Article One: High tech Election battle is low enough?

March 2009, India: Its time again to dance, with the democracy. Throw away money in Election 2009 is going to be the largest spending for an event (Election) in India which is expected to be Rs.10,000 crores (USD 2 Billion plus). Major stake holders getting in to the battle ground with sharpened weapons, which is termed "High Tech" (Even though its not high tech!) this time.

2004; BJP Saga; the lost world strategy

In 2004 lok sabha election, with INDIA SHINING campaign, BJP eColoured their face with the so called high tech weapons. The then technology like SMS, Internet Ads, Emails, web sites and other media campaigns which was meant only for the the upper middle class and techno saavy generation. The quantity of target audience was very less compaired to the RURAL INDIA which doesn't have mobile phones and computers.

The only thing BJP promoting now is the, ONE AND ONLY ADVANIji. Every one knows about the power battle between Atalji and Advaniji inside the party. And this time every one know its the time for Advaniji. But to show to the world; Advaniji is caring and a well wisher to Atalji, the web site of Mr. Advani ( Ref: http://lkadvani.in ) is "kind enough" to promote the old king Atalji as a person who is sick and in bed rest, now. what a polite ( and political ) way to show the message to public!. Here Mr.Advani is smart enough to use the medium for the message. but its only to prove him as a supreme power in BJP and not a great leader of India.

The Party, BJP has ruled India several times, and enough power in different states, a long list of leaders with proven strategy have "out shined" by the High Tech strategy of Mr.Advani this time. Even though BJP can claim an edge over opponents in several states; all the efforts are going to be washed off with one face AD (Advertisement) VANI (Voice)

was this the way BJP has to handle the technology?

Indian National Congress

Not a front runner in High Tech campaign last time; INC is gearing up for High tech campaign this time. People without having one time meal is going to hear the Nuclear deal (-No clear deal -for the poor) and successful mission in Moon orbit through electronic media; which doesn't going to be music for the rural India.

The smiling face and hiding wisdom of the mindbloging, MAN MOHAN SING is more than enough for INC to regain the power. The energy comes from the youth icon from the Nehru family is capable enough to drive the youth power; still the congress is going to the High tech way this time, not the people way.

The vary basics of winning the mind share is not on top; its on the low ground, the so called " grass root level" but who will take the risk of being out of High tech mania?

Before going for election next time; any political party can try any of the options below to become the choice of people
Free computers and computer education for all rural India
Free Smart phones to all (entry level phone doesn't have email and Internet on it!)

Lesson to Parties

Make people rich enough, to be tuned, with Technology, to be tuned. Otherwise get ready to be a victim of mishandling technology.
