Babies for example follow a normal learning curve. The same is true when we learn lawn mowing. There is no short-cut. One starts from the basic and progress to learn the complex parts. When you don’t get it the first time, do not frown. The first thing you’ll have to do is to see mowing with a different set of eyes. Mowing is easy particularly because it doesn’t require knowledge of rocket science or need herculean strength. There are only 3 things that you need: a lawn mower, a good amount of patience and a well-founded understanding of lawn mowing. We’ll get to them one at a time.

A good lawn mower I can recommend is the Bosch Rotak 34 lawn mower. This is a ride-on mower. Such a mower variety works wonderful for large lawns. It also has a unique combing system that will clean up all the grass clippings. It is most liked for its efficient cutting results and quick-charge batteries.

If your lawn however is about 500 square feet, which is considered small by industry standards, a reel lawn mower would do it good. For medium-sized lawns, mowers which have powered motors are best employed. You may choose between electric mowers or gasoline powered mowers. Powered mowers may also have grass bags as its accessory.

Now before you jump into mowing, check your mower and lawn first. For the mower, ascertain that there aren’t any clogs along the blades. Its moving parts must move smoothly otherwise apply oil to decrease too much friction and/or avoid rusting. Survey your lawn. Make sure that there aren’t any dangerous obstacles that your mower might get entangled with. Watch out that you don’t run into surface pipes and mounds of earth.

To save time, mow with a certain pattern at the right speed. Never mow in random direction and at changing speed. Your mower must move at walking speed. This will guarantee an even trim that avoids possible clogging.

Before stowing your mower away, make sure that the mower is free from debris and stuck grass clippings. Rinsing with water should clean it well. For electric and gasoline powered mowers, it is recommended that you follow its unique cleaning option found in the manual.

Every one experience apprehension when they do things the first time. Are you piqued by the rising cost of repairs? It’s about time that you assess your habits when you work with tools and gadgets. The lousy use and care makes them less cooperative in the long run.

Machines like lawn mowers are as delicate as any human being. They do need proper check-up, care and maintenance. They also get jaded. They are not simply pushed around to work and be stored in a shed after. On this article, you’d get care and maintenance tips. Avoiding expensive repair costs or prolonging your mower is good news, isn’t it? So, read on.

It is a must that the lawn mower is handled with even lines. A minimum of two inches inside the previous line which had been trimmed should be a standard on the wheels to achieve good results. If the mower comes with a grass bag, immediate disposal of its contents must be a habit after every use. This will fend off possible clogging which may be bad for the mower.

Before one goes out to mow, it is best that one checks the weather condition. It is always best to avoid a sudden pour in the middle of the mowing. Wet lawns have undesirable consequences for the lawn, lawn mower and the mower operator. Wet grass clippings tend to stick to the mower blades. The cut will be inefficient and uneven due to the blockage. The resulting would just annoy the operator. In addition, the grass clippings would just be difficult to clean up. It is best to wait until the lawn has sufficiently dried up.

Like humans, lawn mowers must not be pushed too far. Remember that even machines experience wear and tear. For its hard work, a good pampering is a just reward for your lawn mower. The following are good ways to keep your lawn mower happy. Thorough rinsing and cleaning will keep your lawn mower free from grass clippings and debris that sticks on it. A full bag of grass clippings must be emptied before the mower is stored away.

Lastly, metal parts must be greased every now and then to prevent rusting. As a safety precaution, mowers must be kept out of children’s reach.

A well-favored lawn mower is the Bosch Rotak 34 electric rotary lawn mower. It is trusted for its quality. But eventually the machine would age and the quality of the performance goes downhill. However with a good keeping of your lawn mower, aging could be delayed and for years the performance will be kept to its optimum. Lawn mowers that are well-cared for return the favor with a good-looking lawn. The antidote to careless use is just a spoonful of good habits and care.

Choosing a Lawn Mower

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> style="">There is a wide array of lawnmowers in the marketplace nowadays so choosing what particular mower to get can be quite confusing for some people especially for those who are getting a mower for the very first time. For a consumer who is already using a lawn mower for quite some time, it will be easier to choose a new mower.

If the consumer is satisfied with the performance of the old mower, he/she can choose to get the same model once the old one is not functioning anymore. On the other hand, if the consumer is not satisfied with his/her old mower model, a new model can be chosen once the old one breaks down. Basically, what consumers need are reliable lawn mowers which can cut grasses effectively and keep the lawn looking clean at all times. In addition, consumers need lawn mowers that can be used for a long time because replacements can be very costly.

