Snake in the Tree Trunk

Daddy was not in the mood for walking the other day because it was too hot, so I took the Burritos in the park. We had a blast once again.

The Burritos made me a dandelion ring.

Look what we ssaw in this tree trunk, doesn't it look like a snake? Pretty neat!

Even though it was hot, they wanted to try this toy car that was displayed in an ice cream parlor.

Healthy Family Bonding

Another ordinary but fun-filled day for us to enjoy mother nature. We all went to Mary Weir Memorial Park.

Our son has grown up physically and emotionally. Last year, he would go for a walk with us but whenever we are going home, he would ask us to carry him, but now he walks like a big man.

There is this big tree with a V shape trunk and we love climbing on it.

Looking for some bugs is what they really love to do in the woods.

What I love about going for a walk is the fresh air, beautiful flowers, lovely critters, and most especially the time we spend for each other. It's a healthy family bonding during summer time.

Summertime is here which means that I need to be very creative with my kids. They constantly wants to do things everyday and sometimes it is hard to keep up. y daughter is into making little accessories out of bead. I think that t she would love to have large hole gemstone beads. She have a ton of beads at home but they are way little so it is hard for her to put the string on.

Here are some more of the photos that my husband took when we went to my BIL's property in Chester. This is why I never leave my camera everywhere I go. I think there are occasion where I forgot my house keys or car keys but never my camera lol.

I just want my kids to see what we did in the past as a family. I am sure that they will forget some of the things as they are still very young but with pictures, they will remember.

My kids and I did some gardening today when we came back home from our family walk. We decided to re-plant some bean seeds to replace the ones that we planted earlier. The birds were picking the leaves that their growth was affected. II am a little disappointed about the progress of our plants this year. Everything seems to so slow and don't look as healthy as last year. I think, it would have something to do with the crazy weather that we have had from last month. I may have to invest into a good plant food like organic plant food from Whitney Farms®. In fact, I got upset with our little Max a couple of days ago because he ruined the herbs that me and my daughter have planted. My sweet Rylie a.k.a Ms. Burrito came home yesterday with a surprise. She made me a special Mother's day card in school. The back of the card has a folded paper with drawing that says "Moms make children blossom". Isn't that the sweetest thing?

Sharpening Skills

We decided to Chester last weekend to visit my brother-in-law, Rick and his wife Jill. It's a 45 minutes drive from our place but we love to go there because they own a big piece of land and we enjoy exploring the woods.

The couple have put some chemicals to clean up the swimming pool, they said that it would be ready in a couple of weeks.

We brought Dad with us and we also brought his two old guns together with my husband's 45 caliber. I never had the courage to fire a gun before but this time I conquered my fear.

Ms. Burrito is braver than me actually. She never hesitated to fire Dad's 25 pistol. Mr. Burrito on the other hand did not want to do it. He was contented with his toy gun. Please don't be alarmed, my husband has training when it comes to firing so it was really safe to take the kids with us. We just want to sharpen our skill in handling a gun.

We set up a piece of wood as a target. Hubby can shoot pretty good. I fired twice and Ms. Burrito tried one shot.

We went down the hill where it's safe, far from the house. Going down is fun but coming up is a little hard for Mr. Burrito lol. Nevertheless, we had so much fun!

Relaxing Sunday

The photos below were taken last Sunday after we got out from church. We decided to take the kids to the park at Marland Heights before we visit Dad.

Ms. Burrito wasn't feeling really well that day, we figured that if she gets enough fresh air that she will be okay, and she did! A relaxing Sunday spent in nature and family, just perfect!

Let me tell you some Q-things about me. I am a quiet type, I am not good with quarrels, I used to be quick-tempered but I think that I am getting better at it now.

It is so nice to spend quality time with family especially your kids. They grow up so fast and soon they will leave your care and have their own lives. Hubby and I wants to enjoy the moment that we have now with them.

