Better late than never they say. When almost all of us thought no more snows or no more negative temperatures, the snow and cold came! It's not bad though, more fast calories burning, refreshed feeling, cleaned grounds, etcetera, etcetera! For me, taking photos on this rare weather condition is always a pleasure!

Basketball Alone (No Teammates)...Sad!

Today, it was a very congenial weather in Zuid Holland. I was able to do basketball in the park and had time also to practise with my new inline skates. I have bettercontrol now than last week. I moved to a bigger wheeled one and a faster better inline skates but I have topractise before I can get used to it...And I do love it! Much! This post is for the basketball part, though. :=) Riminisching..

Exploring the Neigborhood and my Lucky Day

One weekend, Amò and I decided to walk around the neighborhood and just wander around. We ended at this little park where there's no one and it's quite not maintained. It's a pity why this is the state of this little park but it's not as bad as it is assumed to be I think. There are still ducks floating in thepond/pool but the cleanliness is not up to standard. Maybe it's the size? Or maybe the positon that the sun really does not she its rays over there? No idea. See some photos....

A Few Vienna, Austria Experience: City, Colleagues, Food, Delicacies

I was in Vienna for 2 days, the end of March and the first of April, and it was a pity I could not really give much to look around and to enjoy as tourist. Little as I could, I tried my best. Generally, the city center was amazing. The buildings were so much different from other cities I have seen. I mean, the uniqueness, the solid structures and looks of the building all over the center and the nearby areas were really something that struck me.

About the food, nothingmuch to say. I don't know what's the traditional Wien food so no comment here. But mylunch wasnot good enough... the lunch from the Botschaft in the photo.

The delicacy, the choco-filled-layered mozartskugeln (mozart's bullets)is really yummy. Below are some of the personalphotos with colleagues and the city.

We had our guests a couple and 3 kids during the Christmas holiday. They're from another country... in a city where Mercedez Benz was born (guessing time). During Christmas, we had to show them around, especially the kids because they are here with us only for a few days. As we were walking to get the tram to someplace around, we passed by this park near where we live... but along the way, there were fun sighting too. See them below.

It was Christmas Day and the snow was thick but the sun was shining.

We had also fun watching at this resting (or sleeping?) bird at the top of the street light!

Lucky ducks, they have a portion of the little lake left not frozen where they can swim and dive and look for their food...

The Hague Scheveningen Winter 2010, Netherlands

We had an entire family as a guest during Christmas and it was not simple to find something open at Christmas day and have some entertainment for the guests at the same time. Below was our adventure in snowy ground and when we reached the centrum area, it snowed further! Before that, we were at the park near the apartment. That was the Nature Encounter in Rijswijk, where the kids highly enjoyed as well. We showed them the center area of the Hague, where it looks deserted because it was Christmas and establishments were closed. We ended up in the beach area, in Scheveningen. We ate dinner there and went back home. We had the second dinner at home again.:)

Greeting you all a Merry Christmas,first and foremost... then we can proceed.

Our 3 little mountain climbers are on their way to the top... all3!

The city center, near the city hall, the library and the theater, it really looked dead and abandoned that day...

Let's give the word"beach" another meaning....all covered with snow and hardened snow (ice)...

The shoreline was all white...not with sand but with solid water from the sphere up there...

Yet, no one can stop these 3 from having fun... snowy beach or cold weather! Oh kids!

Of course, we passed by the recreation center... i joined the fun!

Leaving the place to go home, we had our first dinner already, time for the second!

Yeah, the butt of Europe it is! I have been to this city for like 3 times but never had the chance to look around and enjoy and so here we are! So how was it? It was busy and full of tourist and we were lucky to have the kind of weather that enveloped the city that day.

After trying my best to capture sunrise on board the train, the beautiful sunset, I was able to see while I was cycling home. Thus, if in the train I could not stop, I was not in express way/ hi-way with my bike so I was able to get down and took my shot steadily. It is still not of the best quality but I love sun as the subject in photo, thus, here they are, sunset at around 20:00...