It is highly suggested that you purchase a high quality mower which was produced by a credible manufacturer. The lawn mower should have at least one year warranty and long-term consumer support/assistance. One of the ways to know whether a particular brand is of excellent quality is by asking around. If none of your friends, relatives or acquaintances is using the brand, you can check out the online consumer reviews regarding the brand.

Regardless of the brand, there are a few things that you have to keep in mind as you choose a lawn mower. If your lawn is small and you are tight on budget, you can get a manual push mower. Mowers which are not powered by gasoline or electricity are way cheaper than gasoline and electric-powered mowers.

Aside from being the cheapest among all kinds of mowers, the manual push mower is also the most eco-friendly since it does not emit any form of pollutant. However, you will need to give more effort and time in operating the push mower than a gas or electric-powered mower. This is the reason why the push mower is acceptable and tolerable only for a small lawn.

For a large lawn or field, it will be impractical, inefficient and ineffective to use a manual push mower so you’d better get a riding or ride-on electric or gasoline powered mower. With a riding mower, the operator can mow the large lawn with ease and convenience.

One of the best selling lawn mowers is the Bosch Rotak 34 which is currently on sale at Amazon for less than £100. Don’t miss this opportunity and check it out right now.

Different Types Of Gardening Equipment & Lawn Mower

Keeping your garden and lawn in tip-top shape is just about getting the best lawnmower and cutting the grass mercilessly. There are garden equipment and tools which are very useful and necessary. These garden tools will arm you with your battle against weed and unruly leaves.

To cultivate your soil you would need garden hand tools. A garden shovel will be a good tool to dig holes and move the soil. Meanwhile the spade has a flat blade and is great for making trenches, transplanting trees, cutting roots and edging beds.

For turning over soil four times compared with shovel and spade, you can use garden and spading forks. A garden fork has thick rectangular or square tines and is used for turning over soil. A hoe, meanwhile, is used to remove weeds and make furrows.

A pick and a pick axe are also hand tools necessary for your gardening. When breaking the earth especially during the times when it is very hard, the pick would be necessary. The pick square point shovel gives less cutting power, but its function is more of scooping and removing materials. The round handle is recommended for ordinary garden digging and not for heavy digging.

The pick axe will be for breaking things. Both ends of the pick axe have extremely sharp points on each end. This would be best whenever you want to break cement, dig through clay or remove or chip rocks which you would to take off.

A good garden tool is also needed. This would make sure that your garden is free of debris and unwanted materials. This would also make sure that your garden is clean from garbage like leaves and branches. When choosing a broom , make sure that the broom that you get will take care of the corners and hidden places in your garden.

A trimmer is also a powerful tool that will lighten medium duty users. This would make sure that hedges, beds, ornamental grasses and lawns. They are durable and have different styles. Hedge trimmers usually can be to-arm hedge clippers. There are even electric hedge trimmers.

Chain saws may be big, but they can be very important when keeping your lawn in shape. Chain saws are mainly used in removing branches and sometimes the whole trees. It is very important, though, to be completely careful in handling it to avoid doing damage to the trees and causing damage on the person who is handling it himself.

What lawn or garden does not have a rake? You would need a sturdy rake to clear the garden of debris. This can also be sued to spread clippings in the seedbeds that would serve as the fertilizer for the plants. When choosing a garden rake, take note of the weight, since you don抰 want to easily get tired just by holding it. Also, consider the length to avoid back strain.

An electric blower is also a good tool for displacing unwanted debris. There are different kinds of blowers, you have the power sweep blower which generates air force up to 140 mph. This kind of blower has an exclusive extension cord firmly in place. A featherlight gas blower will cut down the time spent outside cleaning up the lawn. It lives up to its name since it only weigh 7.5 pounds.

Whether it is a lawn mower, a shredder or a shovel, you do not have to buy it quickly once you saw it. You need to buy it as long as it fits your needs.

Using Lawn Mower In The Proper Manner

How many times have you use your lawn mower every month? If you are someone like me who is heavily dependent on the lawn mower when working in the garden, you should learn how to take proper care of it. I believed you do not want to spent a few hundred bucks to repair it thus knowing the proper way to use your lawn mower is necessary.

