Sacred Heart of Mary

Me, the kids, and Mrs. Fancher went to Sacred Heart of Mary last Friday. They had a garage sale inside the church. ~~(I find it weird having a garage sale inside the church as I believe selling stuff near God's home is against the Bible, or maybe I just misinterpreted what the Bible say)~~.

Anyhow, the lady who was managing the sale saw Mr. Burrito trying on the Junior Firefighter hat so she gave it to him for free.

Looking at stuff, asking questions and all lol.

I only bought a couple of items. I like this Benihana flower vase from Peru. It was only a buck. It's perfect for my fresh roses.

I got this unique picture frame for a a buck as well.

I am making myself as busy as I can to fight this feeling of loneliness without my kids at home. I did not imagine missing my son's loud voice but I do!

Robinson Mall

We made two shopping trips to buy clothes for our Burritos last week. We went to Robinson Mall first then we went to Steuben Mall on a separate day. Shopping in the mall would not be complete if the kids don't go to the play area.

Saw this colorful decoration hanging from the ceiling of the mall.

When we came home, I couldn't pass the opportunity of taking pictures of the sunflower's shadow on the garage door and brick wall.

Knee Pain

Once in a while my father-in-law's knees are bothering him so he has to use the medi compression stockings that my SIL bought for him. He gets frustrated sometimes due to the pain but I think that for his age,m, he is doing pretty well with just occasional knee pain. I wish that I would get old as healthy as my FIL is. Good thing is that, my sister in law is a nurse so she knows what to buy in cases like this one.

Anniversary Dinner

We had a simple dinner at Eat n' Park for our wedding anniversary. We love to eat there because the staff are very friendly. The ambiance is very relaxing and clean and the food is good and not expensive.

Each of us has a favorite food to eat there. My husband love pot roast sandwich, Ms. Burrito love the salad bar, Mr. Burrito like grilled cheese, and I love their nantucket cod.

Thanks to Angel, the waitress who served us. She had so many customers to attend to but I commended her for being so energetic despite of her work load.

Volleyball and Badminton Set

Remember the new badminton set that I bought at a yard sale for $5? Hubby and I set it up at our backyard and the kids love it.

The little wants to play volleyball while the little Miss wants to play badminton. We have to alternate playing the two so everyone is happy.

The shuttlecocks got stock on top of the crab apple tree. I shook the branch but the shuttlecock did not fell so I climbed to get it.

We play with it every day. The only problem we have is our pup who love to chew the strings that keeping the posts up.

Having a decent yard is great especially if you have kids and pets.

Ice Rink

After our busy day exploring Chester and New Cumberland, we visited my father-in-law. On our way home, we dropped by at Marland Heights Park to see their progress of the so called plan of tearing the swimming pool down and turn it into an ice rink. We found out that they haven't started it yet.

It was nice though because we met with two of my husband's old friends whom he seldom see.

It would be nice if they can push through with having an ice rink because there is no one that is near the area.

Anyhow, our Sunday was a busy one. We were out of home the whole day. It was already dark when we got home but it was all worth it as the kids had so much fun!

Dining Table

We planed to turn our dining room into a bedroom this year but it's not looking possible. We will hold it until next year when the money is available to do the project. We have a big set of dining furniture which we bought when we first moved in five years ago but we seldom use it as we have a table in the kitchen which we frequently uses. It is not a reclaimed wood dining table but I like it because it is made by one of the companies that make high end furniture. When we push through with the project, we will be moving our dining room furniture on the other part of our living room. We will divide our living room into two so we could use it as a dining room as well.

Transit Bus Ride

Our kids always wanted to experience riding the transit bus here in Weirton. We finally decided to ride it last Saturday. While waiting for the bus, we took some photos.

The fare for each adult is $2 and the kids are free.

Most of the passengers of the transit bus are the old folks who live in an apartment downtown.

We finished the entire route of the bus so we get to see some parts of the town that we seldom drive into. The bus driver was very nice to let us finish the whole laps of his route.

It was a good experience for us, it was my kids and my first time riding a public vehicle here in the area.

My father-in-law has this manual yard edge trimmer. My husband showed the Burritos how to use it when we visited Dad a couple of days ago.

Children's curiosity is a great way to introduce them to things like this one.

I like this kind of trimmer because you do not need to charge it or put string in it to cut grass. The next day after my husband showed our kids how to use the trimmer, we saw Dad's neighbor using their manual lawn mower which I found to be very neat and practical to use. I'd love to own manual lawn mower and trimmer because it is convenient and cheaper to use. You don't need gas to operate them and it's not as noisy as the electric ones.

Rainbow

There's always a first time for everything right? With my 7 years of living here in the States, the very first time I saw a rainbow was last month when we were driving home from Kennywood. My husband saw it in the rear view mirror so the only way I could take a picture of it is through the back window of our car.