I was trying...yet, not that good enough. Yeah, I was doing my best. It's already difficult beingon the ground to capture sun shots so you can imagine the difficulty of trying to capture sunlight with my digicam (5 years old) while on board the train! The following is oneofmy favorites. Why? Quick, delicious and healthy! We used to do it with cime di rape or turnip tops but we could not find such vegetable here in Netherlands (or we have not discovered where to take it so far). Thus, we tried broccoli as a substitute. Nothing bad! I love it all the same. Yummy!

Aside from the activity indicated here for thebride, another was organized by colleagues namely Marina, Helma, Graciela, Kaltoum and Irena. It was a fun Friday night just like the ones wealways have had. Great food and discussion. Some photo taking as well.

The party would have been boring without the games. Thanks to the dedication that Au and Astrid offered. The food was also excellent. The guests were indeed beauty, brains and talented! What else can you/we ask more? The following photos depict two games in a row. One is the "Tissue Paper Bouquet" to be judged by the soon-to-bebride and the "Point the Mister" in the poster. It was fun as expected. The winners enjoyedtheir prices as well.

It was really funny to assume that there was a "stripper" during the party for May. Even in these photos I can see that May is so red in face (though she has eye covers). Even at somemoment she thought it was "Michael", she was still not sure because she had blind folds on. In short, I was coughing with laughter and we were all screaming as we cheered, which I think one of the factors that made May may red in the face. Here are the photos... (I tried to take a quick video how crazy we were... reduce the volume of your speaker as these ladies here are all screaming mloud...)

It was indeed a surprise for May as she thought it was a birthday party she's going to when in fact it has been weeks that her friends and acquaintances, including her groom-to-be were all preparing that surprise day for her. Goepfert Park, Spring Themed Shots Week 14 2010

It was a bit sunny today. I fully utilized the day from this morning 'til this afternoon. Although I am still coughing like a wild hound, I feel a bit rested with this 4-day weekend! Back to work tomorrow and 360km daily travel but I am recharged now. This morning, I spent approximately 80 minutes practising the roller skates and it was fun and a great exercise as well. Of course I did my twice (morning + night) exercise in the morning, my abs exercise as well as the push-ups (all light). After lunch, Amore and I decided to head to the park righ away to take advantage of the "very rare" sunny Dutch weather. We stayed half an hour in the park before the sun got shy and hid behind the clouds again. Despite all these, I was still able to capture some sunny (and also cloudy) spring shots. This was in Goepfert park. Here are the photos:

For the New Year celebration, we were in STuttgart with friends and their 3 lovely daughters. One of them is our godchild, Haris. Follwoing aresomeof the fun moments I had with them. They love to be with me all the time and it's kind of funny! They were all fun to be with and it was of course fun toplay with them! (Now do I sound like a child?)...^^

These are my current tanks: Fish tank number 1 to number 5 in order.. I love my fishes!

If you love your fish (you can do it once in every 12 hours), you will be rewarded!

When selling fish with the help of the market or whole sale/ bulk sale, this is the announcement that a 15% commission is retained by the market...

This used to be the popup in Fish World before the upgrade that they did. Now, it does not happen anymore...

As We Looked For Las Ramblas in Barcelona

After getting so much from our guided tour with the Sagrada Familia church, we walked around to lookk for the famous Las Ramblas area and as we went along we passed by and saw alot of other local stuff happening around Barcelona.

There was actually some event going on and some people were in costume but we did not understand what was the event!

Narrow streets but along these streets where the good restaurants by the locals are. I think these people, most of them, are going for dinner... :) Just like us!

I was told the locals do their dance weekly? Cool! I was impressed they just pass by and dance... Is this a Catalunyan dance??? Hmmm have to research more..

Street singers... but they were good huh! Look at their fans!

I was so tired here actually... SMile though your feet is aching.... as they say.. :)

We could not resist but to ask from the tourist center!

Uhhhh... my feet were killng me! Hmmmph!

Enjoying the Night Attractions in Barcelona

After treading the Ramblas during day time, and passing by the Barcelona Cathedral, it was a great fun looking around under the night sky and beside the waterfront... The images were not so good as my cam has "night sickness" but I just deal with it for "remembrance" purposes. :)