You will probably be thinking now that isn’t pushing the lawn mower the only way to properly use it? That is when we are all wrong. There are certain techniques that we need to learn and practice when mowing in the lawn. Now, I am going to share with you some tips on how to master the various techniques.

3 Techniques To Properly Use Your Lawn Mower

1) Make sure that you are handling with even lines. In order to achieve this, you are required to maintain the wheels by at least 2 inches inside the previous line that you have cut.

2) Run the lawn mower across the hilly portions of your lawn to maintain the straight lines and footing.

3) If your lawn mower comes with a grass clipping bag, remember to empty it often to prevent clogging the machine.

When To Mow Your Lawn

1) Dry grass

If the grass is wet, it might be obstructing the mower blades since it might get stuck in there. This will affect the efficiency of cutting the grass since it is much more difficult with obstruction in the mower blades. In the worst scenario, the quality of the cut will now be good due to this.

In most cases, I believed you will not work on your lawn when it is wet because you do not want to get yourself dirty. In fact, I encourage not working in those conditions since you will spoil the grass and roots when you step on the wet soil. Don’t create more mess for yourself!

2) Early in the morning/ Late afternoon

These are the 2 timing that is most appropriate for mowing since the lawn is pretty dry during these hours. The fungus that can be found in your lawn is your best gauge to see if it is a good time to work on your lawn as well.

After Using Your Mower

Humans breakdown when overwork and the same logic goes for machines. Therefore, it is always good to engage in some basic maintenance after using it.

You can simply rinse the lawn mower with to eliminate the grass clippings that can be found in the external of the lawn mower. At the same time, clear the grass clipping bag.

Next, oil the metal parts to prevent it from rusting and store it in a place that is not accessible for your kids. Most kids will think that mowing is a fun activity and it will be dangerous if they use the lawn mower when you are busy elsewhere.

Mowing can be fun but at the same time tiring. We will get dirty most of the times but it is necessary to keep the grass healthy to have a better living environment. Remember to maintain your lawn mower and use it the proper way.

Simple Lawn Mower Maintenance Tips

Things that we used daily are worn out fast and need to be maintained occasionally to keep it in tip top condition. That goes the same for our beloved garden buddy – lawn mower. Instead of sending your lawn mower for maintenance, I will share with you a few tips to DIY the maintenance yourself at home.

1) Clean your lawn mower when it is between the months of October and November. This is to prepare for spring and prevent it to malfunction.

2) Drain your lawn mower by running your motor dry during winter. In case there is fuel left in your tank, remove and keep it in a container. Alternatively, you can use it to top up your car to avoid the wastage.

3) Change your oil every 2 years and the best period is just before spring. You can simply drain off the old oil and replace it with new ones. You might think that it is a waste of the oil but is recommended to do it to prevent other fault especially if your lawn mower has been used for the past 5-6 years.

4) To prevent the air filter of the lawn mower from getting clogged, you can clean it gently by using a brush. I know it is inexpensive to get a new filter but this doesn’t take you more than 15 minutes.

5) Replace spark plugs regularly and these could be purchased from the hardware store. You can check out your instructional manual on how you can go about replacing it and this shouldn’t be too difficult for most lawn mower brands. Make sure you know the exact specifications of the spark plugs before getting one to avoid the hassle of changing it again.

6) Like the cutlery knives, the mower blades get blunt over a period of time due to wear and tear. You can either purchase a new set of blades or sharpen it. The procedure of sharpening the blade is exactly the same as how you sharpen your cutlery knives.

7) Check on the underside of your mower for any dirt and clean it using a paint scraper.

These are some simple maintenance tips that you can adhere to save you some money. Follow these tips and you will realize that your lawn mower can actually last you longer before you need to send it for major repair. With the current economic conditions, it is definitely helpful to reduce our expenses in any way that we could. Do share with me in the comments below if you have any other methods that you use to maintain your lawn mower.

Different Types Of Lawn Mower

I believed most of you have try riding on lawn mower in certain point of your life and you must be pretty familiar with it. This process is part and parcel of everyday life and is vital to maintain a healthy lawn. Therefore, we need lawn mower to aid us in maintaining a beautiful lawn and to lighten our work load. You will be able to find various types of lawn mower in the market and each serve different purposes.

To make things simple, we can actually categorized lawn mowers into two types:

1) Push lawn mower

It can be operated manually either with gas or electricity. Manual lawn mower is classified to be more eco-friendly as it needs to be push and need not require the usage of chemicals. Thus, there is no pollution cause by this type of lawn mower.

