Since that time, Rockledge has held several movie night for residents with complimentary popcorn and beverages always served 30 minutes before each show. While movie nights will continue at Rockledge, the resort community has a VERY EXCITING announcement! Residents at Rockledge will now be able to reserve the movie theater for their own private viewings with friends and family.

In order to reserve the movie theater, residents just need to email Kelsey in the management office at kelsey@RockledgeATL.com at least 48 hours in advance and include your name, apartment number, and movie to be shown. She will then check the schedule to make sure no other events are scheduled in the theater.  The hours available to reserve the movie theater are Monday- Thursday6-9PM, Friday 4-6PM, Saturday 1-6PM, and Sunday 1-4PM. Once you receive approval then your reservation will be added to the schedule.

The indoor running track is located on the 2nd floor of the clubhouse with large windows offering gorgeous views of the sand volleyball court, swimming pool, and tennis court while you run. It also overlooks the indoor basketball court on one side of the track.

Rockledge has several other indoor amenities to help you beat the heat as well. The 3-story clubhouse has a large state-of-the art fitness center, yoga studio, indoor basketball court, huge party room w/ billiards, and an 80 seat movie theater.

Thursday, July 22nd at 7PM: Dragon*Con presents Pushin’ Up Daisies. (The filmmaker, Patrick Franklin, will be in attendance!) Synopsis- A fledgling filmmaker returns to his small, rural hometown to make a documentary about flowers and their significance at the major stages of human life: birth, death, marriage, etc. Hopelessly obsessed with capturing truth and reality, the filmmaker is none too pleased when a sudden, inexplicable ZOMBIE uprising turns ‘reality’ on its head.

Thursday, July 29th at 7PM:
The Georgia Big Picture Conference presents 3 short films (total 40 minutes) Short films include Consequences of a Streaking Ray, Deadbeat, and The Unstoppable Edwina Chambers. The filmmaker, Anthony McHie, will be in attendance and answer questions at the end.

The Rockledge movie theater is located on the third floor of the community clubhouse. One of the many fun activities on the Chatthoochee River during the summer months is rafting. The lower portion of the Chattahoochee River near Rockledge is ideal for beginners with light rapids that allow you to sit back and enjoy the views without too much paddling. Rafts, canoes, kayaks, and tubes can all be rented from “Shoot the Hooch” or you can purchase your own at many local retail stores such as Sports Authority and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The closest put in point for rafts and boats from Rockledge is Powers Island directly behind the community on North Interstate Parkway. It takes approximately two to three hours to float down to the take out point at Paces Mill. You’ll most likely see a variety of birds and animals along your journey and its recommended that you take plenty of water and a life jacket.

In July, Dragon*Con Director Matthew Foster returns to Rockledge on Thursday July 22nd to present a mockumentary/comedy/ zombie movie called “Pushin’ Up Daisies.” Based out of Athens, the movie was filmed in several small towns in Georgia including Washington, Crawfordville, and other surrounding communities. First time writer/director of the film, Patrick Franklin, will be in attendance at Rockledge during the show and to answer questions following the movie.
