RESIDENT ACTION:THE M4 EAST EXTENSION CAN BE BUILT NOW, CONTACT YOUR POLITICIANS TO OBTAIN FEDERAL INFRASTRUCTURE MONEY AND STATE MONEY TO BUILD THE M4 EAST EXTENSION(SEE NRMA WEB SITE: http://www.roadtube.com.au/?s=m4 )Email this website to friends etc.
BUILDING THE M4 EAST EXTENSION WILL LINK THE TWO BIGGEST ADJACENT COMMERCIAL CENTRES IN AUSTRALIA(Sydney CBD and Parramatta CBD) with PORT BOTANY and SYDNEY AIRPORT and the M5. Research of the Centre for International Economics says the M4 East Extension is the Most Important Unfunded Road in NSW. (http://www.propertyoz.com.au/Article/Resource.aspx?media=55).The M4 EAST will end up paying for itself and making huge profits with its Tolls on Freight and Traffic etc- Large PROFITS from the HUGE INCOME FROM TOLLS etc. HUGE SAVINGS in TIME and PETROL. This will create and sustain THOUSANDS of JOBS, HUGE FOR THE ECONOMY. Hundreds of millions have already been spent on M4 EAST plans over the years, so it must be ready to start now The MUCH PROMISED M4 EAST EXTENSION is the only Infrastructure Project in Australia that will pay for itself and make a huge profit. A 14 year old Tunnelling machine used overseas can tunnel the12.5 km in about 8.2 months starting both ends with them (NFM Technologies, http://www.tunnelbuilder.com/main.php) so the M4 East Extension could be built in 24 months with them. The HEAVY THROUGH TRAFFIC caused by NOT HAVING THE M4 EAST EXTENSION DEVALUES the QUALITY of LIFE in this SUBURB. And this THROUGH TRAFFIC is getting WORSE. “Start on M4East would be delayed for at least 10 years” Inner West Courier page5, February 25, 2010.Article by Shireen Khalil.

Over the last three months I have been using an app on my iPhone to record every single fill up and the average price is 138.3c/Litre after 15 tanks of fuel.

This mornings price hike is a 12.6c/Litre rise above average!

With elections looming, perhaps this is a good time to start pressuring the government into having a watchdog that not only watches but actually does something?

At Buladelah, (100 k’s from Newcastle) at 8.45 a.m. unleaded fuel was 119.9 cents per litre, -10 cents per litre cheaper, yet 70 ks further away from the terminal At 3.00 p.m in the afternoon, unleaded at Buladelah was still only 119.9c/l and at 4.30 p.m. that same day at Maitland unleaded was still 129.9 c/l. Can someone from an oil company or a government authority explain how petrol can be 10 cents per litre cheaper on the same day at service stations 70 k’s away. The Hunter Valley people are being taken for a ride as far as petrol prices are concerned.

The February 2010 Govt proposal re public transport has only contributed to compound Sydney’s transport problems. The maximum density of population has already been reached some time ago. For how much longer will the people of outer Sydney want to walk, ride or drive over the top of us to congregate at the centre of the archaic half-cartwheel mapped out by horse and dray in the 18th century? The Sydney airport is probably the greatest contributor to the congestion. Go ahead. Make it even worse. Now to the NIMBY’s further out, let’s grab all of your back yards and turn them into an airport which has greater access for more people. The new rail systems proposed should encourage the spread westward, not eastward. Better still, go back to Ben Boyd and initiate a brand new city at Eden, but this time let’s not center it right on the coast.