On the other hand, gas or electricity operated lawn mower is less eco-friendly due to the output that is emitted into the environment. It is also noted by a few of my friends that gas operated lawn mower is a hassle since it often dirty the area after re-fueling the lawn mower.

2) Riding lawn mower

It is also more commonly know as lawn tractors. This type of lawn mower is more skewed towards large scale yards or lawn. Unless you need to mow more than 1/2 acre of land or you are someone who hates working in the lawn, it is not really necessary to get a riding lawn mower since it is more expensive as compared to the push type.

Different Functions/Features Of Lawn Mowers

1) Mulching lawn mower

This is very helpful urban and suburban homeowners since it reduces the amount of time we need to spend on the lawn. Instead of spreading mulch with our hands, we can actually use a lawn mower to aid us with this process. It will mulch the grass clippings and leave it behind on the lawn to function as fertilizer. You can choose to attach a bag to collect the grass clippings which is not recommended by me since it can be use to mulch the lawn instead.

2) Rotary lawn mower

This type of lawn mower cuts the grass with its rotating blade. The blade rotates horizontally which is even usable in uneven lawn. The distance between the lawn and the blade can be easily adjusted which makes mowing much more easy.

Do not be confused with the reel mower as it is slightly different from rotary ones. The blade of reel mower rotates vertically and usually contains more blades. However, it is more difficult to manage reel mower if you intend to use it to cut very high grass but is healthier for the lawn.

3) Cylinder lawn mower

You can expect to get a cleaner cut of grass with cylinder lawn mower. It has a spiral blade that is covered around with a cylinder. It cuts grass by ‘scissor like’ action and the cut will be of good quality if the lawn mower is in good condition which includes the condition of the blade. However, it is not recommended if you are working on an uneven lawn and it will be much more difficult to maintain as compared to rotary or reel lawn mower.

4) Hover lawn mower

It rides on a cushion of air which allows it to glide over your lawn quickly. As those who don't, it is a machine that has one or more rotating blades that trim grass at a level length.

Two forms of lawn mowers can be found in the market - push type model and ride mower. The push type model is perfect for usage in tiny residential gardens and lawns. As for bigger areas such as a soccer field or a golf course, you'll require to utilize a ride on lawn mower.

Edwin Beard, a British engineer, invented the 1st lawn mower in 1827. The idea for his innovation occurred when he came across a similar machine cutting nap from cloth and believed that the identical concept could be used to cutting grass.

It was rough and big which is why this was merely made to shorten the lawn on sports grounds and gardens. Lawn mowers was finally produced in the 1860's and sold in the marketplace. In 1870, the 1st ever man pushed lawn mower was manufactured.

Several improvements to the lawn mowers were made and the most important first riding lawn mower was dragged by a huge animal. Prior to the eruption of World War 2, people started trying out with gasoline run lawn mowers and there has been little modifications up till today.

Using lawn mowers has cause several safety and environmental issues. In 2001, a research indicates that the lawn mower gives off equivalent measure of pollution as a 1992 model car which has driven for almost an hour or 650 miles. This is because of the insignificant modifications on the motor used by these machines opposed to automobiles which have had a large improvement in terms of fuel efficiency.

Lawn mowers are also another source of air pollution. With the amount of golf courses, soccer fields and tennis courts, it utilizes about 17 million gallons of fuel every year which is a lot more than the oil spilled in the Gulf of Alaska from the Exxon Valdez.

And then there's the safety matter with reference to the usage of ride on lawn mowers. Firstly, it could result in hearing loss particularly to those who ride it without any type of hearing protection. Secondly, numerous people landed in the hospital every year as a result of lawn mower associated accidents.

Does that imply that people ought to use only push based lawnmowers? The response is nah since this actually depends on the situation. In situations when a riding on lawn mowers has to be practiced, safety precautions and appropriate gear could cut down on the number of mishaps.

As for air pollution, companies that produce these machines have to bring about certain modifications so as to minimize emissions which are adverse to the surroundings.

One solution to facilitate in protecting the environment is the robotic lawn mower. Robotic lawn mowers are smaller and battery-powered. You merely have to manoeuver the lawn mower where it goes utilizing a remote control identical to those used in toy cars or planes.

The lawn mower is an important machine. Thanks to this great invention and human no longer need to use a large pair of scissors to cut grass.
