dPulse Recordings today announces a three track release of Water on the Moon, one of the most popular songs produced by the Rise and Shine show. Featuring two deep remixes “Drop Trajectory” and “Sparks” by dark techno eminence Lagowski and a bouncing 145bpm space dance mix by Rise and Shine originator Dean Whitbread, the song is based on the story of NASA’s exploratory mission.

Later today at around 7pm GMT+1 there will be a one-off special Rise and Shine online performance to mark the occasion, with Lagowski providing his unique sonic manipulations live for the first time in this format.

We’re pleased to be joining in with switching off the lights as part of Earth Hour. We’re going to be songwriting live Thursday 26th March from 11am GMT until we have our Earth Hour Anthem.

Thanks to the writers, who laid their reputation on the line, exposed their writing processes to intimate scrutiny, turned on the cameras and the microphones, and let the audience into their inspiration and their craft. This album was written by the Rise and Shine Show songwriting teams in collaboration with the musicians, lyricists, wags and wits who are the Rise and Shine audience. Thanks for showing up, giving us wonderful ideas, watching us make it up as we go along and celebrating with us the ludicrous, profound and the mystifying.

Giving is at the heart of the show – as much as people gave us, we give away to good causes. In 2008, the small-scale pilot series raised over $1000 US for Busk Aid www.buskaid.org.za , which gives music training to South African township children.

As with the pilot show, we are continuing to support Busk Aid by donating the proceeds of this album.