Horsey Ride

Daddy was playing rough and tumble with Champ (our JRT) and we decided to join the fun. Poor Dad, he carried the three of us in his back lol. Our Burritos used to do this when they were little and called it "Horsey Ride".

It was raining that day so we couldn't go out to play so we just enjoyed spending time inside the house.

Dandelion Treats

Our two bunnies (Wubzy and Matilda), love to eat dandelions. Since there are so many in our neighborhood, my kids and I always picked some when we go for a walk or coming home from school.

These two gets so excited whenever they see these flowers. It is like a sweet treats to them.

If Ms. Burrito is serious in picking flowers, the other one is seriously spreading out the dandelions wahhh. He would always "Make a wish!"

I read an article about dandelions or the Traxacum Officinale and found out that as pesky as it is these weeds to some people, the herbalists consider it as a valuable herb in treating some health condition like liver problems, skin problems, heartburn and more. It said on the article that Dandelions are rich in Vitamins A, B complex, C, and D and minerals such as Potassium, zinc, and iron. It is interesting to note that dandelions can be used as an added flavor to salads, sandwiches and tea. The roots are used in some coffee substitutes and the flowers are used to make wines.

My daughter love everything that she sees around the environment. Animals, flowers, grass, trees, birds and even insects. After we joined the parade for the 4th of July celebration, she saw these toadstools in our neighbors yard and she got so interested that she fired me a lot of questions about it. So when we went home I searched online and explained it to her.

Both hubby and I love nature and I am gad that both of our kids are nature lovers as well. The photo below was taken during our last trip in Osan, South Korea. I miss being in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Mother's day is fast approaching and I am getting excited of the project that my daughter made in school for me. I keep on asking her what she made but she don't want to spoil the excitement hehehe. Last year, she made me a decorative tile and I love it! Now if you want to be fancy, you can design your own mother s ring and send it during the special occasion for Moms! I would love to see my Mom on that special day but the distance will hinder me from doing so. I miss her so much!

I mentioned in my foodie blog that my niece-in-law is into making desserts like cupcakes, cake pops, and stuff like that. I think she watches that show called cupcake wars or something and she get different ideas that she makes some of them and let us try them. They were delicious which the kids love so much. Chewing Gum

I was browsing my old posts when I just started blogging and I found this one and thought of reposting it.

This was original posted on July 21, 2008 when we were still living in S. Korea.

My daughter Rylie love chewing gum. The other day we went to the store and as my husband was paying at the counter, Rylie slid a roll of chewing gum in front of her Dad. She was so sleak.. The cashier laughed to her gesture.

When we arrived home, she immediately opened it and stuck the whole thing in her mouth. Me and my husband were laughing but at the same time concerned that she might choke on it. Well, I think that she got tired of chewing it that she fell asleep. I tried taking it out but she resisted so we just let her took her nap with the gum inside her mouth.

My husband went to the bedrom to check on her and he came back and told me "where's the camera?" I said "why?". He said "I have to take this awesome pose". And here it is: Poor little thing!

My husband is so busy reviewing for his finals next week. He is scared that he might bomb the test that he will take on tax. He said that if he fails this test, he is done with accounting. He doesn't want to retake a subject because it would be a waste of time. So I am praying that he pass which I believe he will. He is just being so hard on himself. I want him to be able to finish the accounting degree, who knows he might land on one of the accounting raleigh jobs or anywhere in the States. I hate quitting so I worried when my husband is worrying too much. But I am sure that he can pull it off. He is too smart too fail. I might be biased but I believe in him!

How do you feel when it's raining? I don't like rainy days, they always make me feel kind of sad. Today is one of those boring days, the rain started last night and it's already 5 o'clock in the afternoon now and it still pouring.. My kiddos can't go outside so all they can do is make a mess around the house. Gosh, drives me nuts! It's hard to keep the house organized when you have makukulit ones. Well, all we can do is just enjoy the moment.

Weekend is house cleaning for me but sometimes when I get caught up with online tasks, I do it on Sundays before we go to church.