The photos below were taken last Sunday after we got out from church. We decided to take the kids to the park at Marland Heights before we visit Dad.

Ms. Burrito wasn't feeling really well that day, we figured that if she gets enough fresh air that she will be okay, and she did! A relaxing Sunday spent in nature and family, just perfect!

Let me tell you some Q-things about me. I am a quiet type, I am not good with quarrels, I used to be quick-tempered but I think that I am getting better at it now.

It is so nice to spend quality time with family especially your kids. They grow up so fast and soon they will leave your care and have their own lives. Hubby and I wants to enjoy the moment that we have now with them.

Brave

We didn't go to the movie theater till recently. Before Ms. Burrito's 7th birthday, we decided to watch the Brave movie at a local theater here in our area.

It was my kids first time to go to a movie house and mine as well.

Hubby and I were concerned that the little boy won't sit still but he did and we're glad!

The movie house was old so we removed our clothes and throw it in a washer right away because we did not want to take a chance of dragging any bed bugs inside our home.

Movies always ends up in good ending right? when we go back to reality, it's the other way around. With the recent shooting in Colorado for the premiere showing of the the movie "Batman", I don't think we will go to the movie house again real soon. It's very scary.

Being brave is great but how do you do that when you do not know the person you are dealing with? For the past week, a private and unknown number keeps calling our home phone, the phone would rung even at 2 in the morning. When my husband answers it, he won't talk. Well, yesterday, I answered it and this is what the pervert caller have said.

Pervert: "Hey, what are you doing?"

Me: (Puzzled) Who is this please?

Pervert: Do you know what this huge c@%*k can do for you this afternoon?

Me: (Shaking this time and lost my cool).. Get lost! (hang up)

I am terrified because I think about the safety of my kids. How did this insane caller got our phone number? We pay an additional fee every month so that our number won't show in phone books. Only few people knows our number, just family and close friends.

My husband called the phone company to see what they can do and how to catch this predator. The phone company then gave us instruction how to block this kind of caller. They also gave us other option on how this caller's number would appear in our caller ID. I am hoping for the best that we would be able to catch this perve.

After the incident, I feel like someone is watching us, just waiting for the opportunity to do bad thing to us. Oh Lord, please protect us!

Missing My Mom

I talked to my mother a couple of weeks ago when she visited my sister who is studying in the city. It's been a while since we last talk so I miss her so much. It is hard to contact her in the place where she lives because the signal for cellphone there is too weak. I am glad that my friend let her use their landline phone because we had a better reception and we heard each other very clearly. I have been talking my mother into coming here because I really do miss her but I don't think she would like it in here. Beside, she won't be able to take the very cold temperature during winter time. I know that it is impossible for me to be with my Mom often so I make sure to provide her some of the things that could make her life feel a little lighter and better.

Hubby and I agreed that no matter how difficult life is in here, we have to make sure to help my Mom because we know that life there is much harder than over here. Thinking of her makes me so sad every time, I would love to be there for her but I just can't. I was looking at Parentgiving website to see what I could get for her and found this rest neck pillow. I think that this would help her sleep better. I wish that I could buy her a nice and comfortable bed. I have to work on this one to make it happen. A bed rails made for king size bed would be great to help old folks in getting up and moving around their bedroom.

Twister

This is one of the gifts that my sister-in-law Chris has given Ms. Burrito for her birthday. This game is called twister, it's a game that ties you up in knots. A good exercise for my Burritos. It is also a great alternative that keeps them busy when we can't go to the park or when it's raining outside and we can't play. This game is full of twist and turn, kind of like life in general hehehe.

My husband went with his brother yesterday and submitted his resume. He is getting bummed that he sent out applications from different companies but only two of them called him for interview. He gets this impression that most of the employers around the area doesn't like hiring Veterans. But anyhow, the company where my brother-in-law works is a manufacturing company that has been around for years. They use big machinery to make fiesta wares and other kitchen products. It would be nice to learn this kind of craft with the use of high tech gadgets like the the ones that VibrAlign has in their website. The company specializes in laser alignment, they also offer training for those who wants to be a specialist in laser alignment. I am guessing that employees in a manufacturing company has to have a skill that is needed to the job efficiently. These photos were taken when we were still in Korea. We used to go to the park near the ocean and one fine afternoon, there were displays for some kind of a presentation out there.

I don't know what they call those instruments but there is a kind of music instrument called zither that I read online. According to crosswordsolver.org, ZITHER is a musical instrument with string stretch over a flat sounding box, it is laid flat and played with a plectrum and with fingers. Thank you for all the people who are supporting the men and women in uniform, through you our troops stays brave and confident. I am specially dedicating this day to my father in law who fought during WW2, he lost a brother for this battle. And to my husband who is very dedicated and proud being in the Navy.
