of art. If you are unfamiliar with the B/W movie era and its way of filming and storytelling, let alone poetry and jazz for that matter, I urge you to try something new and spend the next 11 minutes of your life watching this. As one runner to another, I urge you to open your mind, be in the moment and this will surely add something of value to your personal development.

It has no problems with loosing fingers and toes to the cold but it will remain pumping blood to your head. Part of that blood goes back to your heart and along the way heat loss occurs at an accelerated rate. Another highlight in the world of marathons is the Nike Vaporfly running shoe. Much, if not all has been said about the 4% shoe so adding something new to the technicalities is undoable. But all hail to the methods of colorways!

The Nagata is a performance eyewear system that was developed over a two year technical testing period, involving New York City athletes and Japanese engineering. The frame features D+ lens technology, an adjustable hypoallergenic rubber nose pad and temple tips with a titanium core.

The District Vision (D+) lens technology is constructed from a proprietary form of polycarbonate material, which is shatterproof and anti-scratch. The Sky G15 lens provides maximum sun protection and allows 11.57% light transmission. The interior of the lens features an anti-reflective application for holistic eye protection.

DOXA is a Copenhagen-born running brand, who is specializing in high performance running apparel with an urban and sporty approach. In February, the brand launched its debut Spring 2016 collection through an online Kickstarter campaign. Building on founder John Hansen’s extensive experience in the worlds of both running and fashion, the limited collection consists of the essential running outfit for the spring season: a race singlet, a pair of race shorts and, for chilly days, a half-zip long-sleeved T-shirt.

Thus far goes the introduction of the LunarEpic story that will be further unfold the coming months. Nike has stated that is has developed the future of running. Still the central element of the shoe remains an ultra lightweight and breathable Nike Flyknit upper. A newly added detail is the extension of the outer material. This sock like feature reaches above the ankle and provides a physical and sensory secure grip. The Nike Flywire fibers provide additional support and a snug, but at the same time dynamic fit.

Let me assure you, this is not just an aesthetic update to cash in some more on all the interest in the shoe. No, this is a serious upgrade of a near perfect running shoe.

So what’s the fuzz about the ST? In short it is essentially the same old Ultra BOOST we know, but the midsole is engineered in a multi-density manner to minimize excessive pronation. In other words, a stability bar has been added to the midsole to help runners who tend to pronate.

So who is this shoe for? Basically those runners that have favorited the Ultra BOOST for its cushioning 100% Boost midsole but had the feeling they could do with a bit more support.
